The federal meals scandal is described as the largest public theft in Minnesota history. The statehouse’s House Fraud Prevention and State Agency Oversight Committee is probing the Somali-born congresswoman’s involvement in the scandal, but Democrats ...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy,white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects... in May blocked a subpoena that would require Omar to produce records.
Public records in the state, however, may tie Omar’s sister, Sahra Noor, to the operation. Noor has run several businesses in the region, including the People’s Center Clinics & Services in the Somali neighborhood of Minneapolis, which controversially received a $2 million earmark while her sister was a state representative.
Noor went on to found a group called Grit Partners Consulting, and publicly says her company "has secured more than $20 million in funding for health initiatives" and has "consulted on projects backed by" federal health agencies such as USAID and the Center for Disease Control.
Grit Partners was incorporated at a home on Hyacinth Ave. in Lakeville, Minnesota. That address, and the woman who lives there, are lynchpins tying together at least three Feeding Our Future convicts, The Daily Wire found.
The Hyacinth Ave. home is occupied by Mashah Ahmed Ali and his wife Ister (a.k.a. Ismahan) Ahmed Afraa. According to incorporation records, Afraa opened a company called Sunrise Business Center, Inc. alongside Hanna Marekegn.
Marekegn is directly involved in the fraud scandal, pleading guilty in 2022 to wire fraud for stealing $7 million.
Marekegn claimed to be feeding 4,000 poor children a day. Instead she bought a mansion for herself, claiming she embodied the "American Dream." Marekegn testified under oath that she falsely alleged racism to manipulate Minnesota babus bureaucrats to look the other way at red flags.

For Omar, a scandal involving siblings is nothing new. Since her first entry into the national political scene, she has been dogged by reporting on her marriage to a Somalian man who is widely believed to be her brother. That marriage was almost certainly not done for romantic reasons — he was a foreign national, and during her marriage to him, she married another man who is the father of her children. Omar has since divorced that second husband to marry her one-time political consultant, Tim Mynett.
Reporting shows that Omar’s sister has moved back to Africa, and that her family has found itself involved directly with the Somali government.
According to Breitbart, Omar’s sister left her position at the People’s Center and moved to Kenya, with her Grit Partners doing work in Africa funded by the now-defunct USAID.
Her husband, Mohamed Keynan, worked for the Minnesota Department of Human Services, but after going back to Africa, he has worked as chief of staff to the Somali Prime Minister and policy advisor to Somalia’s president, Breitbart said.
The husband is also known as Mohamed Ali, the same last name as the owner of the Hyacinth home where Noor incorporated Grit Partners, Mashah Ahmed Ali. The latter created two companies: Pro Transit Allies LLC, seemingly a Medicaid transportation company; and Puntland Transport LLC. Puntland is an area of Somalia for which Mohamed Keynan – Ilhan Omar’s brother-in-law – is a fierce advocate.
In a phone call with The Daily Wire, Mashah Ahmed Ali claimed to have never heard of any of the companies registered to his home or by his wife, saying someone must have created them without his knowledge. “There must be some sort of scam going on, I have no idea,” he said.
“For the last 10 years I have a professional job, I have nothing to do with anything,” he said.
Asked if his wife Afraa might be the person who knows about the companies in her name, he refused to provide her number. Afraa did not reply to a text sent to a number associated with her.
Noor, who has written a book scheduled for release next month, did not return a request for comment.

[FoxNews] The far-left allies slammed the subpoenas as a 'witch hunt' while fundraising campaigns were also initiated
Prominent far-left figures, including livestream influencer Hasan Piker, are rallying around a pro-China media outlet within the sprawling network bankrolled by communist tech tycoon Neville Roy Singham – casting recent congressional subpoenas as leading a "McCarthy-style" witch hunt against the left.
As Fox News Digital first reported Wednesday, the House Ways and Means Committee sent subpoenas to three nonprofits, including media outlet BreakThrough News, as part of a wider investigation into alleged malign foreign influence by China in U.S. politics. The three groups have received about $39 million from Singham, who left the U.S. several years ago to live in China.
The other two groups are the People’s Forum Inc., a New York-based activist and political-education hub, and Tricontinental: Institute for Social Research, a think tank that says its work is anchored in "national liberation Marxism."
The committee said it is examining whether nonprofit laws adequately protect against foreign influence and whether Congress needs to strengthen them. It also accused the three groups of failing to produce "a single responsive document" following earlier requests for information.
PIKER, CODEPINK RALLY BEHIND SUBPOENAED OUTLET
Hours after Fox News Digital reported the subpoenas, pro-communist influencers and organizations mounted a social media defense of BreakThrough News, echoing similar-phrased attacks on the congressional investigation.
Among them were Piker, a prominent Twitch streamer and political commentator, and Medea Benjamin, co-founder of CodePink, a pro-communist, pro-China nonprofit that has received Singham money.
Piker called the subpoenas "the McCarthy trials," invoking the anti-communist Congressional investigations of the 1950s, led by Sen. Joe McCarthy.
"They will come for you," Piker warned on X.
Responding to BreakThrough News host Rania Khalek appeal for support and donations, Benjamin called the move a "terrible attack on independent journalism," adding, "We stand with you!!!"
Benjamin co-founded CodePink with Jodie Evans, who married Singham in 2017, the year he sold his technology company, ThoughtWorks, for an estimated $785 million. He has subsequently poured money into a network of pro-communist, pro-China organizations.
In March, Piker, Benjamin and Evans traveled to Cuba to rally support for the island nation’s communist government. Fox News Digital previously reported that the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control is investigating whether they violated U.S. sanctions restricting dealings with Cuba, according to sources familiar with the inquiry.
Their warnings about political repression come despite longstanding restrictions on dissent and independent media under the communist governments of Cuba and China.
The three organizations occupy different roles within the Singham network.
Breakthrough BT Media Inc., which runs BreakThrough News, is based at the People’s Forum W. 37th Street address in Manhattan. It serves as a propaganda arm of the network, producing media and protest coverage and "agitprop," or agitation propaganda. It’s often the first on the scene of major hotspots, like Glam Doll Donuts in Minneapolis, where a local activist, Alex Pretti, was killed by U.S. immigration agents earlier this year.
The People’s Forum organizes demonstrations and political programming, often the first to arrive at protests, handing out pre-printed signs from an affiliated group, the Party for Socialism and Liberation. Tricontinental, led by Singham friend Vijay Prashad, supplies Marxist research and ideological material and hosts events like a "Global South" conference last November in Shanghai, where Singham spoke, expressing support for the "new world order" of the Chinese Communist Party and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
As Fox News Digital first reported, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Jay Clayton from has separately launched a grand jury investigation into alleged wire fraud, bank fraud, money laundering and other financial improprieties by Singham in financing these organizations. Meanwhile, the State Department issued a report on Monday, naming People’s Forum and CodePink as "fellow travelers" in Cuba’s foreign influence campaign to sell communism.
The synchronized defense illustrates how organizations and personalities tied to the Singham network can rapidly mobilize around a common message, just as they’ve done in the past to oppose everything from data centers to President Donald Trump, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the war with Iran, Israel and the U.S. arrest of Venezuela strongman Nicholas Maduro.
Rather than addressing the committee’s allegations about foreign-linked funding, financial transparency and compliance with congressional document requests, many of the network’s most prominent voices characterized the investigation as political persecution, invoking themes of the "red scare," "McCarthyism," "censorship" and a broader "war on the left."
MESSAGING AND FUNDRAISING PUSH SPREADS
The wider campaign began Wednesday evening with a coordinated petition and fundraising push, before spreading through the Singham-linked network overnight and into today.
At 5:40 p.m. on Wednesday, the People’s Forum launched the messaging counterattack, sharing a new petition and a fundraising appeal on the platform Give Lively LLC, requesting tax-deductible donations to finance its legal response and "mass organizing work."
A few hours later, at 9:44 p.m, Khalek, the BreakThrough News host, urged her social media followers to "sign, share, donate" to the outlet’s new fundraising campaign on the GoFundMe platform and sign a petition, "Tell Congress: Drop the Witch Hunt Against BreakThrough News!"
The petition is hosted on Action Network, a big Democratic Party organizing platform. BreakThrough News said it sought "emergency funds to fight back."
"We’re not going anywhere," Khalek wrote on X. "We’re going to fight this assault on our journalism. The only rights we have are the ones we’re willing to defend."
According to Breakthrough BT Media’s tax filings, Khalek received $101,449 in 2024 and $108,160 in 2023 for "consulting."
Khalek hosts the outlet’s "Dispatches" program and co-hosts "The Freedom Side." Fox News Digital previously reported that she promoted the Chinese government’s claimed "eradication of extreme poverty" during a 2021 program with Tings Chak, a China-based researcher at Tricontinental, linking the media output of one subpoenaed organization to the ideological work of another.
FOREIGN-LINKED FUNDING AT HEART OF PROBE
At the heart of the committee’s inquiry is the network’s layered financial architecture.
The panel alleges that Singham’s money traveled through shell companies and donor-advised funds before reaching the three tax-exempt organizations. Such arrangements, the committee said, can move foreign-linked funding through layers of intermediaries that "by design, obscure the original source of the contribution."
Fox News Digital previously documented $278 million flowing from Singham into six core nonprofits in a wider transnational network spanning media operations, activist organizations and ideological think tanks. The committee’s current investigation focuses on about $39 million it says reached BreakThrough News, the People’s Forum and Tricontinental.
The committee requested records concerning foreign-linked funding and projects whose finances the groups managed. It also sought contracts involving foreign individuals or organizations, communications with Singham about the groups’ finances or operations, contacts with other foreign interests, information about foreign donors who contributed more than $5,000 and records of grants sent overseas.
By Thursday night, the counterpropaganda campaign went global with the World Socialist Website, a pro-communism platform, parroting the rhetoric of the Singham network and blasting the "anti-communist witchhunting" to its readers.

A newly-uncovered Biden White House memo from the administration's final days revealed plans that could have expanded Temporary Protected Status (TPS) to more than 3 million noncitizens while acknowledging that previous court challenges had blocked many of President Donald Trump's efforts to end the protections.
TPS is meant for foreign populations experiencing crises like political unrest or natural disasters, and while Trump has tried to end the "temporary" provisions for Haitians, Nepalese, Salvadorans and Sudanese people, lawsuits from pro-migrant advocates have halted most attempts.
"My investigation uncovered that the Lame Duck Biden White House tried to keep millions of illegal aliens in our country by abusing the 'Temporary' Protected Status program," Sen. Eric Schmitt, R-Mo., who acquired the memo, told Fox News Digital on Friday.
"After the American people voted for President Trump’s promise to end the TPS scam, the Biden administration tried to subvert the will of the American people. This was mass amnesty-by-decree. America is for Americans, and it is our home—it is not a permanent refugee camp," he said.
The memo argued that "granting TPS will potentially protect many vulnerable people from President-elect Trump's planned mass deportations... They argue that these protections are likely to hold in court, and they are prepared to litigate efforts to terminate or slow down the implementation of TPS for specified nations by the Trump Administration."
"[P]rior federal litigation brought by advocates during the first Trump administration was successful in halting [its] efforts to terminate TPS, though that was due in large part to [its] failure to produce a factual record in support of termination, which is something that could be rectified," the memo went on.
Schmitt said he obtained the memo from Archivist of the United States Edward Forst through his authority as chairman of the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution.
"Biden tried to turn TPS into a 3.1-million-person deportation shield, protect Tren de Aragua members, and trap President Trump in years of litigation," he said, adding the move directly betrayed the "will of the people" who ousted liberal Democrats from power the prior election.
"The most disturbing part, Biden's ‘Senior Advisors’ recommended he create 2.1 million NEW TPS designees in the last few weeks of his presidency, despite admitting TPS applications take 6 months," Schmitt added.
"Luckily, that never happened and we have been deporting Ecuadorians and Guatemalans."
The memo said Biden’s "senior team" had also received requests for varying types of new TPS-related actions before Trump would take office from Sens. Michael Bennet, D-Colo., Catherine Cortez-Masto, D-Nev., Cory Booker, D-N.J., Richard Durbin, D-Ill., Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, Ben Ray Lujan, D-N.M., Tammy Duckworth, D-Ill., and Alex Padilla, D-Calif.

[JustTheNews] Fare-free bus initiatives are gaining traction in deep blue cities like Washington, D.C., Los Angeles and New York City.
The rise of far-left and democratic socialist mayors in the United States and their campaign promises of free goods and services, particularly fare-free bus rides, is sparking concern about potential "rolling homeless encampments."
The wave of such mayors and their campaign promises effectively started last year with Zohran Mamdani winning the New York City mayor's race, in part, on a campaign promise to make transit buses "fast and free."
Last month, Janeese Lewis George won the Washington, D.C., Democratic mayoral primary, campaigning in part on making bus rides free for all city residents enrolled in the SNAP food assistance program.
The democratic-socialist will almost certainly win the General Election in November, considering Washington, D.C., has never elected a Republican mayor since it established home rule in 1974.
Most recently, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, considered by some a "progressive" Democrat, announced a plan Wednesday to eventually make ridership free across the entire public transit system in Los Angles County.
Bass, in a tough reelection bid, made the announcement to the county's Metropolitan Transportation Authority board of directors. She also told board members her vision focuses on expanding existing low-income and student fare relief.
Bonner Cohen, a senior fellow at the National Center for Public Policy, told Just the News on Thursday that implementing no-fare bus ride programs in such major cities would cause “predictable consequences” in terms of public safety and would lead to an even greater exodus from blue cities than is already happening.
If that’s what they choose, the sooner the collapse, the sooner the next stage can start.
Buses would become “rolling homeless encampments,” he said, “because once the word gets out that the buses are free, rather than spending a cold night out on the streets, why not spend a cold night in a bus, which presumably has a heating system?”
Such a situation occurred in New York City during the COVID-19 pandemic when its subway system didn't strictly enforce fare-collection policies.
Cohen also argues wealthier people can “deal with this” by leaving – and many already are. However, those in the middle class are “stuck,” and “sooner or later, you’re going to run out of their money, and you’re not going to be able to have free public transportation."
While D.C. had a net increase of about 2,335 residents in 2025, 54,000 people left L.A. County from July 2024 to July 2025 and NYC’s population dropped by 12,000 in 2025.
Meanwhile, Lewis George and Mamdani, already about seven months into his term, are facing the practical reality of such fare plans.
Mamdani has yet to deliver on the “free” part due to numerous financial hurdles and state-level approval delays. And Lewis George says she's exploring ways to pay for others to ride buses for free.
In the nation's capitol, bus fares account for only about 10% to 15% of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority's overall passenger revenue, with the vast majority of fare revenue coming from the agency's Metrorail system. Still, that percentage translates to about $59.9 million in projected annual revenue.
Supporters of such plans point to the fact that many riders already don't pay, and enforcement adds to costs and is dangerous for bus drivers.
Roughly 73% of those who ride WAMATA buses skip paying fares, the agency reported in May. In the New York system, 48% of passengers don't. And roughly 46% of riders commit fare evasion on LA Metro services, with specific bus and train routes climbing to more than 60-70%.
Katherine Freund, CEO of the Independent Transportation Network of America, sees free bus rides as a net positive.
ITNAmerica is a national nonprofit that provides community-based transportation for the elderly and disabled.
Freund told Just the News on Thursday that when fixed route transit like buses are free of fares, ridership increases, resulting in air pollution and traffic congestion decreasing.
Freund also thinks the initiative will increase employment for low-income people because “transportation is a barrier to employment,” ultimately leading to improvements in cities’ tax bases and citizens’ social and economic positions. To her, these benefits help offset the loss of the fares.
Both Freund and Cohen believe that politicians such as Bass, Lewis George and Mamdani made the campaign promise because it’s popular among likely voters, ultimately increasing chances of election and reelection.

The San Diego Trolley is not exactly free but close enough so that right from the start it became a rolling hobo camp. There are no turnstyles so anybody can walk right onto the train. Trolley cops only sporadically check for tickets once the train is moving. If you are not a hobo but forgot to renew your monthly pass the cop will write you a citation for two hundred some dollars. If you're a hobo, he just makes sure you get off the trolley at the next stop. Most often, the hobos ride for free as long as they wish because enforcement is so sketchy. The odor is overpowering.

[JustTheNews] Ballots that arrive at the election office up to seven days late can still be counted, so long as they're postmarked by Election Day.
Mail-in ballots for nearly 150,000 California voters were rejected for the state's June primary, according to the secretary of state's office.
The volume of rejected ballots is a spike over recent elections – 108,982 mail ballots were rejected in 2024 and 105,818 in 2025 – and the primary reason for the rejection numbers is the ballots missed the deadline.
California is trying to make it easy for anyone to vote. Among the changes toward that goal is sending ballots to every registered voter and allowing the ballot to arrive at the election office seven days late and still be counted, provided the envelope is postmarked by Election Day. However, the multiple changes over the years that were intended to increase turnout have done little to achieve that goal, according to the Associated Press.
The wire service report doesn't include a definitive reason why the hundreds-of-thousands of votes were rejected, citing only "voting experts" who suspect the main problem is postmarks on ballots that came after Election Day, making them ineligible to be counted. The culprit could be U.S. Postal Service changes that might affect the timing of when postmarks are applied, also according to the wire service story.
Calls to the California election office on Friday to attempt to learn exactly why the ballots were rejected were unsuccessful.
The 150,000 rejected mailed ballots represent a rate of 1.73% of all mail-in ballots.
