Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the arrest was made at about 1:30 p.m. on July 20 by troops of the 19 Brigade following actionable intelligence obtained from Muhammad Mustapha, a suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP member arrested by troops of the 403 Amphibious Brigade in Baga on July 17.

He decried that "the Israeli military has intensified its attacks in Gaza in recent days, killing and injuring dozens of Paleostinians." The Israeli strikes had killed "at least 57 Paleostinians, including six children and eight women" from July 13 to 20, Kheetan said.
The Israel Defense Forces has in recent days announced a series of strikes in the Gaza Strip targeting Hamas ..a regional Iranian catspaw,... and Islamic Jihad ...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah... members who it said were involved in the October 7, 2023, attack on Israel that set off the war, or the subsequent holding of hostages.
It also reported striking a weapons depot, an arms manufacturing site, and a rocket-launching position, saying that this infrastructure posed a threat to its troops.
Kheetan said the strikes had targeted residential buildings, at least one tent sheltering internally displaced people, and other crowded areas, with 34 of the victims "killed far away from the Israeli-imposed yellow line," referring to the border between an IDF-controlled majority of the Strip and its remainder, which is de facto controlled by Hamas.
In attacks on July 17 and 18, Kheetan said the UN rights office had determined that 10 Israeli strikes killed at least 21 Paleostinians.
"In one of these attacks, on an apartment in Gaza City, five members of one family were killed together: Both parents and three siblings, reportedly aged eight, 15, and 17," he said.
Kheetan stressed that "the killing of civilians in these attacks raises concerns of continuing violations of international humanitarian law, war crimes and other possible atrocity crimes in Gaza," adding: "Under international law, deliberately attacking civilians is a war crime."
Though it was not immediately clear which strikes he was referring to, Israel said strikes on July 17 killed a Paleostinian Islamic Jihad sniper, as well as a member of Hamas’s operations division, and that strikes on July 18 struck weapons depots, as well as two Hamas terrorists, including a commander, who invaded Israel on October 7 and were responsible for the taking of hostages.
Israel has in recent months ramped up its efforts to target and kill faceless myrmidons involved in the October 7, 2023, massacre and its aftermath.
Israel rejects accusations that it ever targets civilians, and says it upholds all laws of war. It acknowledges that noncombatants are sometimes killed unintentionally, and notes that Hamas deliberately operates from civilian areas.

The IDF and Shin Bet struck during the weekend (Saturday) in the Gaza City area and eliminated the terrorist Adham Ibrahim Sha'ban Nesman, head of the operations department of the Gaza City Brigade in the Hamas terror organization.
In recent years, Nesman served as commander of the Nukhba Battalion, and during the October 7 massacre, he commanded and directed the incursion into the territory of the State of Israel from the Gaza City Brigade.
Throughout the war, he took part in holding many hostages captive by Hamas, including: Romi Gonen, Emily Damari, Ziv and Gali Berman, Eitan Mor, Matan Engrest, and Omri Miran.
Additionally, Nesman filled a series of different roles in the organization, including intelligence officer of the Gaza City Brigade and commander of the Shati Battalion. As part of his role, he was responsible for and carried out numerous terror plots against IDF forces and the State of Israel.
In recent months, he attempted to train and prepare the terrorists of the Gaza City Brigade and promoted the production and distribution of weaponry to the brigade's battalions. This was aimed at rehabilitating the Hamas terror organization while violating the ceasefire agreement.
On Tuesday, Kheetan warned that Israel’s constant moving of the Yellow Line westwards had left the Paleostinian population in Gaza "trapped in an ever-shrinking area." The Yellow Line was initially drawn according to the US-brokered truce, but Israel has expanded its control of the Strip in the months since, as Hamas has refused to disarm.
If only Hamas would get on with disarming, as they’d committed to do to get this ceasefire, Israel would have to stop or move back. But so long as Hamas continues to refuse, Israel will take care of disarming an ever larger area of Gaza.
The IDF’s expansion, Kheetan said, presents "a continuous threat to life as the Israeli military appears to routinely fire on Paleostinians for mere presence in the vicinity of that line, in violation of international human rights law and international humanitarian law."
More than 1,100 Paleostinians have been killed in Gaza since the truce took effect in October, according to Gaza’s health ministry, which operates under Hamas authority and does not distinguish between combatants and civilians.
The UN rights office has so far verified the killing of 685 Paleostinians between last October and April, Kheetan said.
The Foreign Ministry did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the UN front man’s remarks.
Additionally, a Hamas terrorist who took part in abducting Nurit Cooper, Amiram Cooper and Alexander Dancyg from Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7 was killed in a strike on Sunday, the IDF announced.
The strike in the southern Gaza Strip killed Osama Kamal Shehadeh Abu Teim, a commander of a cell in Hamas’s military wing.
On October 7, Abu Teim raided Nir Oz and took part in abducting the three hostages, according to the military.
The IDF said that during the war and recently, Abu Teim acted to advance attacks on troops and Israeli civilians, and he was therefore targeted.

The name of the minister Awad allegedly planned to target was not disclosed by the authorities, but by the minister himself.
“This is the ninth time terror groups have made me a target and have tried to harm me,” Ben Gvir said in a post on X, thanking the authorities for protecting him, and vowed to continue implementing his controversial policies.
The police and Shin Bet did not describe how the suspect had been planning to carry out the attack.
Among the other known attempts to kill the minister was a plot uncovered by the Shin Bet in September by would-be assassins in a Hebron-based Hamas cell to utilize explosive-laden drones, and a plan busted in April 2024.

And despite Trump’s announcement, the US State Department continued to strongly advise against travel to Lebanon due to the security risks involved.
"Do not travel to Lebanon for any reason due to the risk of crime, terrorism, unrest, kidnapping, landmines, and armed conflict," a State Department advisory said.
The Federal Aviation Administration said it "looks forward to working with airlines and our interagency partners to implement the President’s directive and support the safe return of flights to Lebanon." There was no immediate comment from the US Transportation Department.
Aoun came to Tuesday’s meeting aiming to secure US support for the Lebanese Armed Forces, which is tasked with helping disarm Hezbollah. He has also been pushing for the US to urge Israel to hasten its withdrawal of troops from southern Lebanon.
Trump’s announcement on the resumption of flights did not mention either of these issues.
Direct flights between the US and Lebanon were suspended in 1985 by president Ronald Reagan’s administration following the hijacking of TWA Flight 847 by Lebanese Islamist terrorists, who brutally killed a US Navy diver and held dozens of US nationals hostage for more than two weeks.
Lebanon currently has one international airport, in south Beirut next to Dahiyeh, a Hezbollah stronghold that has been subjected to heavy Israeli bombardment during successive wars, though last month it began moving to convert an airbase near the Syrian border to a passenger hub.
Beirut airport has continued to operate during the several Israel-Hezbollah conflicts since 2023, only closing briefly during periods of major escalation. Lebanon has been forced to repeatedly pursue international guarantees that Israel will not target Beirut airport, which it has previously accused Hezbollah of using to transport money and weapons.
Lebanese authorities have repeatedly denied the Israeli allegations, though Beirut has reportedly conducted a large-scale purge of Hezbollah’s presence at the airport, doing enough to even satisfy Israel and the US, according to US and Lebanese officials.

‘WEAPONIZATION OF CULTURAL HERITAGE’ Meanwhile,

"Hezbollah constructed a massive network of terror tunnels directly beneath the ancient site and launched approximately 400 rockets at Israeli civilians from this compound," the Foreign Ministry continued in a statement, adding that the Lebanese state "bears full responsibility for allowing a terrorist organization to exploit its sovereign territory and sensitive heritage sites."
Hezbollah launched hundreds of rockets from the Beaufort Ridge toward northern Israel during the current round of fighting, mainly at the border community of Metula, the military says.
"UNESCO’s silence on Hezbollah’s systematic desecration of Beaufort, while targeting Israel’s defensive operations, is a moral abdication," Israel said.
The Foreign Ministry also blasted the Paleostinian delegation to UNESCO for trying to turn the West Bank site of Sebastia into a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
"Sebastia is the historic, biblical capital of the ancient Kingdom of Israel," said the Foreign Ministry. "The attempt to portray the site as facing an emergency is entirely unsupported by professional evaluation, and serves only as a political tool to erase the site’s profound, well-documented Jewish and Christian history."
"The real threat to Sebastia is the Paleostinian Authority’s own record of neglect and complicity, which has allowed the ancient ruins to suffer rampant vandalism, theft, and desecration," it said.
"UNESCO cannot remain silent when Death Eaters systematically hijack heritage sites," the statement continued, "nor can it allow its platform to be exploited to erase well-documented history."

I wanna see the TSA advance team that goes in to certify the Beirut airport before flights commence. Amazed to see they have a working main deck loader there. I'd definitely plan on a 3 hour ground time with zero fuel uplift, live in/ferry out to expedite the transit. It has been a HUGE pain in the tuckus to get freight to Lebanon since forever. Actually dropped cargo in Damascus and convoyed it across the Green Line if you can believe that. Gotta say that the freight rate is gonna be sky high to drop cargo off there but somebody will be willing to pay it (cash in advance).

Kuwait said that Iranian missiles struck power plants and water facilities, forcing the government to call for the rationing of electricity at the height of summer in one of the hottest countries in the world.
Iran and the United States have traded intense fire over the past 10 days, with the US military carrying out nightly strikes on military and industrial sites across the country.
Despite the heavy damage caused, a new American intelligence has reportedly suggested that the ongoing US strikes are unlikely to change Iran’s negotiating position, amid a deadlock in talks over the Straight of Hormuz and Tehran’s nuclear program, which mediators have pushed to restart in recent days.
In the Gulf, the Kuwaiti government said Iran had struck desalination and power plants for a fourth straight day on Monday night. Authorities said the attacks sparked fires and caused damage. Some 90 percent of Kuwait’s drinking water comes from desalination, making the attacks a matter of life and death for the tiny nation. Additionally, most desalination plants in the Gulf are integrated power and water production facilities because the process requires intensive energy input.
The small Gulf country’s authorities have called on the public to consume less energy so that they can maintain round-the-clock electricity as the grid comes under Iranian attack. Despite being one of the largest crude producers in the OPEC oil cartel, Kuwait regularly has trouble meeting local electric demand, especially during the summertime, when temperatures top 50º C (120º F).
In nearby Bahrain, where residents have been waking up to sirens and explosions for weeks, several waves of missile and drone attacks were reported throughout the day on Tuesday. Iran said it targeted infrastructure in Bahrain belonging to US tech company Amazon in response to what they described as a US strike on the construction site of Iran’s planned Darkhovin nuclear power plant.
Iranian state media reported that Iranian forces also targeted accommodation facilities of US military personnel at Bahrain’s Sheikh Isa Air Base. There was no immediate comment from the US military, Bahrain or Amazon on the reported incidents, which Rooters was unable to verify. The tiny island kingdom is home to the US Navy’s 5th Fleet.
In Jordan, the military said Tuesday that Iran targeted it with five drones and three missiles, all of which were shot down. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said they targeted a US military site in the kingdom.
The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has issued an updated advisory on the reported attack against a vessel in the Strait of Hormuz, stating that the crew has now abandoned ship.
Additionally, the British military’s United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations center said a tanker came under attack early Tuesday in the strait off Oman, forcing the crew to abandon the vessel. The IRGC claimed the attack, as well as two other attacks on ships Monday in the waterway.
The route around Oman has been the one the US military has encouraged ships to travel to avoid Iran’s control, though Iran has regularly fired on ships using that route.
US KEEPS BOMBING, BUT ASSESSES IT’S UNLIKELY TO CHANGE IRAN’S POSITION Meanwhile,

Iranian state media reported that explosions were heard in Fars, Hormozgan, Ilam, Kerman, and Sistan and Balochistan ...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Despite the continued bombing, a new US intelligence assessment has reportedly said that the ongoing American strikes on Iran, in their current scope, are unlikely to change Iran’s negotiating position, according to The Washington Post.
As long as back-and-forth strikes continue, said the assessment, Iran and the US will be caught between peace and war indefinitely, according to the report.
The paper did not specify whether the report examines the potential effect of a different pattern of operations by the US military.
The White House has been briefed on the assessment, the Post added.

The IDF says it fired warning shots after Lebanese soldiers crossed into Israel's security zone in southern Lebanon today, outside of one of the pilot zones where the Lebanese Armed Forces is being deployed.
According to the military, troops stationed in the Zawtar al-Sharqiyah area identified LAF soldiers and heavy machinery crossing into the IDF's buffer zone by around 150 meters and "breaching barriers."
The LAF was supposed to deploy to the adjacent town of Zawtar al-Gharbiya, following the IDF's withdrawal.
The IDF says that the LAF's actions were "contrary to the understandings between the parties," and that the troops in the area "fired warning shots into the air only, which did not endanger the Lebanese army personnel, to distance them from the area."
The LAF soldiers withdrew from the area, and no injuries were reported.
