The migration authority said those detained were found to be residing in Turkey without valid residence permits or other required immigration documents. It did not specify how many had been deported, transferred to removal centers or released pending immigration proceedings.
Authorities also reported detaining more than 6,000 people on suspicion of involvement in migrant smuggling during the same six-month period, saying investigations and border enforcement operations remain ongoing.
Turkey has intensified efforts in recent years to curb irregular migration through increased border surveillance, police raids, and cooperation between security agencies and the coasties. Officials say the operations are intended to enforce immigration laws, combat human smuggling networks and strengthen border security.

Ottoman Turkish authorities maintain that deportations are conducted in accordance with national immigration laws and international obligations.
[KhaamaPress] Pakistani authorities have finalized preparations for a new phase of deportations that could see around 20,000 Afghan nationals returned from the northwestern city of Peshawar to Afghanistan, according to a report by The Express Tribune, as Islamabad continues its nationwide campaign against undocumented foreigners.
The Express Tribune reported on Friday, July 10, that authorities in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province have completed preparations for a phased deportation operation targeting Afghan nationals without valid legal documents or with expired residency permits. The newspaper said police, district authorities, and security agencies have finalized operational plans in coordination with the federal government.
According to the report, police and security agencies in Peshawar have prepared lists of Afghan nationals expected to be included in the operation. Federal authorities are also expected to assist provincial officials in carrying out the deportation process.
The newspaper reported that the operation is expected to begin after the conclusion of the ongoing nationwide polio vaccination campaign, although Pakistani authorities have not announced an official start date.
Under the reported plan, Afghan families from different parts of Peshawar will first be transferred to the Nasir Bagh transit center, where officials will complete registration, identity verification, and administrative procedures before transporting them to the Torkham border crossing for return to Afghanistan.
According to The Express Tribune, authorities have collected information on Afghan residents living in several areas of Peshawar, including Afghan Colony, Nasir Bagh, Chamkani, Charsadda Road, Ring Road, and Board Bazaar. Officials have also reportedly compiled a separate list of Afghan nationals employed in markets, factories, workshops, and other commercial establishments as part of the preparations.
Pakistan launched its nationwide campaign to deport undocumented foreign nationals in October 2023, saying the policy is intended to enforce immigration laws, improve border management, and address security concerns. Since then, hundreds of thousands of Afghans have returned or been deported to Afghanistan through the Torkham and Spin Boldak border crossings, according to Pakistani authorities and United Nations agencies.
The deportation campaign has drawn repeated concern from the United Nations, the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and human rights organizations. They have warned that many Afghans being returned face severe humanitarian conditions, limited access to livelihoods, and potential protection risks, particularly women, girls, journalists, former government employees, and others considered vulnerable under Taliban rule.
Pakistan has hosted one of the world’s largest Afghan refugee populations for more than four decades. Many Afghans fled to Pakistan following the Taliban’s return to power in August 2021, while others remain in the country awaiting resettlement to third countries, including the United States, Canada, Germany, Australia, and other nations.

BREAKING: Two videos leaked today show last night's Iranian ballistic missile attack. They appear to show the IRGC Aerospace Force using hypersonic ballistic missiles, making them extremely difficult for the U.S. Army to intercept, even with its THAAD anti-ballistic missile systems.
In the videos, surface-to-air missiles can be seen being launched by what is most likely a U.S. Army Patriot PAC-3 battery protecting King Faisal Air Base in Jordan. The interception attempt fails, and the Iranian ballistic missiles launched by the IRGC Aerospace Force strike the base.
A total of four ballistic missiles are seen hitting the air base.

[Rudaw] Several explosions were heard in Erbil on Wednesday evening, with eyewitnesses and residents in the northern part of the Kurdish capital telling Rudaw that the blasts were caused by drones. The series of attacks notably coincides with the landmark visit of Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi to the United States.
Video footage obtained by Rudaw showed projectiles exploding in the sky over the Ganjan City residential community on the northeastern outskirts of Erbil along the Baharka road, as well as over the predominantly Christian suburb of Ankawa in the northern part of the Kurdish capital.
A Kurdish security source also told Rudaw that at least "six one-way attack drones were intercepted over Erbil."
Later on Wednesday, the Erbil-based Counter-Terrorism Directorate confirmed that the US-led Coalition had "intercepted and shot down eight explosive-laden drones" over Erbil "between 8:53 pm and 9:20 pm," local time.
"No casualties were reported," the directorate added.
THE TIMING
The series of attacks comes as Iraqi Prime Minister Zaidi began a landmark visit to the United States on Monday, where he met with US President Donald Trump ...The cad! Twice caught beating wimmin!... and senior American officials to discuss elevating Baghdad-Washington ties to a partnership level.
Zaidi on Wednesday met with US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth to discuss ways to enhance military cooperation with Iraq. "To deepen our partnership, Iraq must assert its illusory sovereignty and disarm the Iran-aligned militias responsible for 600+ attacks on U.S. personnel this spring," Hegseth said in a statement on X.
Notably, ahead of the visit, the Iran-aligned Islamic Resistance® in Iraq (IRI) group expressed its "principled rejection" of the trip, citing ongoing US-Israeli military operations against "innocent people in Iraq, Iran, Leb ...The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... , Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... , and Paleostine."
In a statement released Sunday, the IRI said "the continued presence of US forces on Iraqi soil represents an occupation," adding that "one of the government’s priorities must be to work, through various means, to end it according to the announced schedule" by the end of September.

According to Rudaw tracking, the majority of the attacks were concentrated in Erbil province, which recorded 560 drone and missile attacks by early April.
The US and Iran agreed on April 8 to a preliminary Pakistain-brokered ceasefire to create space for negotiations. On the same day, the IRI announced a halt to its military operations, which have since significantly declined.
[Rudaw] A drone crashed Wednesday at Iraq's Grand Faw Port in the southernmost Basra province, causing no injuries or damage, local officials told Rudaw. The incident coincided with neighboring Kuwait reporting dozens of projectiles launched from Iran, including more than 30 unmanned aerial vehicles.
“Local authorities were notified on Wednesday morning after a drone crashed into the port’s container yard,”Faw Mayor Waleed al-Sharifi told Rudaw’s Mushtaq Ramadan, adding that the aircraft was “completely destroyed upon impact.”
Sharifi added that the incident “caused no damage to the port’s facilities and resulted in no casualties.”
Iraq’s Grand Faw Port is located on the tip of the al-Faw Peninsula, sitting directly across a narrow marine channel from Kuwait's Bubiyan Island.
The drone crash came just hours after Kuwait reported that dozens of Iranian projectiles had been launched toward its territory.
Kuwaiti Defense Ministry Spokesperson Colonel Saud Abdulaziz al-Atwan said in a Tuesday statement that the Sheikhdom's forces are "engaging hostile attacks resulting from the blatant Iranian aggression" against Kuwait. The Sheikhdom’s defense ministry later in the day detailed that 33 drones, one ballistic missile, and five cruise missiles were launched by Iran at Kuwaiti territory. Four Kuwaiti armed forces servicemen were injured, the ministry added, noting that after "receiving the necessary medical care and treatment, their condition is stable."
[IsraelTimes] Two Palestinians who were allegedly manufacturing explosive devices were nabbed by Israeli commandos in the West Bank last night, the military says.
The IDF says troops of the Duvdevan Commando Unit carried out a raid in the Ramallah area and captured two wanted Palestinians “who produced explosives intended to harm IDF troops operating in the area.”
The commandos also apprehended a “weapons dealer who was in the possession of numerous weapons,” the army adds.
[IsraelTimes] An Israeli woman was lightly injured after Palestinians hurled stones at her car in the West Bank this morning, the military and medics say.
The Magen David Adom ambulance service says it treated a 62-year-old woman who was injured by the stone-throwing on the Route 60 Highway, near the Palestinian village of Sinjil.
The IDF says two other cars were damaged in the area by the stones.
“Forces began searches for suspects,” the military says, adding that troops have also encircled Sinjil amid that effort.

An Israeli soldier performing mandatory service was sentenced to five years in prison on Wednesday for carrying out espionage tasks on behalf of Iran, the Israel Defense Forces announced.
The soldier had been convicted of contact with a foreign agent and delivering information liable to benefit the enemy, following a joint investigation by the Military Police, the Israel Police, and the Shin Bet.
The IDF said that in 2025, the soldier received messages on Telegram from various individuals, some of whom were identified with Iran, containing various job offers. One Iranian handler offered the soldier money in exchange for "various photography tasks."
The soldier sent the Iranian handler two videos showing missile interceptions that he had filmed at civilian locations — not army bases — during the 12-day war with Iran in June 2025, according to the investigation.
He received payment for one of the videos.
Additionally, the soldier sent the Iranian handler several videos from civilian sites, including one featuring a missile impact, that he found online.
"Ultimately, after feeling pressured, the defendant informed a member of his unit that he had been in contact with a foreign agent, and the following day he was arrested by the Shin Bet," the military said.
Military prosecutors sought to sentence the soldier to seven years with additional penalties, "emphasizing the severity and risk inherent in the defendant’s actions and the need to deter both the defendant and others."
In its ruling, the military court took into account that the soldier did not provide military information or any other information obtained through his role in the IDF, as well as the fact that he cut off contact with the Iranian handler and reported the incident to his commanders.
The court therefore sentenced him to five years in prison, along with a suspended sentence, a fine of NIS 1,000, and the demotion to the rank of private — the lowest rank in the IDF.
The soldier’s identity and the unit he served in remain barred from publication.

Media outlets in Gaza affiliated with Hamas reported that three people were killed overnight in an Israeli strike on a house in Deir al-Balah.
According to the reports, the three were a married couple — Omar Abu Qasem and Asma Abu Qasem — and their six-year-old daughter, Habiba.
Their three-year-old son, Sami, survived but was injured, medics said.
An Israeli military official told The Times of Israel that the strike targeted a Hamas operative.
On Tuesday, a woman and six coppers were among those killed in an airstrike on a cop shoppe in the densely populated Jabaliya refugee camp in northern Gaza, hospital officials said. A man died in the bombing of a tent camp in Khan Younis in the south, Nasser Hospital officials said. And Israeli forces shot and killed a child in the Muwasi area outside the southernmost city of Rafah, according to hospital officials.
The Israeli military did not immediately comment on the strikes in central and southern Gaza. In a statement on the attack in Jabaliya, it claimed that four of the slain coppers were Hamas operatives.
One of the officers, Col. Mohamad Marwan Salem, was a senior police commander and head of the Jabaliya cop shoppe, the Hamas-run Interior Ministry said.
Hamas, which ruled Gaza for years, maintains an armed wing as well as police and security services that are overseen by its Interior Ministry. Throughout the war, Israel has targeted local police. Israel’s military has said it considers cop shoppes legitimate targets if they’re "being used to advance military activities, or if those present are military operatives involved in advancing terrorist activities."
It did not say what military activities it believed were taking place at the Jabaliya cop shoppe. Hamas says the police force is engaged in maintaining law and order.
MOROCCO SIGNS ON TO JOIN STABILIZATION FORCE
Trump’s Gaza peace plan envisions, in its second phase, allowing a US-backed Paleostinian technocratic committee to assume power from Hamas, the deployment of an international security force, and the start of the reconstruction of Gaza, which has been devastated by the war.
Morocco signed an agreement Wednesday to participate in the International Stabilization Force (ISF) for Gaza, state media reported.
The agreement was signed in Rabat at a meeting attended by Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, senior defense officials, and Board of Peace envoy for Gaza Nickolay Mladenov, and with a delegation including the commander of the ISF, the state news agency MAP said.
The agreement "reflects the shared determination to contribute, through concrete humanitarian and security actions, to the establishment of a climate of peace and security in the region," MAP quoted a statement from the Moroccan defense administration as saying.
Trump’s Board of Peace and ISF leadership welcomed Morocco’s decision to join the initiative, citing its planned deployment of senior military officers, gendarmerie and police personnel, as well as the creation of a military field hospital, MAP said.
Morocco has been listed among ISF contributing countries since January, so the agreement appeared to be more of a formality.
While three other countries — Albania, Kazakhstan and Kosovo — have also agreed to contribute troops to the ISF — Morocco is slated to be the first of them to actually deploy troops in Gaza, officials familiar with the Board of Peace’s plans have told The Times of Israel.
The Board of Peace envisions Moroccan troops will be tasked with securing the borders of a humanitarian pilot zone that the Board of Peace aims to establish in the area of the flattened southern Gaza city of Rafah, the officials said.
But there is no timeline for when construction of that humanitarian zone will actually begin, with a senior Arab official familiar with the matter saying no major progress is expected until after the October Israeli elections, since Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government has become increasingly reticent to cooperate with any Gaza relief projects as the vote approaches.
Among the steps that Israel has dragged its feet on advancing has been the signing of Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) with each ISF contributor country, in order to establish the legal guardrails of foreign military personnel stationed abroad. ISF troops can’t deploy without those agreements being signed.
Another source familiar with the matter said ground is unlikely to break on the humanitarian pilot zone until early 2027, meaning the ISF won’t deploy before then regardless.
In the meantime, small delegations from ISF contributing countries are arriving in Israel and operating out of a base in the country’s south.

The talks included the disarmament of Hamas — which it has so far refused to do — and the Israeli military’s withdrawal from the strip, according to sources close to the talks, who said there had been little progress amid deep distrust between the sides.

[IsraelTimes] A Hamas terrorist who took part in the abduction of Col. Asaf Hamami, the commander of the Gaza Division’s Southern Brigade, and two of his soldiers, Staff Sgt. Tomer Ahimas and Sgt. Kiril Brodski, during the October 7, 2023, onslaught, was killed in a strike in the Gaza Strip yesterday, the IDF announces.
The strike in southern Gaza killed Hassam Shafai, a member of Hamas’s East Khan Younis Battalion, according to the military.
On October 7, Shafai raided Kibbutz Nirim, where Hamami and his team were killed battling the Hamas invasion, and took part in abducting their bodies.
The military says that Shafai, during the war and recently, advanced attacks and therefore he “posed a threat to our forces operating in the Gaza Strip.”
Hamas returned the body of Hamami in November 2025 as part of a hostage deal. The bodies of Ahimas and Brodski were recovered in military operations in Gaza in 2024.
