According to military sources, the explosion wounded Wahish and several of his escorts. He and one escort later died in hospital, while two others were injured.
Wahish a Salafi commander, was appointed commander of the First Division last month as part of a military reorganization. He was a veteran commander who had fought against the Houthis since 2013 and played a key role in operations along the western coast.
A prominent commander in the Saudi-backed forces was killed on Saturday alongside several bodyguards when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) targeted his vehicle in the coastal city of al-Khokha, south of Hodeida governorate, local sources reported.
Yahya Abdullah Wahish, the commander of the "First Division" in the forces led by Tariq Saleh, died instantly in the blast. Wahish, who is closely affiliated with the Islah party, had recently been appointed to his position as part of a restructuring process of armed factions in southern and eastern Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... While no group has grabbed credit for the attack, sources close to the late commander indicated that his appointment had sparked internal tensions with Tariq Saleh. [KhaamaPress] British police and prosecutors have dismantled an organized human smuggling network accused of illegally transporting 12 Afghan migrants colonists, including a child, into the United Kingdom, authorities said.
According to local media outlet Essex Live, the suspects were identified and arrested following a lengthy investigation led by the National Crime Agency (NCA) and supported by police and security agencies.
Investigators allege that the Essex-based criminal network used a truck fitted with concealed compartments to smuggle the migrants colonists into Britannia. The group of 12 included Afghan Sikh migrants colonists who were found hidden in dangerous conditions inside a secret compartment at the rear of the vehicle.
Authorities said the operation was led by a 69-year-old man from Clacton and his 52-year-old associate, who allegedly worked with other individuals, including members of an organized criminal group based in London, to coordinate the smuggling operation.
The case stems from a joint police and NCA operation carried out in west London in September 2019, when officers stopped the truck and discovered the migrants colonists concealed inside the vehicle.
Prosecutors say the network exploited vulnerable migrants colonists seeking to reach the United Kingdom and generated significant profits through illegal transportation operations. Investigators believe the group charged large sums of money for facilitating irregular entry into the country.
Britannia’s Crown Prosecution Service said suspects have faced charges including facilitating illegal immigration and money laundering. Some defendants have admitted their involvement, while cases against other alleged members of the network remain before the courts.

Three American men were arrested Friday in Kansas and California on charges that they conspired to provide material support to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.
Bisaam Ghafoor, 21, of Leawood, Kansas; 21-year-old Elias Shamsaldeen of Porterville, California; and 25-year-old Bereen Dzayee, of Lakeside, California, were arrested and charged for allegedly conspiring to support ISIS after collectively providing over $2,000 to an individual they understood to be a member of ISIS, according to the Justice Department.
The men all allegedly exchanged text messages with the individual, where Dzayee allegedly suggested that some of the targets used by a drone include U.S. Special Forces.
“This administration has put terrorists, cartels, and gangs on notice,” Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said in a statement. “Today’s arrest of three individuals who allegedly conspired to provide material support to ISIS makes clear our commitment to taking down terrorist networks — anywhere."
The men allegedly communicated from May 2025 through June 2026 about several plans to support ISIS, including through the provision of personnel, services and money, the department said. They also pledged allegiance to ISIS.
The criminal complaint containing the allegations was filed in the District of Kansas, though the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force in the Kansas City Field Office, the San Diego Field Office and the Sacramento Field Office investigated the cases.
The men were arrested in Kansas City, San Diego and Sacramento, California.

[Dawn] Security forces killed four snuffies in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media wing said on Thursday.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the four snuffies killed during the operations belonged to Fitna Al Khawarij, referring to the term used by the state to designate members of the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban ...mindless ferocity in a turban... Pakistain (TTP).
"On [the] reported presence of khwarij, an intelligence-based operation (IBO) was conducted by security forces in Dera Ismail Khan ... the Pearl of Pashtunistan ... district," ISPR said in a statement.
"During [the] conduct of the operation, own troops effectively engaged [the] khwarij location and after [an] intense exchange of fire, two khwarij ... were sent to hell."
ISPR added that another IBO was conducted in the Mohmand district of the province.
"In [the] ensuing skillful engagement, two more khwarij were effectively neutralised," the statement added.
It further said weapons and ammunition were recovered from the dead terrorists, who remained actively involved in terrorist activities in the area.
"Sanitisation operations are being conducted to eliminate any other kharji found in the area, as [the] relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision ’Azm e Istehkam’ (as approved by Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by security forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistain will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country," ISPR stated.
At the end of last month, 13 bad boyz were potted during a two-day operation in KP’s Darra Adamkhel area, including two Afghan nationals who belonged to the Tariq Gidar group — a TTP affiliate.
There has been a resurgence in terrorism in Pakistain since the Afghan Taliban returned to power in Kabul in 2021.
Islamabad has repeatedly urged the Taliban administration to dismantle terrorist sanctuaries on Afghan soil, particularly those linked to the banned TTP. Officials say those appeals have gone unheeded.

Earlier this week, security forces killed 17 Death Eaters during IBOs in different districts of Balochistan following the suicide kaboom on a train in Quetta. The IBOs were conducted in the districts of Mastung, Nushki, Khuzdar and Kech.

.... state have dismantled an alleged cross-border network involved in drug trafficking, illegal weapons distribution and money transfers, arresting six people, including an Afghan national, authorities said.
According to police, the operation led to the seizure of 1.035 kilograms of heroin, five pistols and 500,000 Indian rupees suspected to be proceeds from drug trafficking activities.
Authorities said the network maintained links with individuals based outside India and used social media platforms to coordinate the procurement, transportation and distribution of narcotics and weapons.
Preliminary investigations indicate that members of the group received instructions from handlers abroad before distributing drugs and firearms within India, police said.
One of the suspects, identified as Baz Mohammad, is an Afghan citizen who was residing in New Delhi. Police said he had previously been arrested in connection with narcotics-related offenses and allegedly played a managerial role within the network.
Officials added that two other suspects also had prior records linked to drug-related crimes.
Police said investigations are continuing into the group’s financial operations, including suspected money-transfer channels used to move proceeds from illegal activities. Efforts are also underway to identify and apprehend additional individuals connected to the network.
Punjab, which borders Pakistain, has long been a focal point for anti-narcotics operations due to its proximity to international trafficking routes. Indian authorities have repeatedly raised concerns about the smuggling of heroin, synthetic drugs and illegal weapons through cross-border networks operating in the region.
Indian security agencies have in recent years intensified efforts to disrupt trafficking syndicates that use encrypted messaging services and social media platforms to coordinate operations. Authorities say such networks increasingly rely on digital communication and transnational contacts to move drugs, weapons and illicit funds across borders.
The latest arrests come as law enforcement agencies across India continue investigations into organized criminal groups involved in narcotics trafficking and associated financial crimes.

[Rudaw] Kirkuk police announced on Saturday that more than 650 foreign nationals have been arrested since the beginning of the year for attempting to enter the province illegally.
"Since the start of this year, more than 650 foreign nationals, most of them Pak, Afghan, and Bangladeshi citizens, have been arrested after entering Kirkuk illegally," Kirkuk police spokesperson Amr Nuri told Rudaw.
Nuri said the individuals typically enter the Kurdistan Region through irregular routes before attempting to travel onward to Baghdad and other central and southern Iraqi provinces.
"Since the start of this year, more than 650 foreign nationals, most of them Pak, Afghan, and Bangladeshi citizens, have been arrested after entering Kirkuk illegally," Kirkuk police spokesperson Amr Nuri told Rudaw.
In one recent incident, security forces on Wednesday detained 25 Afghan nationals who were found hiding inside a cement truck in Kirkuk.
Kurdistan Region Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs spokesperson Aryan Ahmad told Rudaw that the issue is not one-sided, noting that a significant number of foreign workers also attempt to enter the Kurdistan Region illegally from other parts of Iraq.
"This phenomenon is mutual and not limited to those leaving the region; there are also people entering it illegally from Iraq," Ahmad said.
Ahmad added the Kurdistan Region’s labor and interior ministries are coordinating closely on the issue, and that joint efforts have contributed to a noticeable decline in illegal crossings.
Hassan Khawam, spokesperson for Iraq’s Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, said in February the Iraqi government had expelled 55,000 foreign workers over the previous two years for working illegally in the country, barring them from re-entering for two years.
Iraq also deported more than 35,000 residency violators in 2025, according to Alaa Hussein, director of Residence Affairs, who spoke to state media in November.
Under Iraqi residency law, individuals who enter the country illegally or fail to comply with deportation orders can face up to one year in prison or fines ranging from 500,000 to 1 million Iraqi dinars (approximately $333 to $666).
[NY Post] A 35-year-old man was killed and five others injured in a series of shootings on Sunday in central Israel near the occupied West Bank that police described as a suspected terror attack.
A police spokesperson said the suspected gunman, an Israeli Arab from the nearby Israeli city Tayibe, was also killed, and a firearm was found in his possession. Israeli media reported a second suspect was also killed.
"Large police forces remain at the scene, and searches are continuing," the police said in an earlier statement, urging the public to remain vigilant. Local media identified the 35-year-old dead man as an Israeli citizen.
Israel’s ambulance service said the man died from gunshot wounds. It described the incident as a drive-by shooting, with five others injured in shootings at three nearby locations, two of them seriously.
Police said they had located the suspected vehicle.
The shootings took place near the Palestinian West Bank city of Qalqilya. Palestinian militant group Hamas praised the attack but did not claim responsibility.
Israeli soldiers were deployed to one of the sites in central Israel and to a nearby Israeli settlement in the West Bank after the shootings, the military said.
The Magen David Adom ambulance service said it treated two men in their 30s shot at a gas station near Kochav Ya’ir, one of whom was in serious condition; a 31-year-old man and 61-year-old woman shot in the entrance to Tzur Yitzhak, both of them in moderate condition; and two men shot on the road outside Tzur Natan — a man of about 35 who succumbed to his wounds and a man in his 40s who was in serious condition.
After the attack began in Kochav Ya’ir, sirens sounded in Tzur Natan and Tzur Yitzhak warning of terrorist infiltration and calling on residents to barricade themselves at home.
The three communities, north of Tel Aviv, neighbor each other and lie close to the West Bank security barrier on the Israeli side. After the shootings near those communities, the terrorist drove to the nearby West Bank settlement of Sal’it, opened fire on the entrance to the settlement and fled after the local security chief shot back. No one was injured in that incident.
Israeli forces finally caught up to the terrorist on the outskirts of Tayibe, an Arab town just north of Kochav Ya’ir, and shot him dead. Security officials identified him as Omar Yassin, an Israeli citizen who resided in Tayibe. The military said it was carrying out further scans in the area in search of other possible suspects.
After initially saying the perpetrator who had been shot dead acted alone, police later said they arrested a second suspect, a man in his 20s also from Tayibe. Police said that officers received intelligence on a man who admitted to his involvement in the attack while searching for help in hiding from law enforcement. During his arrest, the suspect tried to stab police detectives with a glass bottle, police said. Officers managed to subdue him and take him into custody with no injuries.

The man killed in this morning’s terror shooting spree in central Israel is identified as Haim Kalomiti, 55, a reservist soldier from Tzur Natan.
Master Sgt. (res.) Kalomiti served in the Ephraim Regional Brigade as a regional defense soldier — reservists who are recruited by the military to defend their communities in the West Bank and along its border.
Alongside Kalomiti, the security coordinator for Tzur Natan was severely wounded in the attack, according to the military.
The security coordinator, also a reservist, was taken to a hospital and his family was notified, the army adds.
[IsraelTimes] A Hamas operative who was advancing attacks was killed in an airstrike in the southern Gaza Strip overnight, the IDF says.
Throughout the war and recently, Muhanad Othman Yassin Farwana, a commander of a Hamas cell, had “advanced numerous terror attack plans against IDF troops and the State of Israel, and posed an immediate threat to IDF troops operating in the area,” the military says.
“The terrorist was eliminated in a precise aerial strike in order to remove the threat,” the military adds.

[KhaamaPress] Iranian authorities have seized a commercial vessel in the Strait of Hormuz, according to Iranian state-affiliated media, marking the latest incident in one of the world’s most strategically important maritime chokepoints amid heightened tensions between Tehran and Washington.
Iran’s Fars News Agency reported on Saturday that the vessel, identified as belonging to the U.S.-based shipping company Arista, was detained by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) for allegedly violating navigation laws and transit regulations in the Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian media published images of the vessel and said the seizure occurred after Iranian forces detected what they described as unauthorized movements through the waterway. The report said four tankers attempted to leave the strait under the "guidance and encouragement" of the U.S. military.

The Lebanese army said an Israeli strike in southern Leb ...The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else?... on Saturday killed a senior commander, another officer and a soldier, as the IDF issued fresh evacuation warnings and Hezbollah continued launching drones toward Israeli troops and communities along the northern border.
According to the Lebanese Armed Forces, the strike targeted a military vehicle traveling on a road between Kfar Tebnit and Khardali in the Nabatieh area, killing a brigadier general, a captain and a soldier.
"The continued, deliberate, and repeated Israeli aggression against Lebanon, its people and its army only strengthens our resolve, faith and determination," the army said in its statement.
It said Israel’s attacks aim to thwart all efforts "to reach a solution that would restore stability, establish a comprehensive ceasefire and lead to the Israeli withdrawal from the occupied Lebanese territories."
The IDF later acknowledged carrying out the strike, saying the vehicle was "moving suspiciously" in an active combat zone where movement requires prior coordination with Israeli forces. The military said troops operating in the area had been on heightened alert due to intelligence warnings of potential Hezbollah attacks and information indicating the terror group was active in the vicinity.

"The Israeli enemy strike on the town of Zebdine in the Nabatieh district killed five people including a woman and a paramedic from the Risala Association, and maimed two people including a paramedic," a ministry statement said, referring to emergency responders affiliated with Hezbollah ally the Amal movement.
The strike came as the IDF ordered residents of five southern Lebanese localities — Aaramta, Machghara, Kafr Houna, Sejoud and Ansariyeh — to evacuate ahead of planned operations against Hezbollah.
In a statement in Arabic, IDF front man Col. Avichay Adraee instructed residents to move north of the Zahrani River, saying the military was "forced to act forcefully" in the area due to the presence of Hezbollah operatives and infrastructure, which he said violated the ceasefire agreement.

Following drone infiltration alerts in the border community of Zarit on Saturday morning, the IDF said an unmanned aerial vehicle crashed in southern Lebanon near an area where Israeli troops were operating. No injuries were reported.
Earlier, the military said it had intercepted one Hezbollah drone while two others impacted in an area of southern Lebanon where troops were deployed after warning sirens were activated in northern Israel. No casualties were reported in those incidents either.
The fighting was accompanied by a diplomatic spat between Lebanon and Iran.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi rejected comments made Friday by Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, who accused Tehran of using Lebanon as a "bargaining chip" in negotiations with the United States and said the Lebanese people were paying the price for Iranian interests.

The US military said it carried out strikes on Iranian radar sites in what it described as a defensive action after Iran launched four attack drones toward the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the military, all four drones were shot down after they "posed an immediate threat to regional maritime traffic." The radar sites targeted in the US strikes were located in Goruk and on Qeshm Island, CENTCOM said.
The exchange came days after Iranian drones heavily damaged a passenger terminal at Kuwait’s main airport, killing one person, wounding dozens and briefly shutting down the facility.
Hours after the overnight US strikes, Kuwait’s military said it was responding to "hostile" missile and drone attacks. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps later grabbed credit for attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain, saying it had targeted American military bases in the two Gulf states in retaliation for the US attacks.
US military officials said Iran had launched seven ballistic missiles toward Kuwait and Bahrain.
In a statement posted to X, US Central Command said it intercepted six of the missiles, while the seventh "did not reach its intended target."
"There are currently no reports of harm to US personnel, and Iranian claims of damaging US 5th Fleet headquarters in Bahrain are false," CENTCOM said.
The latest exchange marked another escalation in a series of tit-for-tat attacks that have tested the tenuous ceasefire and complicated efforts to secure a broader agreement extending the truce.
TRUMP: IRAN RETAINS 22% OF MISSILE ARSENAL
Despite the attacks raising new concerns that the ceasefire could collapse, Trump told news hounds Friday that "the situation with Iran seems to be going quite well."
"We’re going to come out of Iran very quickly and it’s going to be very strong one way or the other, whether it’s a piece of paper or the very tough way," Trump said at an event with farmers in Wisconsin. "The very tough way is maybe the easier way, but we’re going to come out, and your fertilizer prices are going to go way down, just like they were four months ago."
Trump increasingly appears to be boxed in on a conflict that has settled into a holding pattern. US and Iranian negotiators reached a tentative agreement a week ago to extend the ceasefire by 60 days and start a new round of talks on Iran’s nuclear program. But Trump has called for unspecified changes and Iranian officials have shown no public signs of signing off on the deal.
Asked on Friday why it was taking so long, Trump told NBC’s "Meet the Press" it was because "it’s a very hard thing for them."
"There are things they never thought they’d be doing that they’re going to have to do. They’ve got no choice, and it takes a little while," he said in the interview. "Vietnam lasted 19 years, I’m into my third month."
Trump also said Tehran retained roughly 21 to 22 percent of its missile arsenal despite widespread joint US-Israel strikes in the recent 40-day Iran war.
"Most of the drone factories have been knocked out, most of the launching pads have been knocked out and most of the missile manufacturing areas have been knocked out," Trump said. "But they still have capacity. They have some missiles, they have some drones. I would say percentage-wise, maybe 21-22% of their missiles. It’s a lot of missiles, but it’s not what it was when we first attacked."
Trump’s statements appear to contradict a recent Channel 12 report, which said that updated US intelligence assessments indicated that roughly two-thirds of Iran’s missile launchers remain operational. Earlier wartime estimates suggested that about half had been destroyed.
US PREPARES FOR IRAN NUCLEAR TALKS Meanwhile,

Trump has repeatedly insisted that any agreement ending the conflict must include guarantees that Iran will not develop a nuclear weapon.
Iran is believed to possess roughly 900 pounds of highly enriched uranium that was stored at underground sites struck by US bombers during last year’s conflict. Tehran has long maintained that it must preserve its ability to enrich uranium for civilian purposes and denies seeking to develop nuclear weapons. However,
if you can't say something nice about a person some juicy gossip will go well... the underground stockpile is enriched to 60% — a level that has no civilian application and is a short step from weapons-grade.
Trump has repeatedly said the stockpile must be removed from Iran or destroyed, and claimed that Iran has agreed to this under a potential deal — but the regime has denied this.
FROZEN FUNDS
A senior Iranian official said that the main sticking point remaining in negotiations was the release of frozen Iranian funds.
Iran has been subject to asset freezes and sweeping sanctions by the United States and other Western countries since its 1979 Islamic revolution that toppled the US-backed Shah, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.
In an interview broadcast on Friday, Mohsen Rezaei, a former commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and an adviser to Iran’s supreme leader, said the talks were failing over the release of Iranian assets.
"If he (Trump) wants to reach an agreement with Iran, this $24 billion is a test of trust that Iran wants to have with Trump," he told CNN ...formerly the Cable News Network, now who know what it might stand for... , according to an English translation of his remarks provided by the channel.
"This is a test that America must pass and the path will be opened," he said, adding that "this is our own money, not America’s money."
While there is no official figure for the total amount of frozen Iranian assets, media reports have estimated the sum at between $100 billion and $123 billion.
Iran has conditioned an agreement to end the war on several demands, including the release of the frozen funds.

Rezaei warned that Iran would "drag the war" beyond the Gulf if the United States resumed hostilities, bringing "another dimension to the war."

Cpt. Shahar Gamla, 23, a deputy squad commander in the Commando Brigade’s Egoz Unit, from Natur, was severely injured by a Hezbollah drone late Thursday. He was taken to a hospital, and on Saturday morning, succumbed to his wounds, the army said.
In a separate incident on Friday, Sgt. Ohad Yaari, 21, of the Givati Brigade’s Shaked Battalion, from Rehovot, was killed by a suspected accidental firearm discharge in southern Lebanon. The Israel Defense Forces said that the circumstances of the incident were under investigation by the Military Police.
The deadly incidents came as Israel continued its heavy bombardment of southern Lebanon, saying Saturday that it struck around 150 Hezbollah infrastructure sites across southern Lebanon over the weekend.
The targets included weapon depots, command centers, rocket launchers, and other infrastructure, according to the IDF.
Earlier Saturday, the army issued mass evacuation orders to much of the country’s south, telling residents to move north of the Zahrani River ahead of IDF strikes against Hezbollah in the area.
The Hiram hospital in southern Lebanon’s Tyre said one of its nurses was killed in a strike while heading to work.
The Israeli military also conducted several strikes across east L
esraeli troops in southern Lebanon, and an artillery position near Israel’s side of the border. Sirens continued sounding throughout the day in northern Israel amid ongoing drone attacks.
Additionally, one apparent Hezbollah drone struck near Israeli forces in southern Lebanon, the army said Saturday night. No injuries were caused in the incident.
