In Kuwait, two border guards were killed "while performing their national duty," the interior ministry said, without elaborating on the circumstances.
Fuel tanks at Kuwait’s international airport were targeted in a drone attack, the military said, and the official Kuwait News Agency said a fire at the airport was brought under control, without any "significant injuries."
The military called the drone attack "a direct targeting of vital infrastructure."
A separate statement said "some civilian facilities sustained material damage as a result of falling fragments and debris from interception operations."
’DRONE THREATS’
Kuwait’s national oil company announced a "precautionary" cut to its crude production, as the country’s military said Sunday that it had responded to several drone and missile attacks.
Authorities said Kuwait’s main building for social security was targeted, causing material damage, and that it would not receive visitors there on Sunday.
Bahrain’s interior ministry said Sunday that an Iranian drone attack damaged a water desalination plant, accusing Tehran of "randomly" targeting civilian infrastructure.
The IRGC claimed on Saturday that it had struck the United States’ Juffair base in Bahrain, adding it had been used to attack an Iranian desalination plant earlier in the day.
Bahrain’s national communication office later said the Iranian attack on the desalination facility had no impact on water supplies or network capacity.
Falling missile debris also injured three people and damaged a university building in the Muharraq area, the interior ministry said in a separate statement.
Saudi Arabia’s defense ministry said on Sunday that it intercepted 33 drones, adding there were no reports of damage or casualties from the attacks.
Among them was a drone aimed at Riyadh’s diplomatic quarter, also thwarted with no material damage or civilian injuries, the ministry’s front man said, adding the capital and surrounding areas were targeted by 26 drones.
One drone targeted the Shaybah oil field in the southeast of the country, according to the Saudi defense ministry.
’AT THE DISPOSAL OF THE ENEMY’
The United Arab Emirates said its air defenses detected 17 ballistic missiles on Sunday — destroying 16, while one fell into the sea — and intercepted 113 of 117 drones detected, with four falling inside the country.
Despite the Iranian president’s apology to the Gulf countries for earlier strikes, hours later, its judiciary chief said strikes would continue on sites in Gulf countries that were "at the disposal of the enemy."
UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan said in a rare televised address that the Emirates were in "a period of war" and "will emerge stronger" from it.
Dubai briefly closed its main airport — the world’s busiest for international traffic — on Saturday after authorities said an unidentified object was intercepted nearby.
A witness told AFP of a loud explosion in the area followed by a cloud of smoke. Footage verified by AFP recorded the sound of a drone followed by a loud explosion and plumes of smoke close to an airport concourse.
The government said there had been "a minor incident resulting from the fall of debris after an interception", without directly mentioning the airport. It said there were no injuries.
The short answer is they are mad, but that lacks explanatory power.
Let us ponder some possibilities:
1) They looked at the payoff matrix given the current situation and decided they liked "Islamic Apocalypse" better than any of the other choices such as "Live Happily Ever After". This is both a rational choice and a bit mad.
2) It makes for a great plot twist. Who expected to see the Arabs and the Juice fighting their common enemy, the Persians, standing if not together at least nearby as they deal with this annoyance. My compliments to whoever thought this one up!
3) It worked before. Way back in the pre-Islamic days when the world was desert tribes, attacking and subjugating your neighbors was a viable strategy. (see Mohamed, et al)
Unfortunately, this does not scale to the modern world. Due to global interconnections, now you are not just fighting the neighboring tribe and whatever resources they can muster, but multiple aircraft carriers from halfway around the world. It is bad luck to be the small dog in the fight, no matter how many buckets of sand you have.

The same type of bomb was used in high-profile terror attacks in La Belle France, the UK, Belgium and New Delhi over more than a decade — often with fatal consequences.
Fortunately, it failed to go off during the Saturday afternoon clash between demonstrators backing right-wing activist Jake Lang and pro-Moslem counter-protesters.
The incident unfolded during a planned anti-Moslem protest organized by right-wing agitator Jake Lang outside Gracie Mansion — which sparked a rowdy confrontation with counter protesters that quickly turned violent mostly peaceful.
Video footage shows several scuffles that led to six arrests — including the two accused wannabe bombers.
One of Lang’s crew, a protester named Ian McGinnis, was accused of pepper spraying counter protesters and slapped with charges of assault, reckless endangerment and unlawful possession of noxious matter, according to sources.
The bomb — a sports drink bottle filled with TATP and wrapped in construction tape — was hurled at Lang’s crew during one of the encounters, police and sources said.
Police secured the device and ended the threat.
On Sunday, NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch dismissed earlier reports that the device was not dangerous and said it would have killed or maimed anyone near it had it went kaboom!.
"The NYPD Bomb Squad has conducted a preliminary analysis of a device that was ignited at a protest yesterday and has determined that it is not a hoax device or smoke bomb, Tisch wrote on X.
"It is, in fact, an improvised bomb that could have caused serious injury or death," she said."I want to again thank the brave members of the NYPD, who ran towards danger without hesitation and quickly apprehended the suspects."

[Dawn] A child was killed and four people were left injured on Sunday after a mortar shell allegedly fired from the Afghan side landed in a residential area during an exchange of fire near the Pak-Afghan border in North Wazoo, police said.
According to police sources, the incident occurred at around 7:30pm when heavy firing erupted between both sides of the border in the Ghulam Khan area.
During the exchange of fire, a mortar shell fired from across the border fell in the nearby village of Golakhel and went kaboom! in a residential locality, they added. It's a Ramadan tradition!
As a result of the earth-shattering kaboom, they said a minor went titzup while four other people sustained injuries.
Local residents immediately took the injured to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Miranshah ... headquarters of al-Qaeda in Pakistain and likely location of Ayman al-Zawahiri. The Haqqani network has established a ministate in centered on the town with courts, tax offices and lots of madrassas... , where they were being provided medical treatment.
Hospital sources said some of the injured were at death's door, while doctors and medical staff remained engaged in emergency treatment.
Following the incident, Tehsildar Miranshah Ghani Wazir and Tehsildar Ghulam Khan Aziz Wazir reached the hospital’s emergency ward on the directives of North Waziristan Deputy Commissioner Yousaf Karim.
They directed doctors and hospital staff to ensure the provision of all necessary medical facilities to the injured.
Officials said the emergency department of the hospital had been put on high alert and treatment of the injured was continuing.

One of the slain Israeli troops was named Sunday afternoon as Sgt. First Class Maher Khatar, 38, a heavy machinery operator in the 91st "Galilee" Regional Division’s combat engineering unit, from Majdal Shams.
The name of the second soldier is to be released later, the army said.
The incident took place near an army post in southern Lebanon, just across from the Israeli border community of Manara.
According to a preliminary IDF probe, the incident began when a tank got stuck amid operations in the area. The IDF sent a Puma armored personnel carrier and two D9 armored bulldozers in an attempt to extract it.
One of the D9 bulldozers was struck by a projectile, possibly an anti-tank missile or a mortar, causing a blaze that killed the two troops, according to the IDF’s probe. One officer was also lightly injured in the incident.
Rocket and drone sirens sounded repeatedly overnight and throughout Sunday morning and afternoon, sending residents of Haifa, Karmiel, Safed, Rosh Hanikra and many other areas in northern Israel scrambling for shelter.
The IDF said that Hezbollah has been launching most of its attacks from deeper within southern Lebanon, and not from close to the border.
At least three drones launched from Lebanon were downed by Israel in the north mid-morning, the IDF said. A prolonged chase after one of them set off sirens in a wide swath of territory.

Overnight between Saturday and Sunday, Israel struck a swanky Beirut hotel, killing at least four people. The IDF said it carried out a assassination on key commanders of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Amid the heavy cross-border fire, more than 100 Iranians, including some diplomats, were evacuated from Beirut overnight, a Lebanese official told AFP on Sunday.
"A total of 117 Iranians, including diplomats and embassy staff, were evacuated on a Russian plane that left Beirut overnight from Saturday to Sunday," the official said on condition of anonymity.
The evacuation came after Lebanon’s government on Thursday banned any activity by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps — a main backer of Hezbollah. The government also imposed a visa requirement on Iranians entering the country as part of measures to pressure Hezbollah.
The official said the Iranian embassy had informed Lebanese authorities beforehand of the evacuation operation, which was carried out via Beirut’s international airport. The official added that the plane was heading to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire... , without specifying the final destination of the Iranians.
The body of an Iranian diplomat killed during the war, along with those of his wife and three children, were also on board the plane, the official added.
The IDF on Sunday reiterated its warning to Lebanese civilians in all of southern Lebanon to evacuate amid the fighting against Hezbollah.
"Hezbollah’s terror activities are forcing the IDF to act against it with force in the area," said army front man Col. Avichay Adraee.
"Airstrikes are ongoing as the IDF operates with great force in the area. Therefore, for your safety, we once again urge you to evacuate your homes immediately and head north of the Litani River," he said.
The warning was first issued by the IDF on Wednesday. The military estimates that over 420,000 Lebanese civilians have so far evacuated their homes since Hezbollah renewed its rocket attacks on Israel last week, prompting fresh IDF activity against the terror group.
The IDF completed new waves of strikes in Tehran, hitting the IRGC Space and Satellite Command and 50 ammunition bunkers.
