[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Woke Washington state authorities were slammed after releasing an illegal immigrant truck driver accused of killing a father-of-two in a horror crash.
Indian national Kamalpreet Singh, 25, allegedly drove his semi-truck into the stopped car of Robert Pearson, 29, on December 11, killing the beloved father.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) issued a detainer for Singh following his arrest after it was found he was in the country illegally, but Washington authorities refused to honor the order.
Singh posted a $100,000 bond and was released from King County jail on Friday, per Fox News.
The Department of Homeland Security issued a scathing press release Tuesday slamming the move, saying Washington 'politicians chose to release this public safety threat back onto America’s roads.'
Washington is a sanctuary state, and the decision to release Singh was based on a state policy signed in 2019 by then-Governor Jay Inslee that restricted law enforcement's ability to comply with federal immigration authorities.
DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin told the Daily Caller that she was dismayed by the move, saying that 'these demented and dangerous sanctuary policies have deadly consequences.'
'Robert Pearson would still be alive today if the Biden administration hadn’t released this illegal alien into our country. How many more Americans have to be killed before Democrat politicians start to put the public’s safety ahead of politics?'
Officials said Singh illegally entered the US in 2023 in Lukeville, Arizona, but was 'released into this country by the Biden administration.'
A Washington State Patrol (WSP) spokesman confirmed to the Daily Caller that Singh was driving with a commercial driver's license issued by California. The Daily Mail has contacted the WSP for comment.
With Singh back on the streets, tributes poured in for Pearson after he lost his life in the crash, as his family said that 'in an instant, Blake was taken from us, leaving behind his loving wife Jess and their two young boys.'
'Jess is now facing the overwhelming challenge of supporting her family while grieving the loss of her husband,' the family wrote in a GoFundMe.
They added that Pearson's passing was an 'unimaginable loss' for his family, and his two young sons will not have to 'adjust to life without their dad.'
Following Singh's release on a $100,000 bond on Friday, Fox News reporter Bill Melugin first reported that Singh had crossed paths with law enforcement before.
Melugin cited senior ICE sources saying that after Singh was arrested in Arizona, he was not deported and was released back into the US by the Biden administration.
After allegedly crashing into Pearson last week, ICE issued a detainer order, which requests local law enforcement hold a foreign national for up to 48 hours after their ordinary release, so Homeland Security has more time to take custody and deport them.
The allegations that the illegal immigrant was driving with a California commercial driver's license follow a similar case in Florida in August, when asylum seeker Harjinder Singh was accused of killing three people when he made an illegal U-turn while also on the roads illegally.
Singh, of no relation to Kamalpreet Singh in Washington, allegedly had such poor English skills that he couldn't read street signs, but was handed a driver's license by California.
It is illegal for undocumented immigrants to obtain a commercial driver's license. However, a federal government investigation also found earlier this year that California had unlawfully issued 17,000 commercial driver's licenses to migrants.
The White House press secretary reposted Melugin's report on X, alleging that 'unqualified illegal alien drivers are a public safety threat.'
Karoline Leavitt said that President Trump and Department of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy 'will aggressively enforce our laws to protect the safety of American truckers, drivers, and passengers by ensuring anyone behind the wheel of a commercial vehicle is here legally, properly qualified, AND proficient in our national language - English!'
Following outrage over Washington's decision not to comply with federal authorities, Duffy threatened to withhold federal funding for highways in Blue states if they refused to do so.
'If we’re going to have drivers on American roadways, they need to be the best trained… because if operated incorrectly or inappropriately, these [vehicles] are lethal weapons on American roadways,' Duffy said in a press conference.
'We will pull every dollar possible from every single state that’s unwilling to work with this administration and these longstanding rules to make sure that when [an] American family gets in a car, they shouldn’t be worried that they have an unqualified foreigner operating an 80,000-pound big rig that could endanger their lives.'

[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] New York City police are on the hunt for a knifeman who stabbed a Jewish man in the chest after yelling 'I'm going to kill a Jew today.'
Elias Rosner, 35, got into an argument with the unidentified knifeman as he was walking down the street in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, just after 4pm on Tuesday.
Rosner, a member of the Lubavitch Hasidic community, told the New York Post about the knifeman's horrifying anti-Semitic rant.
'I was waiting in a crowd of Jewish people and this guy started spouting stuff,' he continued. '"I'm going to kill Jewish people, I'm going to kill a Jew today, I don't give a f***, we wouldn't be in this mess if the Holocaust had happened."'
According to Rosner, the man looked 'very serious' as he spouted the terrifying threats. 'I guess I was the one guy that had the bravery to look him in the eye,' he added.
'So, he was waiting. He set a trap up for me a block ahead. He came around the corner and it just started happening.'
Police described the incident as 'seemingly random' after the two bumped into each other on the street.
Random that it was Mr. Rosner, perhaps, but that man went there to kill himself a Jew.
'The unidentified individual made anti-Jewish statements and then proceeded to stab the victim in the chest with a knife,' according to the NYPD.
Rosner recalled that as the man brandished his knife he prepared to fight.
'I believe in standing up to bullies,' he told the outlet. 'I knew it was on. I luckily had taken off my sweater to use as a sarong to catch the blade. I could tell he wasn't going to be doing anything fancy.'
He said he was able to catch 'most of the force' from the knife with his sweater and 'that's basically what saved my life.'
The knife went through Rosner's chest near his heart, but he left the confrontation without serious injury.
Yaacov Behrman, a rabbi and spokesperson for the Chabad-Lubavitch headquarters, wrote on X that the suspect allegedly said 'F*** the Jews' and 'that it would be okay if the Holocaust happened today.'
Rosner was admitted to Kings County Hospital and later released.
'This was an antisemitic attack,' Behrman wrote. 'Hateful rhetoric always leads to violence.'
Footage of the attack has been circulating on social media as Rosner and the knifeman got into the dispute.
Video showed him following the suspect after their confrontation, at which point he turned and stabbed Rosner.
The suspect was last seen wearing jeans and a black varsity jacket with the word 'Genuine' on the back and '91' on the arm, images released from the NYPD showed.

Redlands Daily Facts (via JihadWatch) reported on the Friday shooting, explaining that a Redlands home was decorated for the Jewish feast of Hanukkah, the first day of which was Sunday. Jonpaul Sione Yohanan Cohen posted his account of the attack on his home and surveillance video on social media.
"My family and (I) were attacked by an antisemitic shooter tonight," Cohen wrote. "The group... accosted me publicly 3 minutes before the shooting by screaming ’free Paleostine *n-word*.’" The use of the N-word indicates to me that the attackers were more likely to be brainwashed lefties than Moslems.
Cohen added, "Our security camera caught sight of the shooter discharging at least 20 rounds from a yet unidentified projectile weapon at my family’s house and Chanukah decorations." Cohen also reported a further obscenity, shouted by the crazy button men as they drove off, which, based on the video, sounded like "f**k the Jews."
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A former manager of the Harvard Medical School morgue has been sentenced to eight years in prison for stealing and selling body parts 'as if they were baubles.'
Federal authorities have said Cedric Lodge, 58, was at the center of a ghoulish scheme in which he shipped brains, skin, hands and faces to buyers in multiple states after cadavers donated to Harvard were no longer needed for research.
His wife, Denise Lodge, 65, was also sentenced to just over a year in prison for assisting him.
The couple had previously pleaded guilty to charges related to the interstate transportation of stolen goods, with Cedric admitting he stole body parts from cadavers donated to Harvard Medical School's Anatomical Gift Program and sold them to buyers across the country.
Among the many gory body parts Cedric removed from the cadavers between 2018 and March 2020 were organs, brains, skin, hands, faces and dissected heads.
In one example, Cedric Lodge provided skin to a buyer so it could be tanned into leather and bound into a book, a 'deeply horrifying reality,' Assistant US Attorney Alisan Martin said in a court filing.
'In another, Cedric and Denise Lodge sold a man's face - perhaps to be kept on a shelf, perhaps to be used for something even more disturbing,' Martin said.
She said Lodge, of Goffstown, New Hampshire, treated the parts of 'beloved human beings as if they were baubles to be sold for profit,' collecting thousands of dollars in profit along the way.

[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A pair of killers who pleaded guilty to running over a retired police chief during a crime spree in Las Vegas are facing decades in prison.
Jesus Ayala, 20, and Jzamir Keys, 18, were sentenced on Tuesday in Clark County District Court in Nevada after both pleading guilty to the murder of retired California police chief Andreas Probst, 64.
Ayala accepted a plea deal that landed him a sentence of 20 years to life, while Keys received an 18-year-to-life term as part of his plea deal.
While the pair were charged as adults after committing the crime as minors, they are prohibited by Nevada law from receiving the death penalty.
Graphic video shows a dashboard view from the front seat of a vehicle approaching Probst from behind as he rode near the curb on an otherwise traffic-free road.
A final image from the moving car shows the retired top cop on the ground beside the curb.
The crash was initially deemed a hit-and-run, but they later added murder charges by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police after the video went viral.
Ayala was identified as the driver of the 2016 Hyundai Elantra, and Keys was the passenger who filmed the horrific crime on August 14, 2023.
'At the time they didn't understand the gravity of what they were doing, and they didn't understand what could result even though it seems obvious to everybody,' said David Westbrook, attorney for Ayala, according to News 3 LV.
According to investigators, the duo's deadly crime spree began early that tragic morning when the teenagers went on a spree involving the theft of four cars and using them to hit and strike another 72-year-old bicyclist, who survived.
'This was so much more than a joyride,' Judge Bluth said. 'It just kept going and going and escalating with more people getting hurt.'
Ayala was arrested in August 2023, allegedly taunting officers as he was taken into custody. He told police that because he was a juvenile, he'd be 'out in 30 days... It's just a hit-and-run - slap on the wrist.'
Ayala and Keys were later charged with murder, attempted murder, failing to stop at the scene of a crash, battery, residential burglary, grand larceny of a vehicle, and possession of a stolen vehicle.
But the case stalled for months after Ayala was found incompetent to stand trial in October last year. He was moved from prison to a maximum security psychiatric facility in Las Vegas to undergo competency testing.
However, a judge found him competent to stand trial.
Ayala is facing a separate attempted murder charge for a separate alleged crime, accused of stabbing a man in the face on June 27, 2023.
The victim in that case came forward and identified Ayala in a photo lineup after his arrest for the fatal attack on Probst.
The deceased man's family has also filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Hyundai.
The family claims a defect in the 2016 Hyundai Elantra's anti-theft system enabled Ayala and Keys to steal the car used in the attack.
Probst's wife, Crystal, and two children, Michael and Taylor, have also filed a wrongful death suit against the teens.
[REGNUM] The US scientific community was rocked by shocking news. Renowned Portuguese-born physicist and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) professor Nuno Filipe Gomes Loureiro
…or more simply as Nuno Loureiro…
was found in his home with multiple gunshot wounds.
Although the case is still only at the preliminary investigation stage, there is already a lot of speculation surrounding it.
There has been talk, among other things, that Loureiro's death is part of a chain of politically motivated murders that have engulfed the United States in the past year.
RISING STAR
By the time he arrived at MIT in 2016, Professor Loureiro had already made a name for himself in academia.
Educated in his native Portugal, he worked for a long time at the Institute of Nuclear Fusion in Lisbon, but also worked at major research centres in the UK, including the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory and the Culham Fusion Energy Centre.
Loureiro has authored several groundbreaking scientific papers in the field of nuclear physics.
He took the invitation to MIT—a leading engineering university not only in the US but also in the world—as recognition of his services to the scientific community, and he set about developing his career in the industry with renewed vigor.
In less than ten years, he rose from visiting associate professor to director of MIT's Center for Plasma and Fusion Science; he became head of one of the university's largest "anchor" laboratory centers, at the age of just 45.
Despite all his obvious academic successes, Loureiro did not become a victim of “star fever” – although, according to statements from his relatives, he stood “two heads above” other MIT employees.
Quite the contrary—the professor led a quiet life and avoided conflict with those around him. He was well-regarded at work and was respected by his students and subordinates (of whom he had at least 250).
The news of the murder became even more terrifying for the local scientific community.
Subsequent comments from investigators only added to the shock.
SECRETS OF THE INVESTIGATION
The nature of the wounds revealed that the attacker had done everything possible to minimize his chances of survival. It was also striking that the door lock had not been forced, and there were no signs of a struggle in the room. By all indications, the scientist knew his killer and allowed him into the house voluntarily.
But who exactly visited the professor on that fateful evening still remains a mystery.
Quite soon, another curious twist emerged in the case: when some of the correspondence from the deceased's phone was leaked online.
It was revealed that Loureiro secretly maintained private accounts and blogs on several major social media platforms, where he expressed markedly pro-Israel positions,

including support for the IDF blockade of the Gaza Strip and strikes on Iran; celebrated the assassination of Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah; and lamented the ineffective Israeli air strike on Hamas Politburo members in Qatar in September 2025.
However, investigators are hesitant to confirm that the few notes were written by Loureiro, rightly believing that the fake account on the professor's phone could well have been accessed by his killer in order to confuse the investigation and stir up further controversy around him.
MIT takes a similar stance, citing that Loureiro has never been caught pushing pro-Israel narratives on others. Quite the contrary, the meticulous scholar discouraged "political gossip" during work hours and gently reprimanded employees who attempted to make their views on Middle East policy public. The possibility that the notes are forged is indirectly indicated by the fact that their writing style contrasts sharply with Loureiro's usual style. The language appears poor in places, and the text is peppered with grammatical errors.
Bummer. But there are still 24 hours before we reach 48.
In any case, the Loureiro murder case was quickly taken under special control by the FBI.
SHOOTING AT THE UNIVERSITY
A few days before the tragedy, a similar incident occurred at Brown University (less than 100 km from MIT).
Late in the evening, an unknown assailant entered the building and opened fire during Professor Rachel Friedberg's exam consultation, who previously taught at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The attack left two people dead and several others seriously injured.
Professor Friedberg, however, escaped with only a fright. Law enforcement officers were unable to apprehend the shooter while he was still hot on the trail.
Both MIT and Brown University share a common trait: both institutions are known for their freedom of speech and tolerance of student expression, which has served them poorly in the context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Indeed.
With the start of the operation in the Gaza Strip, the student and faculty communities split into camps, and the number of clashes between the warring factions increased severalfold.
Along the way, closed communities allegedly emerged, seeking ways to “proportionately respond” to the rampant “incorrect” judgments at key American universities.
Against this backdrop, gossip began to circulate in corners that both the assassination attempt on Friedberg and the murder of Loureiro were links in the same chain and could be a reaction by “individual outcasts” to US support for Israel’s foreign policy.
However, until the attackers in either incident have been apprehended, this remains pure speculation. American security officials have been less than forthcoming in their comments.
Israeli authorities have also so far chosen not to comment on Loureiro's murder. They have also chosen not to blame it on "Iranian agents," as they did, for example, in the recent terrorist attack on a Sydney beach. This may be because they want to allow the FBI time to complete its initial investigation, or because they don't want to rush into hasty accusations.

Colleges and universities have been sowing hate and violence for a decade or two. Based on what we are seeing from the investigation at Brown snd in Providence, woke police forces are not good at solving violent crimes. You would think that at MIT there ought to be enough brain power to have solved this already.

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino is leaving the bureau in January after speculation rose this week concerning his departure.
"I will be leaving my position with the FBI in January," Bongino wrote in an X post Wednesday. "I want to thank President [Donald] Trump, AG [Pam] Bondi, and Director [Kash] Patel for the opportunity to serve with purpose. Most importantly, I want to thank you, my fellow Americans, for the privilege to serve you. God bless America, and all those who defend Her."
President Donald Trump hinted at the news on the tarmac at Joint Base Andrews earlier in the afternoon, saying, "Dan did a great job. I think he wants to go back to his show."
Bongino, a former Secret Service agent, had no FBI experience before Trump tapped him to serve in the No. 2 position there. Prior to Bongino, the role had for more than a century been filled by someone who worked at the bureau, according to the FBI Agents Association. The position does not require Senate confirmation.
Fox News confirmed Andrew Bailey, co-deputy director, has been on the job since September and will stay on for now in the deputy role reporting to Patel.
The White House and the FBI did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's requests for comment.

I think Bongino is a genuine man of integrity and honesty. His short tenure at the FBI may be the result of one or more reasons:
1. He has a weaker gag reflex than he thought and the miasma of the past misbehaviors was becoming toxic for him.
2. The intent was always to let him return to his show with a better insider understanding of what was going on to clean up the messes behind the "green door".
3. He was always going to return to his show but because of what access he had been given behind the "green door" has has to be muted in criticism of what remained to be done or is not being done!

I read something — no link, sorry — that his wife and children did not join him in Washington, and that has put a strain on the marriage. His job was to clean out the Augean Stables, a dirty, painful job. He did the first pass, driving out at least some of those who needed to go, and discovering some of what needed to be seen, which will make his successor’s job easier.
I’m sure it could have been done better, but we live in reality. And he has not done badly as a lightning rod for an organization that is partially honourable and partially historically deeply corrupt.

We do need something like Asimov's robopsychology for AI.
It is a powerful tool that can vastly improve productivity in some areas, but it also has glaring weaknesses.
AI mimics human communication very well, but it is fundamentally alien. It makes mistakes in ways humans don't, and therefore AI failure modes have to be taught explicitly.
