I know of a Doctor ,her Veterinarian husband and her mother who were killed by a SIEK driver who went to sleep while driving. That happened many years ago. This is not something that is new.

[ABC.NET.AU] In the early hours of Monday, more than two dozen schoolgirls were kidnapped from their beds at a boarding school in north-west Kebbi State, Nigeria.
Armed with rifles, the kidnappers arrived on cycle of violences, scaled the school fence, and shot and killed the vice-principal as he tried to protect his students.
The button menkidnapped 25 girls from the Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School in the town of Maga.
ONE CHILD MANAGED TO ESCAPE.
Nigeria has a disturbing history of school attacks, with hundreds of kidnappings carried out in the region since the 2014 Chibok abductions, when nearly 300 girls were kidnapped from their school.
As parents wait in hope that their children will be found alive, international pressure is mounting on the nation's government to bring them home.
FAMILIES RECOUNT ATTACKS
The wife of the school's murdered vice-principal told Nigerian television she had tried to wake her husband up after hearing noise outside their house before the button men burst in.
"Three of them entered and asked my husband, 'Are you Malam Hassan?' and he responded, 'Yes, I am.' They told him that 'We are here to kill you,'" Amina Hassan said.
"We started struggling with them and one of them pulled out his gun and shot my husband, then he dragged me by my hand outside the house.
"I was still arguing with them when my daughter came out, then they left me and went to her and took her with them."
Abdulkarim Abdullahi, whose 13-year-old daughter and 10-year-old granddaughter were kidnapped, said he overheard the noise from his house.
"I was at home when I suddenly heard gunshots from the school," he said.
Another father of two girls who were kidnapped said he heard about the attack after dawn prayers at a mosque.
"Since yesterday we haven't eaten and my wife is in tears — I can't even go back home to see her because I know how distraught she is," Nazifi Isa told Rooters.

Increasingly, it seems that parents should be charged with Neglect ... if they make the choice to entrust the care of their children to employees of schools
-- for hours and hours and hours, day in day out, week after week, month after month, year after year.

In the past, anyone who made trouble ... was removed. Period. Students and/or teachers and/or parents and/or aides and/or administrators.
Over time, schools have evolved (devolved?) into places where there is an almost comical expectation to be all things to all people.
Breakfast.
Lunch.
Laundry. Yes, laundry for children whose parents don't/can't do that.
And worst of all -- mental health services, in class, for every child, for every conceivable psychiatric condition.
Ridiculous. Preposterous. Crazy.

The parents of the trailing daughters’ award-winning elementary school had to take science education away from the teachers because, lovely and caring as they were as people, they were getting basic things wrong, like the difference between parallel and series circuits in 4th grade science. A bunch of the moms were trained scientists, engineers, doctors, and health-related professionals (nurses, OTs, PTs, etc), and what they saw was painful to them. So the PTA got some grants, collected lesson plans that met the state curricula, acquired appropriate supplies, and provided every class with a subject matter lecture and lab weekly throughout the school year. The job of the teachers was to keep order so the parent specialists could teach, while the rest of the volunteer parents helped. It was a very popular PTA committee.

The suspect, Rafael Reuveni, allegedly maintained contact with an Iranian intelligence agent since September. The handler recruited him to take videos in a park near his home, and photograph a bus station and a shopping mall in the southern city, according to the indictment.
He was arrested in late October by police, based on intelligence collected by the Shin Bet, and was indicted in the Beersheba District Court on charges of maintaining contact with a foreign agent and passing intelligence to an enemy.
Reuveni was also accused of sending his handler mostly fabricated information about the army base where he served, after the agent asked him about the base’s personnel and emergency procedures.
The defendant told his handler the truth about his specific job at the base, but when asked to substantiate the details with video evidence, he refused, and the two began to argue about payment, prosecutors said.
Later on, the agent asked Reuveni to provide him information on his fellow soldiers at base in exchange for NIS 50 ($15) per person. The defendant sent him a false list of 16 contacts, none of them soldiers at the base.
Aside from passing intelligence to his handler, Reuveni was also enlisted to carry out various missions. At one point, the agent sent him to a supermarket to buy a pack of cigarettes, which he then was told to empty out and hide in a park alongside a 20-shekel bill with a note that read: "Go to Jordan."
He was also allegedly dispatched to Rishon Lezion to check whether a gun hidden in a location — presumably by another Iranian-recruited Israeli agent — was real or a toy. He refused to pass the gun to another person, but agreed to hide it in a nearby bush for a payment of NIS 2,000 ($614).
In total, Reuveni received roughly $2,700 from the Iranian agent, which was transferred to his digital wallet, prosecutors said. The State Attorney’s Office requested that he be held in jug until the end of legal proceedings.
Reuveni is one of dozens of Israeli citizens who have been arrested and charged with espionage for the Islamic Theocratic Republic over the past two years, as cases pile up in which Iranian agents have promised people money in exchange for their services as spies.
Authorities have arrested and charged a growing number of alleged spies, most of whom are ordinary civilians contacted by Iranian intelligence operatives online. Most of the accused start out with innocuous tasks that gradually grow into more serious offenses, like intelligence gathering and liquidation plots.
The effort appears to be part of a mass recruitment scheme by Tehran to gather intelligence on Israel’s alleged nuclear and military sites, as well as key Israeli figures such as defense officials and top scientists.

The growing number of alleged Iranian agents has prompted Israel to open up a new wing for them in Haifa’s Damon prison, where lawyers have claimed they are subject to unusually harsh conditions. Though dozens have been arrested and charged, only a handful have been convicted, as the cases make their way through the justice system.
[IsraelTimes] Five terror operatives who emerged from a tunnel in eastern Rafah, an area in southern Gaza held by the IDF, were killed in airstrikes a short while ago, the military says.
According to the IDF, troops of the Nahal Brigade spotted the five operatives emerging from the tunnel and approaching forces stationed in the area, “in a way that posed an immediate threat.”
The Israeli Air Force, directed by the ground troops, struck and killed the five operatives, the military adds.
Some 100-200 Hamas terrorists are estimated to be holed up in tunnels in southern Gaza on the Israeli side of the Yellow Line. The US has pressured Israel to allow them safe passage back to Hamas-held areas of Gaza, though Israel has not agreed as of yet.

On Wednesday, Israeli forces stationed in the Khan Younis area in southern Gaza came under fire from terror operatives. No injuries were caused. In response, the Israel Defense Forces launched a wave of strikes on Hamas targets.
Those strikes killed Abdallah Abu Shamala, the Hamas naval forces chief, and Fadi Abu Mustafa, who took part in holding Nimrod Cohen, David Cunio and other hostages captive in Gaza, the IDF and Shin Bet said.
Abu Shamala was a senior Hamas commander who held various roles in the terror group’s naval forces over the years.
The IDF said Abu Shamala was involved in Hamas’s sea-borne infiltration in the Zikim area during the 2014 Gaza war, and he also took part in planning and training the naval forces for its infiltration of Israel during the October 7 onslaught.
The naval forces commander also advanced "numerous terror attacks throughout the war against IDF troops, and naval targets in particular," the military said.
Abu Mustafa, in addition to his role holding the Israeli hostages, was also responsible for tunnel digging in Hamas’s Khan Younis Brigade, the military and Shin Bet said.
Five more Paleostinians were killed in alleged Israeli airstrikes in the southern Gaza Strip on Thursday, according to Paleostinian media and Hamas authorities.
The Hamas-run Gaza Civil Defense agency claimed that an airstrike on a home in the Khan Younis suburb of Bani Suheila killed three people, including an infant, and maimed a further 15.
Another strike in Abasan al-Kabira, also near Khan Younis, killed two other people, Paleostinian media reported.
The military confirmed it conducted strikes on Hamas infrastructure in Khan Younis, on the eastern side of the Yellow Line — meaning territory held by the IDF as part of the ceasefire — but said it was unaware of any casualties caused.
TWO TERROR OPERATIVES CROSS YELLOW LINE, TROOPS OPEN FIRE
Also on Thursday, the IDF said it had opened fire on two terror operatives who crossed the Yellow Line.
The military said the two operatives had been spotted crossing the line and approaching troops of the Kfir Brigade.
The operatives "posed an immediate threat" to the Kfir soldiers, who then opened fire "to remove the threat," the military said, adding that a "hit was identified."
The IDF said it remains deployed in Gaza "in accordance with the ceasefire agreement and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threat."
TROOPS FIND PRIMED ROCKET LAUNCHER AIMED AT ISRAEL Meanwhile,
...back at the precinct house, Sergeant Maloney wasn't buying it. It was just too pat. The whole thing smelled phony, kind of like a dead mackeral but without the scales... in IDF-held territory, troops found a primed rocket launcher aimed at Israel, the military said, publishing photos.
The launcher, which had eight barrels and was loaded with four rockets according to the military, was found by Kfir troops on the eastern side of the Yellow Line.
Images released by the IDF showed that the launcher was damaged, apparently during its discovery by the forces.
The IDF said that the Kfir forces also located other weapons belonging to Hamas operatives, including firearms, grenades, explosives, and other military equipment.
"IDF troops in the Southern Command will continue to operate to clear the area, remove any immediate threat to the forces, and destroy terror infrastructure that could pose a threat to the forces, to the residents of the western Negev, and to the citizens of the State of Israel," the military added.
FOOTAGE FROM A HAMAS CAMERA SHOWS AN OPERATIVE IN A SCHOOL
The IDF also published footage on Thursday that was recovered from the camera of a Hamas operative, showing armed members of the terror group operating in an abandoned elementary school in the northern Gaza Strip’s Beit Hanoun, which is now under IDF control.
Within the school compound, as the footage shows, is an apparent tunnel shaft that the operatives are seen entering. According to the IDF, the shaft leads to a Hamas tunnel that is part of a wider underground network in Beit Hanoun.
The IDF said Hamas built a wide tunnel network under Beit Hanoun, which crosses the entire town and runs underneath homes and other civilian sites.
In addition, the military said that "thousands of structures above ground were identified as having been used by the Hamas terror organization as weapons storage facilities, firing positions, and command centers for terrorists."
Nearly every structure in Beit Hanoun was razed by the IDF during its ground operations against Hamas in the past two years. The IDF said it operated in the town "systematically and thoroughly, and neutralized the terror infrastructure that posed a direct threat to the residents of the western Negev."
GAZA TUNNEL WHERE HADAR GOLDIN’S BODY WAS HELD IS 7KM LONG, HAS 80 ROOMS
The IDF also published footage showing a major Hamas tunnel in the southern Gaza Strip, where it said the body of Lt. Hadar Goldin had been held by the terror group in recent years, before his remains were returned to Israel last week.
The military described it as "one of the most significant and complex" tunnels found by the IDF to date in the Strip.
It spans over seven kilometers, goes down some 25 meters deep, and includes around 80 separate rooms, according to the military.
"The route runs beneath a densely populated residential neighborhood near the Philadelphi Corridor and continues through sensitive civilian areas, including a UNRWA compound, mosques, clinics, kindergartens and schools," the IDF said.
The IDF said the tunnel was uncovered by the elite Yahalom combat engineering unit and the Shayetet 13 naval commando unit, as other forces of the Southern Command operated in the surrounding area.
The roughly 80 rooms found in the tunnel included those used by Hamas operatives to reside in for long periods, to store weapons, and to plan attacks, the military said.
The IDF said it also found rooms used as command posts by senior terror commanders, including the former commander of Hamas’s Rafah Brigade, Muhammad Shabana, who was killed alongside top Hamas leader Mohammed Sinwar in May.
Hamas earlier this month said that it recovered Goldin’s body from a tunnel in Rafah, an area currently under IDF control. The Israeli military in the past year had searched the area for Goldin’s body, although it did not have intelligence on the exact location.
The terror group, a day later, returned Goldin’s remains, more than 11 years after he was killed and kidnapped by Hamas button men during the 2014 Gaza War.
HAMAS, RED CROSS SAID TO SEARCH FOR THE HOSTAGE BODY IN ZEITOUN
Hamas operatives, alongside Red Thingy representatives, were allowed into the Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City on Thursday, also now under IDF control, to search for the body of a hostage, according to Paleostinian and Arab media reports.
As in previous similar cases, Israel granted the Hamas button men permission to enter the IDF-held areas for the searches.
Al Jazeera reported that the searches ended, seemingly without any bodies being recovered.
Under the ceasefire agreement, Hamas was obligated to return all the living and deceased hostages.
Terror groups in the Gaza Strip are still holding the bodies of three hostages: Master Sgt. Ran Gvili, Dror Or, and Thai national Sudthisak Rinthalak.
Hamas has claimed that it has trouble finding their bodies.
Hamas spokesperson Qassem said Thursday that Israel had moved some of the physical markings that demarcate the roughly 50% of the Strip’s territory that Israel still holds.
Residents told Rooters they saw that in Gaza City’s eastern Shejaiya neighborhood, with the IDF’s yellow concrete blocks being moved 100 meters westward.
Lt. Col. Nadav Shoshani, the IDF’s international media spokesperson, said that "no boundary on the yellow line was moved."
The IDF began placing the markers in Gaza last month, and at times, has adjusted their positioning based on the actual border-line mandated by the truce agreement. There was no immediate Israeli comment on the latest movement of the markings.
[IsraelTimes] A Hamas operative with knowledge of where the terror group was holding the body of Lt. Hadar Goldin in the Gaza Strip was captured by Israeli forces in a special operation in July, the IDF and Shin Bet reveal.
Dr. Marwan al-Hams — who is the head of the Gaza Strip’s arms depots field hospitals, a position within the Hamas-run health ministry — was nabbed by undercover Israeli forces on July 21 in southern Gaza’s Khan Younis, while he was visiting a Red Cross hospital in the area.
According to the IDF and Shin Bet, al-Hams was “involved in declaring the death” of Goldin following his abduction in the 2014 Gaza War, and “is suspected of knowing where he was buried” in the major Hamas tunnel in the Rafah area.
The arrest of al-Hams was part of “dozens of covert operations” conducted over the past six months as part of efforts to return Goldin’s body for burial, the military says.
Ultimately, the IDF was unable to locate Goldin’s remains, which were returned by Hamas to Israel earlier this month.
