#1, I thought a long time ago that it would be a good idea to build a bridge linking Alaska to Siberia via the Aleutian Islands. Yes, Putin is a ruthless dictator and Russia will probably never meet our standards for democracy. But it'd still be a hoot to visit the place. If they'd build the roads for it, you could drive all the way to London, or Beijing...whatever. That'd be quite a drive.
