[NYPOST] A suburban reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown ...home of Al Capone, the Chicago Black Sox, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel... mother was randomly knocked out on her way home from work by a serial attacker as President Trump prepares to deploy the National Guard to combat out-of-control crime in the Windy City.
Kathleen Miles suffered several broken bones in her face, a black eye and a concussion when she was the target of the brute's unprovoked attack near Union Station in downtown Chicago on Aug. 19.
The Lake Villa, Ill., resident, who only goes in to work once a week, was allegedly attacked by William Livingston, a career criminal who has at least 12 arrests since 2012 for battery or aggravated assault, according to arrest records viewed by The Post.
Miles was walking with a co-worker when Livingston allegedly squeezed between the two employees and became violent mostly peaceful.
''She had said, 'This man came in between the two of us, shoved us apart, and then hit me in the face,''' Miles recalled her colleague telling her, according to ABC 7 Chicago.
Miles says she only remembers waking up in a hospital bed in pain, with no recollection of the brutal attack.
''I woke up, and my co-worker was standing above me, saying, 'You're OK. You're in the hospital. You've been assaulted,''' she said.
Miles lost consciousness again, only to wake up with her daughter by her side.
''The next thing I remember is my daughter, Deanna, saying, 'Hi, Mama, I'm here. You're OK,''' Miles said.
Livingston, 32, was arrested and hit with three aggravated battery charges, causing great bodily harm and reckless conduct.
The suspected serial attacker has racked up a disturbing rap sheet, having been arrested 17 times since 2014, a majority for battery and aggravated assaults against females and law enforcement.
Miles ripped into the policies and politicians of the Democrat-run city for allowing Livingston to continue to walk the streets.
''It's 2025, and he's out. And if he had been held accountable for his actions, then I wouldn't be sitting here with injuries,'' Miles said.
[NYPOST] A Florida man allegedly ran over a foot model with his car on their first date after she refused to let him smell her feet, according to authorities and reports.
Elmoncy Sercle, 28, allegedly arranged a meeting on the dating app Seeking with the woman in a room at the Serena Hotel in Aventura last Sunday when he asked her if he could smell her feet and buy her used sneakers, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by The Post.
The model, who requested anonymity, told Sercle that he would have to fork over $1,000 for the shoes and that she would have to retrieve them from her car, police said.
Sercle, however, did not agree to the hefty rate, and the model went to use the bathroom inside the hotel room, the affidavit said.
''When I got there, he just wanted to sniff my feet, and I didn't feel comfortable with that,'' the model told Local 10.
''I mean, you could have my sneakers all you want,'' she added, ''and you know, they're just stinky old sneakers. But people like weird things.''
While in the restroom, the model heard Sercle run out of the room and thought he had stolen something from her, police wrote.
She ran to the parking lot, where she allegedly saw Sercle driving in a red Mercedes SUV. He passed her, then did a three-point turn and ran her over with the SUV, the affidavit said.
Sercle then expeditiously departed at a goodly pace, cops said.
The foot model required immediate medical attention and suffered road rash, bruising to her back, arms, and chest after she was struck, authorities said.
The foot lover was arrested on Thursday after he attempted to book another room in the same hotel.
Sercle has been charged with aggravated battery, court records show.
He pleaded not guilty "Wudn't me." at his arraignment, according to authorities.
''I've never experienced anything like this before,'' the model told Local10.
''I've met a lot of people who have foot fetishes, obviously, and nobody has ever done anything to this caliber,'' she said.
''By the grace of God, I'm still standing today.''

[NYPOST] Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani said he endured the worst pain of his life after a freak car crash in New Hampshire left him hospitalized with serious injuries and strapped in a back brace.
Giuliani and advisor Ted Goodman, also banged up in the wreck, relived the terrifying moment a speeding car plowed into the back of their rented SUV Saturday night — with Giuliani saying he would have been ''killed'' had he not been wearing his seatbelt.
''We got hit in the back, I would say, the hardest I've ever been hit in my whole life, including two accidents I was in when I was a child and playing football,'' the two-term mayor, 81, said on ''The Rudy Giuliani Show,'' Tuesday night.
''It seemed like the car was going maximum speed 70-80 miles an hour, kind of spinned us a teeny bit—instead of getting a whiplash in my neck, I got a whiplash in my body. My body got thrown forward in a second and thrown back and I could feel the pain immediately in the middle of my body.''
Giuliani said he was frozen in agony but managed to look over at Goodman, who was driving, to see if he was okay, noting his confidant was ''constricted by the steering wheel.''
''I got terrible injuries but I would have been killed if I didn't have my seatbelt on,'' Giuliani added. ''I would have gone right through the window, so thank God I had the seatbelt on. I felt more pain than maybe I ever felt.''
Goodman recalled his battered boss's first words were to ask if he was hurt — and then about the other driver, whose wrecked car sat in the median of Interstate-93 following the 10 p.m. accident.
The pair said the bleeding 19-year-old behind the wheel was crying and ''very distraught.''
All three were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Giuliani — dubbed ''America's mayor'' for leading New York through the aftermath of the 9/11 terror attacks — suffered fractured vertebrae and multiple cuts and bruises to his left arm and lower leg from the crash.
He is now recovering in a back brace that he said is ''holding'' his fractured spine together.
''I'm feeling like I'm recovering as the doctor predicted,'' Giuliani said, adding he'll be in the brace for the next two weeks whenever he's sitting up or moving around. ''I think within three or four weeks I'll be completely recovered.''
[NYPOST] Hawaii's Kilauea volcano resumed erupting on Tuesday, firing lava 330 feet (100 meters) into the sky from its summit crater.
It's the 32nd time the volcano has released molten rock since December, when its current eruption began. So far, all the lava from this eruption has been contained within the summit crater inside Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
Lava emerged from the north vent in Halemaumau Crater after midnight. The vent began shooting fountains of lava at 6:35 a.m., the U.S. Geological Survey said.

[Epoch Times] Florida’s surgeon general, Dr. Joseph Ladapo, announced on Sept. 3 that he was working to eliminate all vaccine mandates from state law.
"The Florida Department of Health, in partnership with the governor, is going to be working to end all vaccine mandates in Florida law," he said at a press conference. "All of them.
"Every last one is wrong and drips with disdain and slavery.
"Who am I, as a government, or anyone else, or who am I as a man standing here now to tell you what you should put in your body? Who am I to tell you what your child should put in their body?
"I don’t have that right. Your body is a gift from God. What you put into your body is because of your relationship with your body and your God."
The surgeon general reiterated that neither he nor the government had the right to force vaccines upon people and urged those listening to take that power away from the government and make their own informed decisions.
Ladapo said the Florida Department of Health was able to start the process by striking down rules established by his predecessors that mandated several vaccines, and then his department would work with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and the state’s lawmakers to eliminate the rest of the mandates.

The U.S. Secret Service counter-sniper teams are drastically understaffed and are using overtime and less qualified marksmen to fill gaps in a security crisis that threatens the lives of those it protects, the Homeland Security Department's internal watchdog starkly warned Tuesday.
The report released by Inspector General Joseph Cufari is the latest signal that the agency that protects the president and vice president is still dealing with legacy shortcomings and strategic failures that were first exposed by the assassination attempt on President Donald Trump in July 2024 in Butler, Pennsylvania.
"The United States Secret Service’s (Secret Service) Counter-Sniper Team (CS) is staffed 73 percent below the level necessary to meet mission requirements," the report starkly warned. "Failure to appropriately staff CS could limit the Secret Service’s ability to properly protect our Nation’s most senior leaders, risking injury or assassination, and subsequent national-level harm to the country’s sense of safety and security."
"Given its chronic understaffing, CS relied on overtime and leveraged personnel from other Department of Homeland Security components to meet mission requirements," the report added.

The watchdog revealed that the Secret Service paid nearly a quarter million overtime hours to keep the counter-sniper team's staffed between 2021 and 2024.
The Secret Service also borrowed employees from other agencies during the 2024 election and Trump's inauguration in January, in some cases using marksmen that did not fully meet the criteria for the protection detail.
"Some counter snipers did not meet mandatory weapons requalification requirements," the report warned. "Counter snipers who missed mandatory weapons requalification sessions (i.e., retesting their ability to shoot accurately in the daytime and at night), nonetheless supported 47 of the 426 events (11 percent) attended by protectees in calendar year 2024."
The report included a response from the Trump-run Secret Service saying it agreed with the findings and was working to fix the personnel shortage quickly.

Canada’s WestJet has announced it will expand its domestic and international fleet with the purchase of 67 Boeing aircraft, expanding its total order with the company to 123.
