#1 Ukrainian pilot Denys Davydov reported that this is false in his daily Ukraine war report yesterday. Denys Davydov says Ukraine would not turn down F/A 18 Hornets. An American Fighter Pilot in the below video at the 2 minute mark says the F/A 18 Hornet is "Pure Love". The F/A 18 Hornet was a favorite of the film makers of Top Gun featuring Tom Crews.

#3 Denys Davydov says Ukraine would not turn down F/A 18 Hornets

Notice the phrasing here: "would not turn down" vs "this never happened"
We have seen Davydov's byline on some of the articles Badanov has posted.
On Davydov's Youtube channel, he comes as intelligent and likable. Also extremely pro-Ukrainian, which is not surprising what with him being Ukrainian and all, but it does makes him overly optimistic IMHO.

Speaking as a Hornet fanboi, it is not an air superiority fighter, but would be just the thing for lobbing bombs and launching long-range missiles. I suspect this is just Zelensky being pissy about not getting a fleet of F-35s and the Hornets will eventually be welcomed.

There is talk, I'm not a fan of any of this but that is a valid point, about real world testing of weapons systems; that works both ways and if these things just end up as Team Russia target practice, that's no good.

This line has me a bit worried about the article as a trial balloon.

The Hornets, designed for aircraft carriers, have robust landing gears suitable for Ukraine's war-damaged runways, enabling them to take off and land on short strips.

Indeed; but the frame has a bit of help in the takeoff and landing using Aircraft Carriers.
