DHS says mainstream media is 'deliberately lying' about events leading up to Texas flooding
[FoxNews] The Department of Homeland Security argued that the mainstream media is "deliberately lying" about what led up to the catastrophic flooding in Texas that killed dozens of people and left many others unaccounted for.

"The mainstream media is deliberately lying about the events leading up to the catastrophic flooding in Texas," DHS wrote on X.

"The National Weather Service executed timely, precise forecasting and warnings, despite unprecedented rainfall overwhelming the region," it continued.

The agency also provided a timeline of the National Weather Service's "proactive response" to the storm beginning on Thursday morning.

"The National Weather Service provided over 12 hours of advance notice via the Flood Watch and over 3 hours of lead time for Flash Flood Warnings, with escalated alerts as the storm intensified," DHS wrote.

#2 How difficult would it be to attach some float switches to a tornado siren? I believe the technology is already there.

#3 ^#1 - the TV news last night focused on a local emergency guy who would not answer, 'why were there no evacuations based on all the warnings?'

I think they found a scapegoat.

#5 Texas summer camp evacuated 70 staying near river ahead of flooding: 'Saw it coming'

Despite the absence of warning by local authorities, camp officials at Mo-Ranch acted quickly on their own, relocating about 70 children and adults staying overnight in a building near the river.

#7  A common chilling occurrence this summer has been unnecessary drownings sustained by people (often children) who persist in never using or being provided PFD's by their caretakers. Mainsteam media seems reluctant to make this a point in their reporting.

#9 Mainsteam media seems reluctant to make this a point in their reporting.

That's because they'd rather blame Trump.

#10 Seems to me I recall when I was a kid reading in the old Boy Scout Handbook that you should choose a camp site near water but high enough so you don't get flooded.

#11 Don’t hike or camp in the wadi — even I know that one.

A school group was swept away in Israel while on a hike a few years ago when the wadi suddenly flooded.

#12 Flood waters contain trees & branches, brush, fencing, rocks, stc. Even if you are a great swimmer, it's a tough challenge (even with PFDs)

#13 Flash floods are particularly dangerous down in the Grand Canyon. Hikers there die now & then when hit by a flash flood when they have zero idea that any rain has fallen in the Canyon.
