#1 So about 450 VLS tubes in total - figure 2/3 loaded with ADA or 300 tubes - with at least 50 tubes expended based on recent days operations. Ideally they will be able to protect the bases in Cyprus.

#2 I advise every sailor deployed on Iranian military vessels to don a life jacket and to wear it continuously until there is a negotiated settlement. There will be a proportional response to whatever happens in Hormuz. Alternately, you can stand and be still to the Birkenhead Drill, but that’s a tough bullet to chew.

#3 Not bad advice to the crew of the Prince of Wales either. They are the softest target capital ship in range of Iran currently

#4 Every ship ought to be at material condition Zebra. Now we’ll see who does door maintenance and damage control drills best. I think we can rule out the Russians.

#5 DOD needs a supplemental. We’ve burned through much of existing stocks and need to replenish our air defense missiles.

#6 If Iran attempts to shut the Straits of Hormuz, the US should send enough B-1s and B-52s to obliterate everything from the airfield at Bandar Abbas to the port at Bostanu. Iran's economy would never recover.

#7 IIRC, Iran cannot refine their own oil. They ship crude from Kharg to Mumbai. India refines it into petroleum and ships it back. Without that two way traffic I would think Iran's economy would grind to a halt anyway.

#9 The heavy traffic across the strait from Iran to Oman will make things hard. It is all at cigarette boat speed so it will be hard to manage. The tanker traffic is constrained to the channel so they will be easy pickings for drone, missile and rocket attacks. I am sure Iran learned from what we helped Ukraine do to the Moskva. I can’t see us getting out of this unscathed. Praying Mantis was pulled off by Reagan’s navy. The current Navy was running into other ships habitually under Biden and Obama.

#10 If the strait is blocked, how does Iran get its oil to its only customer?

#11 Once it has been announced that regime change is the goal, the regime ceased to worry about long term repercussions.
