4 Wanting to expand the Russian empire and being able to is two very different things.

-To the west is Nato risking even heavier military losses and a possible nuclear exchange
-To the east is China, a larger army at the end of a very long logistical supply line and a possible nuclear exchange.
-To the southeast is a bunch of countries of little value with lots of angry Muslims, but no nukes.

6 Europe has purchased over $200 billion in energy from Russia since 2022.They are literally financing both sides of this war. Presumably that goes away if Russia attacks the EU itself. That, and Russia has exhausted its Soviet equipment inheritance. Try invading Poland with motorbikes. Let's see how that goes.

It's nice to read that Dr. Paine is retired. I'd hate to think she's still spouting all that bullshit to a classroom full of unsuspecting students. As a history professor, she should know that it's always the Western European countries that invade Russia and Russians only invade them to repel the aggressors.
