3 Nobel Prize? I thought that it went away in disgrace and is not as prestigious as it once was.

Something to do with prizes awarded to undeserving people?

5 2009 Nobel Peace Prize
The 2009 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to United States president Barack Obama (b. 1961) for his "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples". The Norwegian Nobel Committee announced the award on October 9, 2009, citing Obama's promotion of nuclear nonproliferation and a "new climate" in international relations fostered by Obama, especially in reaching out to the Muslim world.

6 The peace prize devolved into political posturing, but the science prizes are still solid.
FWIW, Halzen is a nice guy, very sharp, and, in my interactions with him, humbly curious. IceCube is his brainchild. I didn't think it would work; I was wrong.
Also, low energy neutrinos (e.g. solar, nuclear plant, etc) hardly interact at all, but those a million times more energetic interact a lot more strongly, which makes up for their rarity. An advantage to them over ordinary cosmic rays is that galactic/intergalactic magnetic fields don't change the direction of neutral particles like neutrinos, so if you can see their track you know where they came from.

7 Wake me when Sheldon Cooper gets his.

8 Sheldon will never get one Procopius2k. main reason is that Sheldon is a theoretical mathematician.

Seems according to some rumors, a mathematician sleep with Nobel wife and as a result he left instruction in his will to never award any prize in math.

Another rumored reason is that Nobel considered pure mathematics in the same category as astrology, in other words, a butch of "hoo ha"!

Fact though is that there is no Nobel prize for mathematics as there were other prizes available at the time.
