1 And shooting down an airliner full of passenger might, might, get a pass from some of us here in America, but Israel would have lost on the world stage for it. Its a sad reality with todays press and politics that terrorists have the full upper hand in the worlds information operations and most governments bend to the will of the press.

And then President Truman refused to sell or give any arms to the newJewish state, assuming that it would quickly be overrun by the fiveArab armies already lined up on its borders, who would kill all the Jews as promised. One possible conclusion is that he did it to annoy Britain, which was not at all willing to give up the Palestine Mandate, given to it by the Leqgue of Nations specifically to prepare the Jews for self-rule in a territory that originally included what is now Jordan and Judea and Samaria/the West Bank as well as everything inside the Green Line.
