[FoxNews] Some students want degree but not college experience, while others are just too stressed for school
Some Gen Z freshmen have already decided — just weeks into the fall semester — to abandon their college campuses, head back home and take classes online.
Others are quitting school entirely very early on.
In a recent "Outnumbered" segment, Fox News co-hosts discussed the trend of young college students bailing out of campus life and returning home — saying the degree is what they’re after, not the "college experience."
Online reactions to the controversial and trending decision are running the gamut.
"To be fair, college is not for everyone," one Facebook user commented.
Another blurted, "Time for the school of HARD KNOCKS!"
A viral TikTok posted by a 17-year-old indicated that the student left campus at Southern University in Louisiana just two weeks into her first semester to go back home to Las Vegas, according to reports.
Odd, I enjoyed my time at UNLV
| Were you 17, or older and more experienced enough to appeciate it properly? | Some students today seem to be strangers with discomfort and struggle — as one user advised, "Y'all have to learn how to be uncomfortable."
Another was more understanding, posting, "It's OK to be uncomfortable, anxious and stressed during your first year of college."
"Outnumbered" co-host Kaleigh McEnany said she remembered her own college days, when she would struggle to return to school after spending time at home.
