3 Paxton does have negatives. He was impeached by a lopsided House bipartisen majority back in 2023, basically a pay to play corruption. He was not convicted by the Senate as the evidence wasn't that strong.

However, he has made a lot of enemies in TX and his in-state fundraising is weak.

A moderate Democrat with positive achievements in biz or govt would beat him easily. Not too many of those however can win primaries.
