7 We still act like we're at peace. During WII, sailors and soldiers alike who were deployed never got back home in one piece till the fighting was over. That's literally years of deployment. Today that would cause munities and civil discord back home.

PEACE Just when has the US Military been at peace.

Our family since 1914 has either in or work directly with deployed troops. We've lost 2 out of the 4 over the last 3 generations.

Maybe the USA needs to quit funding the MIC and focus on issues at home.

9 @8 A couple of years ago I did some research on "peace". Went all the way back to 1775 and couldn't find a single year of "peace. There was at least one war or hot civil war going on somewhere in the world.

10 #8 Yes in there discretely but none the less obvious, this that we have have our military pretty much engaged in wars on our frontier since its origins till the closure of the plains. That period pretty much ended with New Mexico and Arizona becoming states in 1912. Our frontiers just moved out from the Continental US since then.
