2 They used a pronoun in describing the shooter, so it won’t be tranny type violence. That should also rule out it being a white person unless the identity delay is just to cleanup any social media posts.

3 Arizona’s Family reports:

A 21-year-old man has been identified as the alleged gunman in a mass shooting that left nine people injured in downtown Tucson over the weekend.Court documents filed Monday name David Leroy French as the suspect in the shooting on 6th Avenue and Congress Street early Sunday morning.

The incident began as a verbal argument between two groups outside Empire Pizza, according to the interim complaint filed in court, before it escalated to a shooting.

Officers patrolling the area heard gunshots and reportedly spotted French running away. An officer shot French, who was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Court documents say video surveillance footage shows French firing into the crowd.

French faces more than a dozen charges, including nine counts of aggravated assault with a firearm and nine counts of aggravated assault involving serious physical injury. Tucson police said more charges are pending as they continue their investigation.

A mug shot was not immediately available.

Pima County Attorney Laura Conover later said Monday in an emailed statement that French was previously charged for firing a weapon during an altercation.

Arizona’s Family sister station KOLD reports the incident happened in October 2024 and police said French fired a gun at a man and missed.

He pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, Conover said.

While French could have faced up to nine years in prison, he did not serve jail time.

“The court’s probation department assessed the individual and found him to meet the criteria for a sentence of intensive probation, and the judge ordered standard probation,” Conover said.

He was still on probation during Sunday’s mass shooting, Conover said.
