Because the "common man" (ordinary person vs a member of the liberal aristocracy) is incapable of thinking for himself and making intelligent decisions regarding news and public comment. Right and wrong, good and bad must be decided for us by our enlightened betters in the media and politics.

9 I'm old enough to remember the airways being flooded for der Biden's dystopian rant against imagined opponents.

The dentist office media is proving itself rotten. If the case was to screen the speech for errors, even that one channel spent the morning screaming about temperatures instead of delayed coverage.
