I liked and owned a few used bugs back in the days (60/70 models).

Later in life they also made great dune buggies.

4 When crude oil prices go up, gas prices immediately go up (no matter what was paid for crude in storage). Costly to operate 'stripper wells' are pumping again. Let's just call it 'cost-trend anticipation.' Profit margins increase.

When the price of crude oil goes down, stripper wells are shut down. Production is reduced and prices take their time to correct. Profit margins increase.

The one constant, "Buy low, sell high."

5 Sounds like VW is being "managed" into the grave, with the compliance of the labor unions. I'm reminded of the US shipbuilding industry and their collapse in the 1970s.

7 Buy low and sell high makes sense. But it gets tougher to buy low after starting a fight with Russia. Oh well, I think you can still buy bugs that are Hecho en Mexico.
