2 No status of forces agreement. No defense treaty.
Going to need a lot of action from the Senate to make this happen, if it ever does.
America can NOT have host countries barging into our bases to arrest our soldiers for violating their stupid laws.

5 American bases are legally extra-territorial pieces of America, Jack Guelph2611. Besides, Israel is civilized. They’d send a police officer with an arrest warrant to the base HQ, and wait for the miscreant to be handed over for trial. Honestly, you have the oddest ideas.

6 Doubt it will actually happen. I suspect the story is being floated as a bargaining chip of some sort, possibly to get the Gulf nations to pay for the rebuilding of the bases or some other consideration that benefits the US

How about using some of Iran frozen funds to pay for the repairs and reparations, like to any service member injured or killed by said missile strikes as well as to the host countries for the inconvenience and first responder assistance?

In short, make Iran pay for their misdeeds!
