5 Part of the tech backstory w/ DEI is that they introduced AI Tokenization w/o oversite, and many DEI stopped doing anything manually and depended entirely on AI to do the work and token costs went through the roof.

I've heard this same story by a few different tech managers in a few different companies.

6 Management rules for public Silicon Valley companies (I worked there for 30 years):

- If there's bad news, dump it all into one quarter.
- If at all possible, blame it on outside forces.
- That works better if a lot of companies are doing the same thing.
- If no cuts in the last few years, you can cut 10-20% personnel and come out even or ahead
- Layoffs will be used to cut poor performers without have to go through the infamous HR review process
- ...and to cut late, unprofitable or politically unpopular products and programs.
