1 What has changed? The Jordanian border has been stable for decades. Can Israel actually afford to defend that length of border at the same intensity as the northern and Gazan borders? Do the diplomatic channels no longer work there?

2 Israel started building a proper wall along the Jordanian border, I think about two years ago. There have been more crossers with malign intent who needed to be hunted down, and one or two vehicle attacks if I recall correctly.
