1 And Verona Brewing, outside of Madison, will be re-creating a single batch of the tradition Schlitz brew on May 23rd with follow-up local events in June. The original recipe was nothing like the watered down stuff served up in the 70's.

2 The newer generations are drinking less and less alcohol offerings. That is parallel with GenZ males not showing up at clubs and bars.

7 as noted above, schlitz changed in the 70s

specifically, they began adding corn syrup and removing barley from the brewing mass - they expected people to like the new taste based on some tasting events they had done but when they began mass producing somehow the results were the reverse - about 20 years ago one or two of their breweries began making the old recipe but by that time there was reputational damage (a quieter word of mouth change of buying habits).

8 TIL: Someone was still brewing Schlitz.

At one time, one of America's most popular beers. Probably back when Pall Mall cigarettes were cool. Schlitz and Pall Mall, I could see that combo being colloquial. But that was before my time.

Speaking of, I have not seen a Schlitz since the 90's, was my dads beer.

9 Old joke - Two guys trying to figure out how long a dock is. The first one says let’s count the boards and then multiply. The other says, that too much work. Let’s just count the spaces between the boards as that’s a smaller number!
So they start counting the gaps and engrossed in their work, fall off the edge of the dock. Moral of story?
