Wanting to see wider price picture/comparison I looked at Oil Price vs Gas Price historical chart covering April 1996 to April 2026.

In April 1996 = Gas sold for $1.27 at the pump.
In April 2026 = gas sell for general around $4.12,

The Inflation rate from 1996 to 2026 is about 110.46% over the 30-year period. So the 1996 price of $1.27 adjusted at 110.46% should be $2.67 NOT $4.12 a gallon.

Iranian situation causing is cost us about the $1.00 a gallon increase in gas.

Note:
Jan. 2026 Gas price was about $3.01 prior to the Iranian situation,
or still about $0.34 over normal inflation. (TAXES????)
