7 Southland built a 42 story office building beside the Central Expressway, opening in 1988. Southland was bought out in 1987. There were plans for an identical tower, on the other side of the expressway. They cleverly bought enough Brazilian Red granite facing for both towers, no doubt an economy move. The matching tower was cancelled and the property sold in 1989.

I helped build the 3.5 mile transit tunnel under the expressway. My PE seal is on the alignment plans, (but I only checked the genius that designed the route). Now there is a light-rail transit station serving the tower area, 120 feet below grade.
