3 Back in 2014, ISIS captured a huge portion of Iraq, I think about 40%, killed at least tens of thousands and threatened to take the rest of the country.

The USA provided enough help to turn the tide against ISIS but groups like the Shia militia did a lot of the work also. Unlike the USA, they didn't work as cleanly and tortured people and unfortunately, the Shia militia are still in Iraq.

Having them come to help the mullahs is an opportunity to take out much of their equipment and mobile fighting units.
