2 Been dabbling in military history & technology for decades and I find the scope of the attack to be impressive. It might be the first time the US has allowed the military, at this level, to take the gloves all the way off since WWII.

3 An anti Regime militia with hand weapons would normally be easily defeated by IRGC units with mechanized and partially armored equipment.

However, that changes if the USA of IDF were providing air support. In that case the IRGC units would be easy targets.

Do we have any active A-10s or the Super A-10s that would be deployable in Iran?

4 Given the potential for the IRGC et al to have a lot of MANPADs, A-10 inclusion might have a significant risk factor. The Ukraine experience suggests that drone attacks against armor and mech infantry are a very significant force multiplier as well. Pretty sure the Kurds have that understanding as well as the hardware. Absent Iranian theater ADA, BUFF and fighter aircraft and PGMs could also be a factor.

9 We'll see. Historically the Kurds have gotten their shit pushed in when they rebel and have been hesitant to do so. Hopefully the US can break a losing streak here.
