1 Iran has prepared for this day for many decades,

Remember this simple basic logical fact.

What we use there, isn't here protecting the USA itself. Plus it takes $$$$$, and time to re-arm, $$$$ that will not have.

Are we leaving the CONUS or OCONUS areas open?
Because the USA is now 1 of 3 #1's in the world now.

3 We've been at war since the storming of the embassy. Calculate how much that has already cost us in those years since. Maybe its time to end it.

5 My assumption in 1979 was that as soon as the hostages were freed (or even sooner) we were going to flatten Iran. Imagine my disappointment.

7 The last paragraph posted tells me the entire article isn't worth reading.

1. Eliminate Iran's nuclear program and probably any other WMD's they might have
2. Eliminate Iran's missile factories
3. Kill as much of the Iranian leadership as possible
4 Induce regime change by killing everyone that is involved in the murder of Iranian citizens.

It doesn't matter if the Iranian military know we're coming, they can't do anything to stop us.

8 Iran is excellent at asymmetrical war.

Over the last decades the Mullahs have successfully managed to make the West retreat and to diminish core Western freedoms to a larger extent than the Soviet Union ever could.

But past experiences have also shown that Iran is weak in a symmetrical military confrontation.

President George Wl Bush’s original plan clearly was to hit Iran as soon as Iraq was consolidated, but the CIA deliberately spiked that with the country estimate thingy they put out announcing that Iran had entirely given up their nuclear bomb development program.

And so, the current situation, which would have been infinitely worse had Israel not been wandering through the Iranian landscape this past quarter century, killing key people and breaking key things because they knew that the CIA had lied.
