1 Israel is our most important ally in the region. Why don't we have a base there?
Hell, even Russia had a base in Syria.
We have a giant airbase in Qatar and they're the home of Muslim Brotherhood, an enemy terrorist organization that is behind Hamas, Tucker Carlson and other adversaries.
Someone make this make sense.

Israel handles its own defense, though it is willing to partner on certain projects or accommodate America to some extent, because it does not trust anyone else to do so properly. And given that the Biden-Harris Politburo was willing to withhold missiles and bullets in the middle of the post-10/7 war, they are absolutely right.

There is the international observer thing in the Sinai that’s been there since Menachem Begin and Anwar Sadat signed the Camp David Accords peace treaty in front of President Jimmy Carter in 1979. Wikipedia has a page.
