Per standing German constitutional case law freedom of speech is "the foundation of any freedom", a provision "simply constitutive for Western democracy", the "noblest of all human rights" because it recognizes the intellect of man.

This is simply irreconcilable with the present legal reality in the EU and its member states.

The increasing disrespect for free speech rights is an effect of a general orientalization of the West. China, Russia and the Islamic world are increasingly seen as role models by the Western elites.

The Trump administration is pretty much alone in pushing back.
