4 Semi-relevant question here. It seems to be my destiny to pass one "The Kebab Shop" outlet or another several times a day. Any of you know offhand whether ownership is more halal or kosher? If the former, they've got nothing I want, no matter how tasty. If the latter, they're being pretty cagey about it, which bugs me, but at least I'd give 'em a try (and probably be back daily). Please?

6 I’ve never heard of a Jewish kebab shop, but the ones I knew in Germany were all owned by Moslem Turks, so that’s the extent of my experience.

7 Aaaand the internet provides an answer, if not the answer. In Columbus, Ohio, there is a kosher-certified fast food eatery — the Cordon Bleu-trained, Moroccan-Jewish chef-owner apparently wanted a retail outlet after two decades of catering, so not merely a kebab stand: Saba Middle Eastern Grill

8 Incidentally, not having ready the article closely enough, I had assumed that Zara is an Israeli brand. But according to the Israel Times, it is a Spanish company, merely that it is very popular in Israel and has a number of shops there.

9 Shoot. Sorry, tw. Slosh was just Zenobia with more of an identity crisis than usual, and that "The Kebab Shop" thing's just a SD fancy fast food chain. Prices like "13.6," sights and smells more La Jolla than Shashlik Belt, staff that's mostly Mexican or standard fastfood diversity. The one I visited this evening was so bland it completely quelled my interest. But thanks, as always.
