2 The mainland Chinese media is blaming the bamboo scaffolding while folks in the construction trade are blaming the non fire-resistant debris netting used, that and someone dropping a lit cigarette.

The bamboo scaffolding itself is fairly fire resistant and has been used for hundreds of years. Adding a fire-resistant netting (like we do here in the states) makes the whole thing pretty safe.

Apparently the police tested a piece of the netting being used and it went up like a torch. It's label even said that it was resistant but made in mainland China, so just another Temu type product.
