1 Hegseth asked his fellow officers to resign if they do not agree with his new military rules laid out during today's speech.

That's what it been since the inception of American forces, only recently politically debased.

As Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth neared the conclusion of his speech at Quantico, he pointed to the Gulf War as an ideal blueprint for U.S. military engagement — a conflict where American forces, alongside coalition partners, swiftly repelled Iraq’s occupation of Kuwait in a matter of months.

Referring back to the first comment - if the politicians don't want to win it, leave.

2 Good. The military is to break things and kill our enemies while building up the logistic to do so and maybe build back up the country after. A dude in a dress does not help that. Neither do fat bodies.

5 I think they called this meeting to spend money before the fiscal year ends. I mean, I've seen sillier uses of year-end money because, you know, they'll "lose it if they don't spend it".

6 I don't think we have enough physically fit soldiers, sailors and airmen to actually operate the military.

In certain specialties, e.g., ship operation, jet maintenance we are already pushing the limit.

Going forward our youth are not as fit as 40 years ago. So this will be a recruitment problem.

Not going to be easy.
