1 Ashland County is halfway between Cleveland and Columbus and includes Mansfield where Shawshank Redemption was filmed. The fair goers there are strictly NASCAR type folks. This was sale of 84-47 stuff was obviously a planned provocation to that group of funnel-cake chewing Hillbillies. My guess is this was a prank by local college students as Wooster is close. I am not interested in the bozos enough to even research their actual background.

They are in the right and the distasteful stuff should probably have been allowed, and unless they are Gender Studies majors they had legal representation lined up before their operation. I think what they are going to discover is that the coin has flipped and the plan that they made a month ago while they were stoned is now an extremely stupid one. They need to TAKE THE L. If they are offered a plea deal, they need to take it because otherwise they just might run into a prosecutor that wants to run for Sheriff or County Commissioner, and use this case as a ticket to promotion. He, she or he/she is libel to charge the pranksters with soliciting assassination, a bogus charge, but one that might stick in Ashland County where the entire jury might own overalls and a red hat. If found guilty, the verdict might be overturned unless the Appeals Court is worried about political ramifications. Once it makes it to the Ohio Supreme Court the defendants will discover that half the judges are named DeWine. Sure they are RINOs but the most fundamental RINO skill is their ability to read the room. In short, there will be no pardon until there is another Dem governor … in Ohio. Short of that the perps can look to the DOJ Civil Rights division for relief and see whether Harmeet wants to help them out.

2 I worked in Ashland for 12 years between the 1980s and 1990s. I thought those people & that place were wonderful.

3 In 1967 I visited the environs of UC at Berkeley. In those times silly buttons were all the rage, e.g. "LSD did this to me". "Where is Lee Harvey Oswald now that we need him" never got any publicity.
