2 Why do they call the F-35 "fighter jets"?

the F-35 cannot even dog fight, it can basically only fly very fast in a straight line.

3 The F-35 does have a gun for dogfighting but the whole idea of the F-35 is to kill the other guy well before dogfighting range. Then act as a forward controller for missiles fired from other aircraft.
