Now, now, let's not try to interject facts and geography into this. We're talking about the Russians.

When I was a kid, the National Enquirer ran a story about an evil Chinese plot where all the chinamen, on a given day, would climb up on step ladders and jump down at exactly the same instant. The change of momentum would knock the Earth out of its orbit, destroying all life. Those fiendish yellow devils! Left unexplained was why a group of people would do anything so contrary to self-interest.
