1 Remember Reagan placing tariffs on Japanese electronics 198_ something. But he had already had an alternative source of goods. With the US having started a CCP trade deal years prior around Mid-1981.

Which help stabilize the CCP and modernize it. Where the CCP then started stealing US technology and etc from vendors setting up production there.

Effectively the US "Capitalism" save the CCP and made it a Big 5 member nation

3 Called bullshit on this ad way back around inauguration when it was flooding youtube.

The video itself is sketchy, dressed up wearing plaid for radio of course, but Reagan, an actor, politician, and then president, spends the whole read looking at the paper never looking at the camera, radio address or not.

7 That add really upset me, using propaganda against us and the courts.. We must remember they have a 3 to 400% tariff on faming foods, eggs, chickens etc... The Canadians call it a farm protection act, and the dumbasses in canada "Believe" its not a tariff. Canada will live and learn. I do wish good luck to our self made socialist, soon to be communist, nation to our north.

9 This is annoying on a couple levels. One, a Canadian province is essentially trying to run a color revolution op against the United States. Diplomatically, it is like the neighbors dog coming over and pooping on the lawn.

The second is they cut and pasted Reagan's words invert the point he was trying to make. Reagan was explaining why, despite being a free trade advocate, he was imposing tariffs on Japan. The goal was not a trade war but fair trade, to get Japan to play nice. Pretty much analogous to what Trump is trying to do with Canadian farm tariffs, eh?

Reagan also warned about Congress interfering with the President's dealings with foreign governments. Somehow that part got snipped too.
