2 GPS signals are actually quite easy to jam, particularly along that troublesome air-ground interface. The signal is very weak by design.
Most of the recent complaints have come from aircraft use 'autoland' systems on approach, which is why they noticed. At cruising altitude (~30k ft) it likely wouldn't be detected.
