2 Israel is protecting itself and its troops with deadly effect. It is not clear to me why America is having problems — they shouldn’t be, so perhaps the issue is with host country defenses.

3 Though now that I read the article, it sounds like minor damage caused by falling bits of a destroyed attack that massive destruction intended when shooting off missiles.

6 Good instinct TW. Even if all the missiles were intercepted there is still a literal ton of debris falling down at supersonic speeds. Some of that will hit stuff on the ground and cause minor problems.
