My area started hitting $4.03 a gallon last night, and SAM's was $3.89.

Opps my Math mistake.

At 22 Gasoline gallons per barrel.
22x 189,000 = 4,158,000 Gallons of Gas won't be made PER DAY.
Typical US Car fuel tanks are about 15 gallons = 277,200 vehicles per day.

Given that same barrel of crude oil typically also produces about 11 to 13 gallons of diesel fuel

12 x 189,000 = 2,268,000 gallons of Diesel won't be made PER DAY.

A typical CDL Long Haul Diesel truck holds 250 to 300 gallons.

Using 250 as a mid-range number
2,268,000 gallons / 250 = 45,360 trucks won't be hauling food and supplies per day.

BUT! The US Strategic Petroleum Reserves are at around 372M barrels. The economy uses about 21M barrels of oil per day. So we have about 17 days in reserves.

BUT WORRY NOT
Of course there will be the usual other refineries in still working. So the Gas prices will just jump $0.20 to $0.25 cent a gallon. And Diesel will be around $6.00 a gallon.
