Wife & I were at a store yesterday evening.
We saw an older 60+ female crying and shaken.
So the wife inquired to help.

The lady responded she and others were SMS Texted and told they were immediately being laid off and NOT to report to work Monday.
Naturally thinking it was a joke. The woman had called her companies HR dept to warn them about the joke text msg.

HR Rep stated it was NOT a joke.

She and number of other office workers for this company were immediately laid off.

The crying woman had worked there 39 years.

What a crappy way to handle such long term staff.
