but doesn't it seem freaking obvious that IRGC is planning to do an October 7th-like massacre/hostage-taking somewhere

and then negotiate terms that include massive financial considerations and U.S.-out-of-Middle East, Etc. Etc. Etc.

3 I'm sure that the IRGC wants to, but that doesn't mean they are able to conduct operations in the US.

We all like to mock the CIA, FBI and other agencies and sometimes it is justified, but that doesn't mean the counter intelligence people are completely incompetent. It's not like I would have gone to DC for wrestling or New Jersey for FIFA anyway, but I'l be avoiding any likely targets just in case.
