Florida man shoots and kills roommates over arguments about ice cream, police say
[FOX] OCALA, Fla. - A Florida man is accused of shooting and killing both of his roommates after an alleged argument over ice cream, according to the Ocala Police Department.

Police arrested 69-year-old Mark Robinson on Wednesday night under suspicion of second-degree murder after two men were shot at his home on SE 8th Street. Police said one person was found dead inside the home. A second person was found shot outside the home, and transported to the hospital, where they later died.

On Thursday, Ocala police shared new details about its investigation into the shooting deaths.

Police said officers initially responded to the home Wednesday morning after the three roommates were arguing over someone allegedly eating another person's ice cream. The two roommates then left the home and went on a walk, police said.

Robinson told police that he then armed himself with a shotgun at the home because he feared that something bad was going to happen. When both roommates returned, Robinson said he and the others got into another argument, which is when one roommate allegedly "charged" at Robinson while holding a knife, investigators said.

#6  OMG, yes! It’s our go-to for special occasions when I don’t make chocolate mousse, Warthog. Best ice cream anywhere — they make it using the French Pot method from an extra high fat content cream, so you can feel as well as taste the difference. And nobody has their chocolate chunks — not chips — that melt on the tongue despite the ice cream itself being frozen hard, not soft serve. While it’s available in local grocery stores, each of their ice cream shops around town has its own unique charm. We used to bike to the Hyde Park Graeters for a cone sometime each weekend during the summer — it was precisely a mile, door to door from our first house, as measured by my engineer husband. ;-)

Video: Cops Across the U.S. Brace for Dangerous Street Takeovers on Halloween Weekend
[Breitbart] Police in cities across the U.S. aren’t worried about ghosts and goblins on this Halloween weekend. They’re prepped for the real horror show they expect — dangerous, disruptive, and lawless street takeovers.

Authorities from the Jersey Shore in the east to suburban Atlanta in the south are establishing curfews for teenagers and bumping up police patrols, with metropolitan areas still reeling from takeovers that have drawn hundreds of teens and young adults and erupted in lawless, urban chaos.

Sgt. Betsy Brantner Smith of the National Police Association told Fox News that police departments need to be more proactive on Halloween as street takeovers show no signs of slowing down.

“On Halloween night, I can tell you from experience, our call volume goes up — you know, four or five, six times — because people are calling… because of fireworks,” Brantner Smith said.

Pyrotechnics can play a big role in takeovers involving cars, also known as “side shows” or “meetups.”

As Breitbart News has been reporting, street takeovers are not limited to or necessarily organized on social media by teenagers alone, as many other news outlets have incorrectly reported.

Typically, these events feature dystopian, other-worldly controlled chaos as cars burn circles in the middle of intersections with onlookers dangerously close by and others hanging out of the windows and sun roofs of the doughnut-burning cars.

The goal is to create a spectacular late night scene that can then be posted for clicks on social media.

Other types of takeovers, typically dominated by teens, don’t feature cars but draw huge crowds in commercial districts where often looting and violence break out.

In Oak Park, Illinois, the chief of police said that the department is trying to prevent a Halloween teen takeover like last year’s chaos, Fox reported.

On the 2025 holiday, some 500 teens swarmed downtown Oak Park, where fistfights and gunfire broke out, requiring police to call for help from six neighboring departments, according to a department memo.

Oak Park Chief of Police Shatonya Johnson said her department will be ramping up the number of officers on the Halloween shift as well as deploying several other public safety measures.

Residents in Oak Park’s neighboring town of Hyde Park plan to show up themselves on the streets to prevent large gatherings by teenagers.

“What we’re really trying to do is establish a critical mass on the street, possibly before the Halloween festivities even start,” said the founder of the community group “ollaBOOration,” formed in response to street takeover violence on previous holidays.

He continued, “So, when these large gatherings happen, like we’ve seen every year, we will already have taken over 53rd Street… We’ll be walking up and down in orange shirts and keeping in contact with one another.”

CBS News reported that after 7 p.m. on Halloween, teens under 16 in Covington, Georgia will be required to go home or have an adult with them if they’re in the downtown area of metropolitan Atlanta.

In Long Branch, New Jersey, police departments plan to strictly enforce a Halloween curfew for those under 17 on Oct. 31, which runs from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., according to local news outlets.

Departments could be taking a lesson from the Los Angeles Police Department which in September marshaled an impressive task force to put a stop to the lawless practice which has been plaguing the city for years.

Los Angeles cops apparently have had enough, Breitbart News reported.

That night in September, a police armada of 150 officers tracked movements and locations of the sideshow revelers with drones, then moved in, preventing anyone from leaving.

The impressive results of “Operation Street Sweep” in the Harbor Gateway neighborhood included 69 arrests, 200 cars impounded, and 570 people cited, including 128 juveniles who were past curfew.

Woman immortalized in Pulitzer-winning Vietnam photo is stunned to receive POW bracelet after 53 years
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A Vietnam veteran's daughter who features in one of the most famous photographs of the last century has told of her astonishment at receiving a poignant gift from a stranger 53 years later.

Lorrie Kitching was 15 years old in 1973 when her father, Lt Col Robert Stirm, returned home from Vietnam after spending more than five years as a prisoner of war (POW).

The moment of their reunion was captured in a Pulitzer-prize winning photograph known as 'Burst of Joy.'

The now-legendary image was taken by the Associated Press snapper Slava 'Sal' Veder at Travis Air Force Base in Solano County, California.

This week Kitching, now 69, revealed the emotional moment she received a package containing a POW bracelet engraved with her father's details.

POW bracelets were introduced in 1970 in a bid to keep military members' suffering in the front and center of the public's mind.

They featured the names of US servicemen and the date when they had been captured. Wearers vowed to keep them until the military members made it safely home.

Stirm had been shot down over Hanoi, North Vietnam, on October 27, 1967, and a bracelet was issued featuring his details.

All these years later Kitching, who lives in Mountain View, California, received one of the bracelets in a package from Mary Kay Potyraj of Michigan.

Potyraj found the bracelet while clearing out the belongings of her husband Rob after he died, KION reported.

'I was like, "Oh, this is unbelievable,"' Potyraj said. She explained how upon reading about Stirm's story she was inspired to track down his relatives.

‘I just did my best to figure out where this person is. Is there a family that would like to have it,’ Potyraj said.

Describing how moved she was to receive the unexpected package, Kitching told CBS13: ‘This isn’t just a piece of metal. It represents so much more.’

‘It’s the day I lost my Dad, and I didn’t know if he was going to be coming home,' Kitching added.

In a letter to Kitching, Potyraj wrote: ‘Dear Lorrie, so happy to reunite you with your father’s POW bracelet.'

Stirm died last year at the age of 92 and was laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery.

The POW Dark Side - The U.S. Government of that time, officially and knowingly abandoned US POW's, despite strong evidence.

* There was proof that Hanoi is holding back information on captives. Hanoi even stated so and used it in its negotiations with the Clinton Admin.

* Some 15+ years after the war ended, the US Gov (Clinton Admin) knew 300 +/- were still alive and being held.

* Despite this clear proof, U.S. officials continued resist mounting serious rescue efforts.

In fact there was a planned Special Ops HRT mission (SFOD-D) planned, loaded up, and about to head out to recover
known alive POW's held near the town of Tchepone, in the Seponh District of the Savannakhet Province, in Laos.

But it was stopped by the Clinton Admin as the US and Hanoi had started commercial production talks.

U. of Kentucky Employee Wins Religious Exemption from Mandatory AI Use
[Breitbart] A research administrator at the University of Kentucky has secured a legal exemption from his employer’s AI mandate on the grounds that using tools like ChatGPT would violate his humanist beliefs.

Tom’s Hardware reports that David Durman works as a research administrator at the University of Kentucky (UK) and identifies as a humanist. He told Religion News Service that letting artificial intelligence do his thinking for him would compromise his moral development. The university had been asking employees to use AI tools, including ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot, but Durman sought and received a Title VII religious accommodation exempting him from that requirement.

“The process and work involved in thinking through situations, through my work, through my ethics, through the way I handle other people, is a key component in being able to develop myself as a moral person,” Durman told RNS. Handing that labor over to a machine, he said, undermines his capacity to act ethically, no matter how convenient it might be. “And offloading that labor, regardless of whether it’s taxing or not, is undercutting my ability to be a moral actor,” he said.

Title VII, part of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, bars employment discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex and national origin. Humanism is often described as a secular philosophy rather than a religion, but federal courts have previously ruled that it qualifies as one for legal purposes. To win a Title VII exemption, a worker has to show that the belief behind the request amounts to a deep moral conviction, one that functions as an article of faith, and the accommodation can’t create “undue hardship” for the employer.

The American Humanist Association helped Durman pursue his request. Staff attorney Alexandria Huiskens said the case breaks new ground for the organization. “This is the first of its kind at the AHA and for humanism generally to exempt those who see AI use as flying in the face of their freedom of conscience,” she said. She framed the accommodation as consistent with how other religious traditions are treated at work. “For us, humanism is a comprehensive way of life,” she said. “It’s built on inherent worth and dignity, and everyone should have room to exercise this comprehensive way of life at work the same way Christians do, or Muslims do.”

The accommodation doesn’t remove Durman from all contact with AI at the university. He still has to attend meetings and work alongside colleagues who use the tools, and he may have to submit materials to AI systems when a job requires it. What’s changed is that he’s no longer personally required to run the software himself.

Ironically, Durman’s humanism “faith” is much more in line with the beliefs of AI evangelists and the Effective Altruism (EA) movement popular in the Silicon Valley hallways of power. Author Wynton Hall discusses the clash of AI technologists’ secular humanism and traditional faith in his New York Times bestseller Code Red: The Left, the Right, China, and the Race to Control AI.

As Hall explains, the Silicon Valley elite have long been at odds with traditional Christian values:

What’s really at stake, Hall argues, is the oldest argument in Western civilization: secular humanism’s belief that mankind is innately good and perfectible through engineering, versus the Judeo-Christian belief in fallen human nature that requires divine redemption, not technological upgrades. “Artificial intelligence is defective in the same way that a natural man is defective,” Hall quotes the pastor and theologian John Piper as saying. “It can rise no higher than the natural, fallen, unregenerate heart of man.” The Reverend Billy Graham agreed: “The real problem, you see, isn’t with computers or the code someone devises to control them. Our real problem is within us—within our own hearts and minds. . . . This is why our greatest need is to have our hearts changed—and that is something only God can do.”

The transhumanist movement, which Hall explores at length in CODE RED , takes the logic further still. In a famed 2004 issue of Foreign Policy on the theme of “the world’s most dangerous ideas,” political scientist Francis Fukuyama singled out transhumanism as the chief menace, warning that its incremental advance makes it appear “downright reasonable” until we start nibbling at “biotechnology’s tempting offerings without realizing that they come at a frightful moral cost.” Former Trump campaign strategist Stephen K. Bannon called it an “immoral Godless technological tsunami that openly declares its intent to transform human beings into a ‘posthuman’ state.”

Hall’s closing note, though, is not doom. He points to Y Combinator CEO Garry Tan, who now holds large gatherings in his home where Christians discuss faith with seekers in Silicon Valley. Just a few years ago, Tan said, such gatherings would have been “reviled in San Francisco.” He added: “People are so ready to make AGI their god. What we’re trying to do with events like this is give them an alternative.”

Big Tech returns smallest share of cash to shareholders in 15 years, given AI spending
[Reuters] The biggest US technology companies generated record amounts of cash in the first nine months of 2026, yet returned the smallest share of it to shareholders in at least 15 years as ‌surging artificial intelligence spending squeezed share buybacks.

The retreat threatens a long-standing source of support for technology share prices. With companies buying back fewer shares, investors are increasingly dependent on heavy AI investments delivering enough profit growth to justify their valuations.

Microsoft (MSFT.O), Alphabet (GOOGL.O), Amazon (AMZN.O), Meta (META.O) and Oracle (ORCL.N) returned 9.3% of the cash their businesses generated as dividends and buybacks in the first three quarters of the year, down from 27.4% a year earlier, a Reuters analysis of LSEG data and companies' financial reports showed.
Operating cash flow actually rose 29% from a year earlier to a record $542.9 billion.

But capital spending, driven by the AI boom, doubled to $556.9 billion, exceeding the cash the five firms generated for the first time in data going back to 2011.

That left them with a combined free cash flow deficit of $14 billion, against a surplus of $143.5 billion a year earlier.

The squeeze has hit buybacks hardest. The five companies cut repurchases 83% to $13.6 billion, from $81.8 billion a year earlier.

Tusk to address nation amid Constitutional Court situation
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk will address the nation amid the situation surrounding the Constitutional Court. This was announced on October 31 by the Prime Minister's Office.

According to information published on the office's page on the social network X, the performance will take place at 8:00 pm local time (10:00 pm Moscow time).

A political crisis erupted in Poland after Tusk's decision to appoint Maciej Berek, a former member of his cabinet, as a judge of the Constitutional Court. President Karol Nawrocki refused to swear him in. Berek later took the oath of office in parliament, but Constitutional Court President Bohdan Święczkowski barred him from serving.

On October 17, tens of thousands of people gathered for a protest in front of the Constitutional Tribunal building in Warsaw. Most of them were representatives of the PiS party, led by Jarosław Kaczyński. On October 31, the situation in Warsaw escalated, and additional police forces were deployed to protect the area.

On October 31, Nawrocki announced the violent seizure of the Constitutional Court building in Warsaw the previous night. He also called an emergency meeting with all parties.

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev called the situation surrounding the Constitutional Court in Poland a constitutional coup. He claimed that Tusk's liberals are "oppressing" the conservatives from the Law and Justice Party, including for their hatred of Banderites. Medvedev drew a parallel with Ukraine, claiming that the court there "was long ago purged."

Four protesters at the Constitutional Court in Warsaw were detained.
Four participants in a rally near the Constitutional Court in Warsaw were detained. This was reported by the city police on October 31.

Three of them entered the premises of the Constitutional Court. Another insulted a police officer.

"A total of four people were detained," Warsaw police wrote in X.

A political crisis erupted in Poland following Prime Minister Donald Tusk's decision to appoint Maciej Berek, a former member of his cabinet, as a judge on the Constitutional Court. This led to a rally in mid-October, with tens of thousands of people protesting. Most of the protesters were members and supporters of Law and Justice, Poland's largest opposition party. Its leader, Jarosław Kaczyński, was also present.

Since September, France has also seen mass protests by schoolchildren dissatisfied with the shortage of teachers, overcrowded schedules, and the poor condition of educational institutions. Some of the protests have been accompanied by riots. By October 4, protesters had vandalized or set fire to 24 educational institutions, and another 400 to 500 had temporarily closed due to security threats.

"That night, the constitutional order of the Republic of Poland was violated, and a constitutional state body was seized by force," Nawrocki noted in a statement on the president's official website.

He called for order to be restored and stated that urgent consultations with parliamentary representatives would be convened to stabilize the situation. Nawrocki added that he had already consulted with the first President of the Supreme Court, Zbigniew Kapiński, who also did not recognize the actions of what he called the "usurpers of power" as legal.

At the heart of the Polish conflict is the confrontation between pro-European liberals, led by Prime Minister Donald Tusk, and right-wing conservatives, represented by Nawrocki.

The situation escalated after Tusk's decision to appoint Marcin Berek, a former minister in his government, as a judge of the Constitutional Court. Nawrocki refused to swear him in.

A Russian man arrested for espionage in Poland turned out to be a railway enthusiast.
A Russian citizen detained in Poland allegedly for espionage turned out to be an ordinary railway spotter. This was reported by a railway enthusiast on October 31.

The day before, Polish police detained a Russian citizen in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. He was accused of espionage for photographing railway infrastructure.

"In railway circles, it was immediately clear who he was. He's simply a railway enthusiast. He's also interested in other modes of transport, but especially railways," a source told RIA Novosti.

The source clarified that the detainee had lived in Germany for a long time and regularly visited Western European countries. His activities were exclusively related to amateur photography and the study of railway transport, as evidenced by his extensive portfolio.

OK, I'll ask the stupid question.

So when will we see indictments for James Comey, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page and several Main Stream Media's on felony charges for Subversion, Treason and/or illegal release and publication of US T.S. classified materials?

Or is this just gonna be another DC Swamp TV episode to keep us looking in a different direction from other issues?

#3  Wow, does that mean somebody's gonna get arrested? I humbly request that someone wake me up when that happens.

If we keep demanding equal application of the law to include the DC Swamp.... We likely will be the ones arrested. (see the UK for example).

The George W. Bush Project Caves, Endorses Ken Paxton in Order to Save Texas
[RedState] The George W. Bush Project makes it clear that while they are dedicated to promoting the conservative legacy of President George W. Bush (a bit of a stretch), they have no official affiliation with the former U.S. leader.

From the project's X bio:

Independent project dedicated to advancing the conservative legacy of the 43rd President of the United States (not officially affiliated with George W. Bush)

But how many people are going to pay attention that? Which is why this sleight-of-hand, last-minute non-endorsement-endorsement of Texas Republican Attorney General and U.S. Senate nominee Ken Paxton is interesting.
