A convicted murderer has escaped from prison in Tennessee
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited
[Regnum] Authorities in the US state of Tennessee are conducting a manhunt for Jacob Morley, a prisoner serving a life sentence for the murder of the late Jacob Morley, who escaped from a correctional facility. This was reported on October 26 by The Guardian.

The inmate was serving a life sentence at the Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville. A review of surveillance footage revealed that Morley managed to breach the prison fence and leave the prison wearing a Department of Corrections uniform. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) reported that the 28-year-old man stole a white pickup truck overnight.

Morley is currently on the TBI's Most Wanted list, and a reward of up to $2,500 is offered for information leading to his arrest.

Morley was serving a life sentence for the murder of Tennessee resident Cody Birchfield. Birchfield disappeared in February 2022, and about a month later, his body was found buried under Morley's home. He was also convicted of aggravated burglary, tampering with evidence, evading arrest, and vandalism.
The rest of the post has nothing to do with the escaped Tennessee prisoner, except that they are prison escapes around the world, but Regnum does like putting its stories in some kind of perspective.
Two inmates previously escaped from a prison in the French city of Dijon (Burgundy region) using sheets tied together. They scaled the fence using blankets draped over barbed wire. One of the escapees, a 19-year-old man, is being investigated for attempted murder and conspiracy, while the other, a 32-year-old man, is accused of threatening and aggravated systematic violence against a family member.

Also in France, a 20-year-old Frenchman, convicted of theft and human trafficking, managed to escape from prison in a bag containing the dirty laundry of a fellow inmate who had served his sentence and been released.

In May, New Orleans police released footage of 11 inmates escaping from prison. The escapees were reportedly charged with various offenses, including weapons possession, attempted murder, murder, and domestic violence.

Black bear shreds car to pieces after getting locked inside: ‘Fighting pretty good'
[NYP] A sneaky black bear broke into a family’s Subaru in Alaska and unleashed mass destruction after it locked itself inside.

Just after midnight on Monday, a large bear got trapped inside the unlocked Subaru in Juneau, KTUU reported.

The four-legged bandit had snuck into three vehicles that night, the car’s owner Michael Wilson said, describing the bizarre ordeal as "the Goldilocks situation, except he got locked in the last car."

[People] A flight attendant who has worked in the industry for more than six decades was met with a huge crowd to celebrate her final flight and retirement earlier this week.

The milestone flight marked the official retirement for 83-year-old Carol Fair, American Airlines’ most senior flight attendant who served in the industry for over 63 years, according to local outlets, WCNC and WWNY. On Monday, Oct. 26, Fair embarked on her last flight aboard American Airlines 733 from London to Charlotte, N.C., marking the end of a career that she first started at just 19 years old.

"It was amazing, just amazing," Fair told WCNC. "I never dreamed a little girl from East Tennessee, 19 years old, [would be here] today.

Polish woman who smuggled 2,500 Jewish children to safety in toolboxes, suitcases, and coffins rejected WWII ‘hero' label
[Upworthy] Irena Sendler’s father taught her that if someone is drowning, you help them, regardless of their religion or nationality. That upbringing led the Polish Catholic social worker to risk her own life to help save 2,500 Jewish babies and children from the clutches of Nazi terror.

Sendler was a 29-year-old social worker in Warsaw when World War II began in 1939. The following year, the Nazis forced Warsaw’s Jews into the ghetto, and Sendler began using her position and connections to smuggle food and money to them.

She joined Zegota, the underground, state-sponsored Council for Aid to Jews, which formed in 1942. Zegota helped hide Polish Jews from Hitler’s regime, in addition to providing them with food, financial assistance, forged documents, and medical care. As head of Zegota’s children’s section in 1943, Sendler focused her efforts on getting babies and children to safety.

Between 1940 and 1943, most of the Jews in the Warsaw ghetto were killed. Tens of thousands died of starvation and disease in the dirty, overcrowded conditions. Around 265,000 were sent to the Treblinka extermination camp in 1942. An uprising of resistors resulted in the destruction of what remained of the ghetto and the deportation of whoever was left in May of 1943.

In the midst of all of that chaos and killing, Irena Sendler and her companions focused on smuggling babies and children out of the Warsaw ghetto.

Sendler entered the ghetto to help by obtaining a pass to monitor health conditions. "German authorities were afraid of being exposed to deadly diseases like typhus and tuberculosis," historian Dr. Ewa Wampuszyc shares in a video interview. "These were diseases that were actually caused by the ghettos that they themselves had created."

Trump's unusual legal gambit against Biden-era deportation rule pays off at Supreme Court
[FoxNews] The rule allowed immigration judges to delay deportation proceedings while migrants sought asylum or other relief

The Supreme Court, with no noted dissents, has allowed an agreement between Texas and the Department of Justice ending a Biden-era immigration rule to go into effect.

The Biden administration adopted the rule in 2024, formally establishing procedures for immigration judges to temporarily pause certain deportation proceedings through a practice known as "administrative closure," including when migrants were pursuing immigration relief through other federal proceedings. The Supreme Court's move leaves in place a lower court ruling eliminating that rule, stripping away a procedure that allowed certain deportation cases to be put on hold.

Texas sued the federal government in June, arguing that the rule was adopted without proper legal authority.

The Department of Justice agreed with Texas, asking the judge overseeing the case to vacate the rule and prevent similar rules from being adopted in the future.
So we’re just returning to the status quo ante? Good.

Scientists have compiled a database of Arctic ice formations
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited
[Regnum] Scientists from Rosneft's Arctic Research Center (ARC) have compiled a unique database of ice formations on the Arctic shelf and islands of the Russian Arctic. This was announced at a roundtable discussion held in honor of the ARC's 15th anniversary as part of the 15th International Scientific and Practical Conference "Marine Research and Education."

Thus, more than 200 ice fields and over 500 ice formations—icebergs, hummocks, and stamukhas—were studied. Specialists determined the seasonal variability of the properties of level ice and ice formations at five Arctic testing sites.

In addition, scientists conducted 36 experiments towing icebergs of various shapes and sizes. The total mass of the towed icebergs exceeded 5 million tons, with one moving 50 nautical miles. Russia's first scientifically proven technology for protecting offshore oil and gas facilities from iceberg collisions was developed and tested. For its development and implementation, ASC researchers were awarded the Russian Government Prize in Science and Technology.

[Regnum] Scientists have collected new data on polar bears and Atlantic walruses during Arctic expeditions. This was reported at a roundtable discussion held in honor of the 15th anniversary of the Arctic Scientific Center, as part of the 15th International Scientific and Practical Conference "Marine Research and Education."

From 2020 to 2023, under an agreement with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, scientists studied polar bear, Atlantic walrus, wild reindeer, and ivory gull populations as part of the Ecology national project. This study yielded new data on the largest walrus population on the Franz Josef Land archipelago. Polar bears in the Barents Sea subpopulation have been found to have encountered viral pathogens.

In addition, scientists established ivory gull monitoring sites in the northeastern Kara Sea and collected a representative collection of biological samples. Natural population fluctuations were observed in wild reindeer populations, with a stable proportion of young individuals. In collaboration with Biotechnology Campus LLC, a high-quality complete polar bear genome was obtained, identifying new genes potentially associated with adaptation to harsh conditions.

[BB] On Tuesday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Hannity,” U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Mike Waltz said that Secretary of State Marco Rubio has signed the papers to expel the Cuban diplomat “who shoved and tried to assault one of our American diplomats.”

Waltz said, “Final thing: Just before I came on tonight, Secretary Rubio signed the paperwork to eject the diplomat that thought he could — the Cuban diplomat, the first secretary of their delegation, who shoved and tried to assault one of our American diplomats. He’s gone.”

Waltz continued, “He is going to be on a plane to Havana within the next 24 hours. You lay a hand on an American here in the United States, President Trump, Secretary Rubio, and myself, we’re not going to stand for it. There will be consequences.”

Federal Judge Strikes Down New York Body Armor Ban
[ZERO] A federal judge this past week overturned New York state's ban on the sale and purchase of body armor, saying it violated the Constitution's Second Amendment.

In a 47-page ruling on Oct. 21, U.S. District Judge John Sinatra wrote that body armor is encompassed under the Second Amendment's right for citizens to bear arms. He also wrote that under two gun-related Supreme Court rulings in 2008 and 2022, the understanding of what "arms" meant at the time of the founding of the United States would include protective armor.

The state's "body armor ban violates the plain text of the Second Amendment and the Nation's historical traditions have not permitted such a curtailment of the right to keep and bear arms," the judge wrote, adding that the "restriction categorically violates the right of individuals to keep and bear arms for self-defense."

Sinatra cited the Supreme Court's 2022 New York State Rifle & Pistol Association, Inc. v. Bruen ruling that established the legal test on firearms, which is that "the government must demonstrate that the regulation is consistent with this Nation's historical tradition of firearm regulation."

He wrote that defensive armor would likely be understood as "an 'arm' protected by the plain text of the Second Amendment during the time of the founding of the United States

#2  I disagree with the judge's ruling. How is body armor encompassed in the Second Amendment. Are shirts encompassed in the Second Amendment? Hats? Shoes? Pants? How about boxer shorts? What about bras and panties?

None of these items can hurt anybody. They are not weapons, or arms (well, some might argue about push-up bras and mini-skirts). That's why it's every bit as ridiculous for the State of New York to ban body armor as it would be to ban shirts and pants.

The judge should have ruled the ban unconstitutional because it's just plain ridiculous.

El Salvador rushes some 1,000 troops to Haiti after gang ambush, source says
[Reuters] El Salvador has sent about 1,000 troops to Haiti after four Salvadoran members of a UN-backed security mission went missing in a gang ambush on the outskirts of the capital on October 18, a security official in Haiti told Reuters ‌on Tuesday.

The troops' arrival aboard flights in recent days dramatically expands the Central American nation's role in Haiti's long-standing gang conflict. Yet it remains unclear who will command the new Salvadoran contingent, how long it will stay in Haiti or whether more forces will follow.

Neither the Haitian nor Salvadoran government immediately responded to requests for comment. The official in Haiti spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the security situation.

The deployment comes as the UN-backed Gang Suppression Force has reached about 2,000 personnel, just over a third of its planned strength a year into its mandate, with little improvement in Haiti's security.

Armed gangs in Haiti have meanwhile expanded their influence over the capital and surrounding regions through extortion and brutal attacks that have displaced nearly 1.5 million people.

Haiti's leaders have sought international security support since 2022, despite the country's fraught history of foreign intervention. Gangs' influence grew rapidly after the 2021 assassination of President Jovenel Moise, deepening an insecurity crisis that has caused authorities to repeatedly delay elections.

Pierre Esperance, head of Haiti's National Human Rights Defense Network, welcomed the unusually rapid Salvadoran deployment and said he hoped it would help stop gangs from terrorizing civilians. But he warned that any operation must avoid harming residents trapped in gang-held neighborhoods.

"Not everybody living in gang-controlled areas are gangsters," he said.

President Nayib Bukele last week announced a military operation to recover the missing Salvadorans, who remain unaccounted for since jumping from a burning vehicle during the ambush. He has not said how many troops would be sent.

The US provided C-130 transport aircraft to help move Salvadoran troops to Haiti, a US military official said.

Additional commercial and military flights between San Salvador and Port-au-Prince were visible on ‌flight-tracking site Flightradar24 and were also reported by the Miami Herald.

#1  Shackled, shaved and in uniform: first inmates arrive at Costa Rica mega-prison

SAN JOSE, Oct 27 (Reuters) - Costa Rica has locked up the first 123 inmates in a new mega-prison, built with the help of the Salvadoran government in the outskirts of capital San José, the country's ‌justice ministry said on Tuesday.

The ministry shared images showing rows of inmates dressed in orange, seated with shaved heads bowed and their hands behind their necks, in poses resembling photographs from El Salvador's Terrorism Confinement Center, the mega-prison where President Nayib Bukele's government holds tens of thousands of gang members and suspected gang affiliates.

Costa Rica's maximum security prison, which it calls the High Containment Center against Organized Crime (CACCO), has been presented by the government of President Laura Fernandez as a symbol of a new "tough on crime" approach championed by her administration in response to a security crisis facing Costa Rica, once one of the most peaceful countries in the Western Hemisphere.

"Costa Rica is writing a new chapter in its penitentiary history," Justice Minister Gabriel Aguilar ‌said in a statement. "CACCO is a monument to national security, a forceful response to organized crime, and a guarantee that the state will exercise its authority without hesitation." Aguilar has said the new facility will also help reduce overcrowding in the prison system.
The prison has a capacity for 5,100 inmates, equivalent to 20% of the country's prison population.

Costa Rica, long regarded as one of the safest countries in Latin America, has in recent years experienced a sharp rise in violence linked to drug trafficking and organized crime. The country recorded a record number of homicides in 2023, although figures have since stabilized.
Authorities attribute most killings to disputes between criminal groups over drug trafficking routes and markets.

Dutch civil service to cut 25,000 public sector jobs using AI
[DM] At least 25,000 civil servants in the Netherlands are set to lose their jobs to AI.

The cost-saving bid aims to save taxpayers €3.5billion (£2.9billion) a year - and comes under plans to cut around 15 per cent of all government jobs over the next decade.

Police and defence will be exempt from the cuts, which are driven by efforts to improve efficiency as the country strives to save €900million from its central budget by next year.

It comes after staff hired by the Dutch government has grown by 40 per cent since 2018, with the creation of 46,500 new roles.

The Dutch cabinet, under prime minister Rob Jetten, will outline next year how AI will be used to make the civil service 'simpler, smarter and smaller' by increasing productivity.

Eric van der Burg, the state secretary of the Netherlands, said: 'We cannot keep doing what we have been doing.

'With too many rules, exceptions and procedures, we sometimes make it unnecessarily difficult for ourselves to solve problems.'

He continued: 'Yet residents and businesses should be able to count on a government that does what is necessary.

Hackers target US FEC system, disrupting campaign finance disclosures days before midterms
[Reuters] The US Federal Election Commission's website was targeted by a hacker or hackers, according to an email seen by Reuters, disrupting the agency's electronic filings system a week before the November 3 elections.

The hack comes as so-called super PACs and dark money groups spend ‌record sums in the final days of the races. The elections will determine whether President Donald Trump's Republicans maintain their majorities in Congress for the next two years.

In a statement, the FEC said, "At this time, the FEC's electronic filing system is currently offline and our IT staff are actively working to restore service." The FEC, which tracks the spending of candidates and political committees, said users could still search the website for past reports. A status message posted by the FEC said its filing system had been down since around 10 p.m. ET on Monday (0200 GMT Tuesday).

Around 8 p.m. ET on Tuesday (0000 GMT Wednesday), a new status message said the issue "has been identified and a fix is being implemented." The FEC did not immediately return a message seeking comment and a notice on its website said its filing system remained offline.

The FEC does not play a role in administering US elections and the outage should have no effect on voters' ability to cast ballots.

The outage does prevent organizations from filing the FEC's 24-hour and 48-hour spending reports, which show how much political groups and others are spending on specific races.

"I've never seen this in 26 years," said Steven Mele, president and CEO at political finance compliance firm MBA Consulting Group.

The FEC posted the notice to its website after campaign finance officers could not file mandatory reports late on Monday.

"We have a bad actor attempting to breach FEC systems. As a result, we’ve had to temporarily shut down our ‌web facing services," an FEC electronic filings officer said in the email to several campaign compliance firms that night.

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and the FBI both referred questions to the FEC.

So many LSD's are campaigning not on what they will do, but on skewed misleading claims of what other have done in office. Some on which they even voted for.

Spain train crash live: At least 10 dead after two high-speed trains collide near Toledo
[Reuters] Hundreds of passengers were on board

We can bring you more details from Esther Padilla, spokesperson for the regional government of Castilla La Mancha, where the crash took place.

Padilla told Cadena SER radio that the crash appeared to have involved a high-speed AVE train operated by Renfe, the state railway company, colliding with a stationary high-speed train operated by private company Iryo, on the Madrid-Seville line near Urda, in the province of Toledo.

Padilla said several carriages plunged down an embankment following the collision.

She described a major emergency response involving firefighters, medical teams and nearby hospitals.

She said 147 people, including a baby, were on board the Iryo train and 397 passengers were travelling on the Renfe service.

Hospitals in Toledo, Alcázar de San Juan and Ciudad Real had been activated to receive casualties, she said.

Trump attempts to save Ken Paxton during Texas double-header with last-ditch vow to unleash 1 million barrels of 'free oil'... as Republicans fear the worst
[DM] President Donald Trump attempted to save Texas Republican Senate candidate Ken Paxton Tuesday with a double-header of rallies and a pledge of 'free' oil that his administration was bringing into the United States.

Paxton, the state's attorney general, is locked in a tight race against Democratic state Representative James Talarico, in what has traditionally been a very red state.

Most polls this month have shown Paxton trailing, alarming Republicans that the seat is in great danger.

Trump attended the first rally of the day in the port city of Corpus Christi, where the oil tanker Angerona was docked outside.

'We have a little breaking news,' he told the audience. 'See that little ship out there? That's got 1 million barrels of oil on it from Venezuela. And we're celebrating the greatest oil victory in history. To the victor belong the spoils, right?'

In January, Trump ordered US forces to capture Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, putting his No. 2, Delcy Rodríguez, in charge. In August, he announced an agreement granting the US a fifth of Venezuela's oil. And on Tuesday, the first shipment had arrived.

'But the oil on the ships outside is being provided to the United States at zero cost to the American taxpayer. That's not bad,' he added.

Paxton - and many Republicans on the ballot - are facing headwinds due to the high gas prices caused by Trump's war with Iran, with gas hitting an average of $4.27 per gallon nationally, and the slightly lower average of $3.71 in Texas.

Paxton's Historic Settlement with TX Children's Hospital Leads to 1st Detransition Clinic
[BB] Texas Children’s Hospital has officially opened a medical clinic for patients seeking care after undergoing gender-transition interventions, fulfilling a requirement of a legal settlement that also required the hospital to pay $10 million, as Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) and Democrat James Talarico compete in a U.S. Senate race with contrasting records on transgender policies.

Trump announces end of Biden-era methane rule, citing $45B in savings
[FoxBusiness] The rollback comes as president pushes to boost domestic energy production amid high fuel prices.

President Donald Trump said Tuesday that his administration is ending a Biden-era rule aimed at reducing methane emissions from oil and gas drilling.

The president announced the move during a campaign rally in Lubbock, Texas, in support of Republican U.S. Senate candidate Ken Paxton, saying it would save consumers and energy producers $45 billion and unlock 210 million barrels of oil.

"Tonight, I'm officially terminating Biden's expensive and unnecessary methane regulations to save consumers and energy producers $45 billion in costs, unlock vast quantities of Texas natural gas, and produce 210 million barrels of oil," Trump said.

He added, "We've been working on this for a long time."

The rollback comes as Trump pushes to increase domestic energy production amid high fuel prices and the U.S. war with Iran.

Methane is the main component of natural gas and a major source of greenhouse gas emissions. Oil and gas operations are the largest industrial source of methane emissions, according to The Associated Press.

Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin said last month that the agency would end its "Super Emitter Program," which requires companies to find and fix major methane leaks. The EPA would also loosen rules for smaller oil and gas wells, the outlet reported.

OK! Methane is used in producing hydrogen, methanol, ammonia and others things. All of which are needed for fertilizers and other industrial produce processing. In short it lowers food production costs.

But what will $45B actually mean in the overall final delivered price?
With the US producing and using over 35+ trillion cubic feet per year. At around $26.45 per thousand cubic feet.

We talking a few pennies per thousand cubic feet?

So this is little more than attention deflection.

OBTW: The Human body releases about 7% per Fart?
    Veggin's more so.

So let's also tax over producers like Greenies / Veggin's for their over releases, or they can support their cause and just hold it. 🦍💨

#9  Ok — I just tried to pull up a link I had saved from Michael Yon’s old website about Gobar Gas, which apparently no longer exists. Not a problem, but wondering if he had transferred it to wherever he is writing now, I looked him up and found him on Substack, saying/writing things like this:

Iran War Unmasked: Michael Yon on Zionist Routes & Depopulation Play
Routes, Resources & Global Famine: Michael Yon Exposes Unrestricted Warfare & the Cult Driving It

    Mar 18, 2026
In this update with former Green Beret and global conflict analyst Michael Yon, he breaks down the escalating Iran War, the strategic closure of the Strait of Hormuz, and how Zionist forces are using this to advance their depopulation agenda through impending engineered famine, major energy disruption, and control of global routes.

Drawing on decades of on-the-ground experience, Michael warns that this is the continuation of World War Three. He covers Trump as a Zionist puppet, the risks to US forces, and the long-term plan for a slave planet via digital currency and grid control.

However, as Michael emphasises, Courage is Contagious and resistance for all of us begins by refusing to go along with evil, whether passively or actively.

    Science & Technology
Beatrix Potter's real legacy wasn't whimsical illustrations about rabbits
[Science Blog] n 1902, a small book about a rabbit in a blue jacket went into print. Within a few years its author was spending the money it earned on hill farms in Cumbria. The woman who drew Peter Rabbit spent the second half of her life becoming a serious hill farmer, and she used her will to lock that work in place long after she was gone.

THE AUTHOR AND THE HILL FARMER
Beatrix Potter is remembered as the illustrator of small animals in waistcoats. The sheep breeder is a much quieter figure.

In 1905 she used the money from her early books to buy Hill Top Farm in Near Sawrey. Over the following decades she kept buying land, until she had assembled a large estate of working farms.

This was not a rich woman’s hobby. She bred prize-winning Herdwick sheep, worked closely with her shepherd Tom Storey, and by 1943 had been elected the first woman president of the Herdwick Sheep Breeders’ Association. She died that December before she could take up the post.
