Houston business accused of taking part in the illegal “birth tourism” industry has officially been shut down following a lawsuit filed by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.
Paxton announced on Friday that the De’Ai Postpartum Care Center and its operators must cease operations and facilitate births. The lawsuit was initiated in April 2026. It alleged that the center, which has operated for nearly 20 years, was actively helping people from foreign countries evade federal immigration rules to give birth on U.S. soil, according to Fox 26 in Houston.
The center was responsible for more than 1,000 such births.
The operation involved coaching Chinese natives to come to or stay in the U.S. unlawfully by hiding that purpose from the outset was to give birth. The women were advised to apply for visas "before pregnancy" so they didn’t raise alarm bells.
The Center marketed its services through popular Chinese social media platforms and websites.

Isaac Bledsoe is a federal Special Agent in Charge of the Inspector General’s Miami office at Health and Human Services. He says his agency got onto the fraud through a tip.
“So believe it or not, we had an individual whose family member had reached out to them, asked if they could borrow somewhere around $16,000, that if they had the money, there's a school in South Florida that will give them a nursing diploma,” Bledsoe recently told Full Measure, in explaining the scheme.
“So we started off with an undercover immediately, where we had an undercover reach out to one of these schools in South Florida, put themselves out as an individual who has no healthcare background but looking to buy, wants to be a nurse, looking to buy a nursing diploma and ‘what can they do?’”
The video shows the undercover agent talking to fraudster Geralda Adrien about buying a nursing degree with no training or classes required.
“It depends on how ready you are,” Adrien tells the agent who is posing as a wannabe nurse. “Because if you’re ready to go now, I have a way of getting you tested in a school in New York. It is the easiest state for processing. You don’t have to go to New York, you can test here [Florida] but you just get processed through the board of New York.”
Adrien’s companies functioned as brokers for the entire racket, conspiring with the owners and operators of actual accredited Florida nursing schools that issued fraudulent diplomas and transcripts. The undercover agent was able to buy his fake diploma for $16,000.
Bledsoe says the group of fraudsters sold $250 million in fake diplomas across the country to 15,000 “nurses.” Many of them have disappeared into America’s health care system.

During an earlier hearing, Kazmierczak, who is in his mid-50s, was unable to explain his actions.
"It’s fuzzy," he told U.S. District Judge Joan N. Ericksen when asked what he remembered.
Witnesses saw Kazmierczak jump up from the audience during the meeting, spraying liquid from a syringe at Omar and saying she was "splitting Minnesota apart." Omar’s security officers quickly tackled Kazmierczak to the ground, then took him to coppers who placed him under arrest.
Omar was not injured and continued with the town hall after the arrest.
"I’m sorry if I scared you," he wrote to Omar later, accepting responsibility for what he’d done.
Authorities later determined he’d sprayed her with a mixture of water and apple cider vinegar. He was charged with assaulting a U.S. officer.
The government sentencing memorandum, submitted to the court by prosecutors, said he had texted at least three people indicating he planned to do something at the meeting involving Omar "but would not answer their questions about his intent."
He also sent messages to a neighbor to arrange for dog care and contacts for a bail bond company.
The sentencing memo said Kazmierczak had long struggled with alcohol abuse, had "a history of mental and emotional health concerns" and also had a string of health issues tied to a 2022 diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease.

From September 14 through 15, the passenger traveled from Emeryville, California back to Denver.
The travel routes show the passenger traveled through Alameda, Butte, Kern, Los Angeles, Sacramento and San Joaquin counties.

Most Americans are vaccinated against measles. Entry to the US requires MMR (measles,mumps, rubella) vax. Two possible reservoirs for the disease are anti-vax Karens and recent illegal 3rd World immigrants.

The CDC also reports estimates of both medical and non-medical exemptions to vaccination requirements. While medical exemptions remained stable at 0.2% in 2024-25, non-medical exemptions reached an all-time high of 3.4%, with 3.6% of kindergartners receiving an exemption from at least one vaccine. This represents approximately 138,000 children across the country.
They also break it down by vaccine, which is less of a concern for this discussion. The key is that there are probably hundreds of thousands of American adults who are not inoculated against measles. It comes just weeks after another court struck down a major part of the National Firearms Act (NFA) involving suppressors, short-barreled rifles, and short-barreled shotguns, as we previously wrote.
The big news out of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals on Friday involves Elite Precision Customs v. ATF, and comes via SCOTUS Wire, who shared it as part of a thread with some analysis after the story broke:

[BB] A report from CBS News indicated that President Donald Trump ordered the Department of Justice (DOJ) not to appeal the ruling against suppressor registration secured in August via the Silencer Shop v. ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) lawsuit.
Breitbart News reported that verdict on August 5, 2026, noting that Judge James Wesley Hendrix in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas found registration requirements for suppressors and short barrel rifles and shotguns “unconstitutional” in the absence of a tax.

[BB] On Thursday, Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon put Minnesota on notice that a lawsuit is coming over the state’s permit to purchase “scheme” regarding handguns “and certain rifles.”
In a letter addressed to Gov. Tim Walz (D), Dhillon noted that Minnesota provides residents with two options for handgun purchases: 1) A Transferee Report, or 2) A Permit to Purchase. She noted that the former takes 30 days to be approved and those applying for the latter must give police “up to 30 days to grant the Permit to Purchase.”
Either way, Dhillon pointed out, Minnesota residents “wait up to thirty day to be allowed to purchase a firearm,” and she pointed out that “some citizens have been forced to wait nearly 60 days.
Dhillon noted that the Supreme Court of the United States has warned against “regimes where… lengthy wait times in processing license applications… deny ordinary citizens their right to public carry.” She then described the enforcement of Minnesota’s laws regarding Transferee Reports and Permits to Purchase as “unlawful” and made clear she has “authorized the filing of a complaint in federal district court against the state.”

[BB] The Financial Times reports that the New York Times and other media outlets are seeking billions of dollars in damages from OpenAI and Microsoft, arguing the companies infringed copyright by training AI models on publishers’ content without permission. Lawyers for the Times filed new evidence Thursday in a case that turns on whether AI systems built on copyrighted journalism amount to theft or fair use.
The filing alleges that “defendants repeatedly copied millions of . . . copyrighted articles in their entirety without permission to produce substitutive commercial AI products.”
One new detail: OpenAI allegedly used techniques to get around the Times‘ paywall, and Greg Brockman, the company’s co-founder and now its president, knew about it. An employee told Brockman about “a hack to get around NY Times paywall,” the filing says. Brockman’s reported response was “ah nice.”
The filing also cites writing attributed to Brockman from around 2017, in which he described being “deeply motivated by the gazillions” as he considered commercializing OpenAI’s technology.
OpenAI says training its models on publicly available content is fair use, arguing that its large language models transform rather than replicate original material. But the filing quotes OpenAI’s own head of ChatGPT describing AI products as an “existential threat” to publishers, adding that such products “are largely substitutive, period [and] will get more and more substitutive as they get better.”
Brent Hecht, Microsoft’s director of applied science, is quoted describing the training of large language models on copyrighted content as “an astonishing theft of unprecedented proportions.” He’s also quoted warning that a win for OpenAI and Microsoft would “make a complete mockery of the idea of ‘fair use.'” Microsoft’s response: “these comments reflect one employee’s individual perspective, are not a legal analysis.”
Separately, Microsoft’s own data, cited in the filing, shows click-through rates to the underlying content were 83% to 93% lower for users of its AI answer tools than for users of a traditional search engine.
Satya Nadella, Microsoft’s chief executive, testified in the case that he “had been made aware that OpenAI had scraped and trained on information that was behind a paywall.” He also testified about an agreement letting Microsoft require OpenAI to retrain its models under certain conditions, saying he would have required OpenAI “to retrain its models” over the paywall issue. Microsoft said Nadella’s testimony “spoke to broad principles and changes under way in how people find and consume information” and was not a “conclusion about copyright questions.”
Evan Swarztrauber, principal of technology policy firm CorePoint Strategies, told Breitbart News: “Microsoft and OpenAI’s legal defense is that scraping copyrighted material for training data is “fair use” and not a competitive threat to content creators. [Reuters] The United States, Denmark and Greenland have entered into an agreement for the US to develop a significant military presence on Greenland, while prohibiting US adversaries from building their own bases on the island, Donald Trump said on Friday.
In a Truth Social post, the US president wrote that no US enemies would be able to make sensitive investments on the island without the approval of the United States and that the agreement had no expiry date.
"At my direction, we worked with representatives of Denmark and Greenland to guarantee that the United States will FOREVER have the complete ability to do what is necessary in Greenland in order to secure and defend the security of Greenland, and the United States of America," Trump wrote.
Earlier on Friday, Reuters exclusively reported that the US and Greenland were closing in on a deal that would result in an increased US military presence, but would stop well short of Trump's long-held dream of acquiring the island for the United States.
Trump's Friday announcement suggests he was nonetheless pleased with the outcome of the negotiations, and that he may not revive his territorial claims, at least in the near future. He said, without elaborating, that the US would soon be rolling out a large military presence on the island, which already hosts one Space Force base in its remote northwest.
"This is a dream come true for the United States of America," Trump wrote.
The Danish prime minister's office said on Friday that the agreement would strengthen North Atlantic and Arctic security.
The U.S. will now have permanent access, basing and overflight rights in Greenland and the ability to establish additional military installations as needed, according to a senior U.S. official who outlined the deal exclusively to Fox News Digital.
The deal bars China, Russia and other non-NATO countries from establishing military bases or maintaining troops in Greenland. It also restricts adversaries from investing in sensitive sectors that could pose a threat to U.S. national security.
"This historic deal is a huge win for the United States and the American people," Secretary of State Marco Rubio told Fox News Digital. "Thanks to President Trump’s vision and leadership, this historic agreement permanently guarantees U.S. security interests in the Arctic at zero cost to the U.S. taxpayer.

That’ll significantly reduce Medicaid spending. It’ll no doubt significantly reduce research into finding new drugs unless the FDA eases up, as companies have lower profits to invest in such ventures, but that’s a problem for future us.
