From now on, GATIA, MSA, Ganda Izo, and the other concerned small groups no longer officially exist as autonomous armed movements: their fighters and equipment are engaged in the DDR process, and their integration into the Malian armed forces is underway.
But despite their official dissolution, the junta could continue to exploit their names and symbols for community purposes: fundraising from communities, mobilization, and instrumentalization of tensions or community conflicts through certain leaders from these movements.

Israeli athletes who were due to compete in an international triathlon in the Northern Irish city of Londonderry this weekend will no longer be taking part, race organizers said Thursday.
North West Triathlon Club (NWTC) said it had made "strong representations" that it could not support the participation of four Israeli athletes in the Europa ...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum... Triathlon Cup.
But Julie Middleton, a member of the legislative Northern Ireland assembly for the pro-UK Democratic Unionist Party, said the fact the Israeli quartet had been barred from a race set to feature up to 200 athletes from around the world was "an awful reflection on Londonderry."
Middleton added: "An international sporting event that should showcase our city’s hospitality and openness has instead become associated with the exclusion of athletes because they are Israeli."
NWTC, in a social media statement, said it became aware of the potential participation of Israeli athletes only when the provisional entry list for Saturday’s race was published on the World Triathlon website.
"NWTC immediately made strong representations to Triathlon Ireland and Europe Triathlon and made clear in the strongest possible terms that it could not support their participation in the circumstances," the organization said.
"For the avoidance of any doubt, athletes representing Israel will not be participating in the City of Derry Triathlon on Saturday... There will be no Israeli representation competing at this event."
The NWTC said its stance was not "directed at anyone because of their religion or ethnicity," but was a position "concerning representation of the State of Israel in international sport and the attempt to present normality on the international sporting stage while Paleostinians continue to suffer."
A statement from the Police Service of Northern Ireland said it "became aware of potential protest activity in relation to the event through social media."
There have previously been protests against the southern Republic of Ireland’s upcoming games against Israel in European soccer’s Nations League, but the fixtures are going ahead, though the republic’s October 4 "home" tie will be held behind closed doors at a neutral venue overseas.
Israel played its World Cup qualifiers in Hungary and is set to use a neutral venue for its Nations League match against Ireland on September 27.

[FoxNews] Pro-China communist groups funded by tech tycoon Neville Roy Singham expand protests against data centers to Flock cameras
The same hard-left network behind "No Kings" and other protests is leading the battle against data centers and Flock surveillance cameras, according to a Fox News Digital investigation and a new report.
In growing protests from San Francisco to North Carolina, organizations and activists associated with the same ecosystem that rallied against President Donald Trump, Israel, Elon Musk, Tesla and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) over the last two years are now taking on data-center construction and license-plate readers.
The overlap includes organizations funded by pro-China, Shanghai-based tech tycoon Neville Roy Singham, whose sprawling nonprofit and media network has faced Congressional and federal scrutiny over its funding and foreign ties. Singham and the nonprofits he has funded have denied taking orders from any government or political party and haven’t been charged with any crimes.
The findings are detailed in a new report, "The Compute War at Home," commissioned by Consumer Action for a Strong Economy, an Alexandria, Va., free-markets nonprofit that used social-media analysis by Arken Intelligence, a technology firm based in Washington, D.C., for parts of its study.
"The money, media, organizing capacity and campaign objectives converge in the same ecosystem," the report says.
Based on reporting over the past several years from street protests, Fox News Digital has identified the protest movement’s evolution across three phases. The new report chronicles a repeatable political model, in which activists first identify a local grievance, then connect it to a larger ideological narrative and package the argument through national media and activist infrastructure and carry it into new communities.
The first phase appeared in early January 2025 with Trump’s inauguration and the launch of "Tesla Takedown" demonstrations to protest Tesla founder Musk as he led efforts to cut waste in federal spending. It became the mobilization infrastructure built around "No Kings" and "Hands Off" anti-Trump protests, anti-Israel activism and related campaigns, supporting the Communist Party of Cuba, the Islamic Republic of Iran and Venezuelan communist strongman Nicholas Maduro.
Organizations from the Singham network – including the Party for Socialism and Liberation, CodePink, the People’s Forum, ANSWER Coalition and affiliated groups – appeared repeatedly across those movements, working with nonprofits more aligned with the Democratic Party, including Indivisible, a nonprofit network funded in part by billionaire Democratic megadonor George Soros. The organizations deny any wrongdoing as agents of alleged foreign influence and say they are addressing legitimate community grievances.
The second phase shifted that protest infrastructure toward American technological infrastructure. Over the past year, CodePink developed a national campaign against data centers, while the campaign took root among the approximately 70 chapters of the Party for Socialism and Liberation with near-identical messaging and strategies. Liberation News, which describes itself as the newspaper of the Party for Socialism and Liberation, nationalized local victories and promoted moratoria, bans and project cancellations. Media outlets, like BreathThrough News, from the Singham network provided additional amplification.
The third phase involved an ideological crossover in which Flock cameras have now become a bridge between local privacy and policing concerns and the national fight over artificial intelligence, cloud systems, energy and data centers.
The report doesn’t claim that every opponent of Flock cameras or data centers is connected to the activist network. It notes that opposition to Flock has become genuinely bipartisan, with legitimate concerns about privacy, data retention, misuse and poorly written government contracts. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis recently ordered license-plate readers removed from state highways, while Texas has also moved to pull back from the technology, and Republican Sen. Josh Hawley has launched an investigation into Flock cameras over surveillance concerns.
But the report credits the left-wing organizers with fusing the two issues into a one-two punch that has caught on with a broad coalition.
According to the Arken Intelligence analysis, posts mentioning both Flock and data centers increased from 639 posts in the 10 weeks before a spike in organizing on May 19 led to 9,009 posts over the next 10 weeks, a 14.1-fold increase.
Among posts for which a political affiliation could be classified, the report said, 81% came from right-wing, conservative or libertarian accounts.
"Issue pairings rarely multiply fourteen-fold in a matter of weeks without a catalyst, particularly when the surge begins immediately after organizers start promoting the connection," the report states.
"These influence actions are cognitive warfare. Foreign actors don't need Americans to become pro-China," Rob Joyce, former director of cybersecurity at the National Security Agency, told Fox News Digital. "They need Americans to argue for the outcomes Beijing wants. And a free society that can't build the power and govern the advanced technology is going to wind up renting it from the adversary, read the PRC, that doesn't share its own values. And that scares me as an American."
The report identifies at least a year of coordination among far-left activists in the Singham network, deliberately linking the issues through propaganda media outlets and activist networks funded and supported by Singham.
But as we know, the coordination has gone on much longer, whether or not Mr. Singham’s connections were involved.
Late last September, BreakThrough News laid the groundwork, publishing an article that described Flock as "America’s authoritarian tracking infrastructure." Soon after, People’s Dispatch, now merged into the BreakThrough News operations, covered a Denver campaign against data centers the next month, using a photograph from the Party for Socialism and Liberation’s Denver chapter and quoting a local Party for Socialism and Liberation organizer.
By early May, the Party for Socialism and Liberation’s Denver chapter partnered with Indivisible and the far-left Sunrise Movement and promoted a forum examining the "connections between mass surveillance and data centers and how BOTH only serve the needs of billionaires and not our communities."
WHAT IF the powers that be, see that their A.I. / Data Centers & Flock Cam mass surveillance agenda is meeting massive public resistance from ALL sides of the USA political spectrum.
Thus needing to regain control.
Wouldn't using a false narrative to divide support and pit the supporter base groups against each other, be a way to regain that control?

Prosecutors alleged recruits were offered $2,000 a month, crossed into Turkey without passports being checked and were transported through civilian airports before Turkish military personnel helped facilitate their onward deployment.

A bit more real, DarthVader. Before 9/11 my synagogue hired off duty police to organize traffic on the high holidays, when hundreds of cars needed to be drive in and out of the parking lot in a short period of time — much like Christmas and Easter services at many churches, I imagine.
But after 9/11 my synagogue paid off duty police to stand guard during the thrice weekly Hebrew school sessions (Tuesday and Thursday after school and Sunday mornings during the school year) and weekly Friday evening and Saturday morning services. The congregation paid to harden the building itself, adding security cameras along all sides of the building and overlooking the parking lot that piped into a security screen at the building secretary’s desk, then making all entries into security doors controlled by the secretary as well. When they sold half the property for a community center for the entire Jewish community, to raise funds and cut expenses for the synagogue, a satellite station was built into the community center entrance at Jewish community expense for the use of the town police, which is staffed seven days a week during business hours. This is separate from the police hired by the congregation to guard the separate synagogue side of things.

In 2021, the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) took the unprecedented step of stripping Syria of its voting rights after finding its air force had used nerve agent sarin and chlorine gas on its own people.
But since Assad’s overthrow, the new authorities in Damascus have vowed to cooperate with the OPCW to destroy the chemical weapons the former president was repeatedly accused of using during Syria’s 13-year civil war.
"We aim at protecting the Syrian people so that such weapons will not fall into the wrong hands," Olabi said Thursday.
He added that his country was "also protecting the world and the region through such work. Every site that is secured, every ammunition that is identified, does not merely remove a danger to Syria, but the entire world."
Izumi Nakamitsu, head of the UN disarmament office, said an OPCW team last month "verified the irreversible destruction of 42 aerial bombs" by Syrian authorities.
"This significant development means that, for the first time since 2014, the OPCW has verified the destruction of chemical munitions from the Syrian Arab Republic," she said.
SUSPECTED CHEMICAL ATTACK
In 2013, Syria agreed to join the OPCW and disclose and hand over its toxic stockpile under Russian and US pressure, and to avert the threat of air strikes by Washington and its allies.
This came after a suspected chemical attack on the Eastern Ghouta suburb of Damascus that killed more than 1,000 people, according to US intelligence, and was attributed to the Syrian government, which denied involvement and blamed rebels.
But the Assad regime failed to declare all of its program and attempted to mislead inspectors.
At the Security Council, the United States urged the new Syrian authorities to continue cooperating with the OPCW.
"Our work to eliminate the Assad regime’s chemical weapons program and to promote accountability is not just essential for international peace and security; it is also a way to honor the Syrian men, women, and children whose lives were taken," said US envoy Tammy Bruce.
"Let their memory stir us onward as we work toward a Syria and a world finally free of chemical weapons."
China and Russia also both commended Syria’s progress in destroying chemical weapons materials.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said Thursday that Israel would set five Lebanese civilians free after Beirut helped retrieve the remains of slain Lebanese Jews, as part of the two countries’ US-brokered peace talks.
Israel has already released one of the five, Malek Kamal Ghazi, who was captured in October 2025. He was handed over by the Red Thingy to Lebanese authorities at the Naqoura crossing, a Lebanese security source and a source at the prisoners’ commission told Rooters. The sources said 35 Lebanese detainees remained in Israel, including 20 civilians.
The handover of the four other Lebanese nationals set to be released by Israel was delayed until Friday at 11 a.m., the Lebanese broadcaster LBCI reported, without giving a reason for the delay.
Confirming earlier Israeli media reports, the Prime Minister’s Office said that Israel had decided "to release five Lebanese civilians who were detained in areas of southern Leb ...home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade.... under IDF control."
"It became clear" after the five detainees were interrogated that they "are civilians who are not members of a terrorist organization, were not involved in terrorism, and there is no reason to keep holding them in Israel," the PMO added.
The decision to release them followed ground operations and other "significant activity" by both Israel and Lebanon in recent months to locate Jewish remains, the PMO said.
Netanyahu’s office added that the premier has "instructed officials to advance efforts to locate and return the bodies of the leaders of Lebanon’s Jewish community," who had been "kidnapped and murdered in the mid-1980s by terrorist organizations."
During Lebanon’s 15-year civil war that ended in 1990, Shiite terror groups including Hezbollah kidnapped and murdered several members of Lebanon’s dwindling Jewish community, including some leading figures.
A US State Department official said in a statement Thursday that Israel’s release of Lebanese nationals, and Lebanon’s help finding Jewish remains, were a product of the US-brokered talks between the two enemy states.
The State Department hailed Israel and Lebanon for "demonstrating good faith through these initial steps, and hope this will serve as the basis for expanded discussions on other civilian issues."
The agreement on the detainee handover was finalized during US Ambassador to Lebanon Michel Issa’s Tuesday meeting in Jerusalem with Netanyahu and US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee. The talks are expected to resume in the coming weeks.
Lebanon’s Prime Minister Nawaf Salam thanked the US administration "for the efforts exerted" to secure the release of Lebanese nationals from Israeli custody.
He pledged to work "until the release of all our prisoners" and "the disclosure of the fate of the missing," as well as a full Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory.
The IDF has taken over a security zone in southern Lebanon after Hezbollah in March dragged the country into the wider regional conflict by attacking Israel in support of its sponsor Iran.
The US-brokered talks that began in April have since secured limited Israeli withdrawals from "pilot zones" where Lebanon’s military is tasked with dismantling the Iran-backed terror group’s infrastructure.
[North Press] A convoy carrying about 308 displaced families left camps in Idlib countryside on Thursday to return to their areas of origin in several Syrian governorates.
Idlib’s Emergency and Disaster Management Directorate said through its official channels that the convoy departed under the supervision of the Idlib Governorate and the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor, in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent.
The directorate said its teams, in cooperation with the participating organizations, secured the convoy and provided healthcare services to those leaving to ensure their safety during the journey.
The directorate added that the convoy’s return was part of ongoing efforts to support residents returning to their areas and promote stability in local communities.

[NationalInterest] With a supersonic cruise missile, Iran would become an even greater threat to US Navy warships and US military bases in the Middle East.
Russia maintains increasingly close ties with Iran, and Moscow has supplied Tehran with surveillance data and high-resolution satellite imagery from Russian orbital assets. Such intelligence could allow Iran to track the movement and location of US warships, aircraft, and regional bases.
However, there are now warnings that Moscow could be secretly helping Iran develop an advanced supersonic cruise missile as part of a multiyear program dubbed C430L.
“The main purpose of C430L is to help Iran to develop a ramjet propulsion system, an engine that allows a cruise missile to sustain flight at several times the speed of sound,” the Financial Times first reported on Tuesday.
Missile and military analysts warn that such technology could be used to allow Tehran to develop anti-ship cruise missiles, which could threaten commercial shipping and even United States Navy warships in the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz, and the Gulf of Aden. In addition, the same technology would enable the Islamic Republic to produce cruise missiles that could strike ground targets throughout the region, including US military bases.
“Iran has built and flight-tested the ramjet propulsion system, although there is no evidence that a Russian-assisted supersonic cruise missile has yet been deployed,” the FT report added. The program was reportedly coordinated via the Russian state arms exporter Rosoboronexport, which is a subsidiary of the state-owned Rostec military industrial conglomerate, and NPO Mashinostroyeniya, the Russian rocket design bureau based in Reutov. The bureau is now under US and international sanctions due to its role in supporting the Kremlin’s military actions and territorial violations in Ukraine.
During the Cold War, NPO Mashinostroyeniya developed several Soviet weapons systems, notably the UR-100N intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM).
[Rudaw] The Syrian government plans to release over 50 members of the now-dissolved Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) from prison on Friday, a senior security official said Thursday.
“A number of imprisoned Syrian Democratic Forces fighters held by the government will be released by tomorrow,” Siyamand Afrin, deputy commander of the General Security Forces in Hasaka province, told Rudaw’s Nalin Hassan. According to a document obtained by Rudaw, 51 former SDF members will be released.
The release is part of a broader prisoner exchange under a landmark January agreement between Damascus and the SDF, which had previously resulted in the release of about 890 detained individuals by late May.
The planned release comes days after SDF commander Mazloum Abdi announced the dissolution of the force following the integration of its members into the Syrian army.
Afrin also said that “preparations have been completed, and within the next four days, a second convoy of 1,035 displaced families will return to their areas in Sari Kani [Ras al-Ain].”
The first convoy of 410 Kurdish families left the Washokani camp in Hasaka for Sari Kani in mid-August. The Syrian transitional government provided each family with $10,000 to renovate homes that had been occupied by armed groups.
The initial return was marred by violence, however, when some of the displaced families arriving in their hometown came under attack by local saboteurs attempting to prevent them from reclaiming their properties.
Sari Kani was controlled by Turkey and its Syrian proxies in 2019, resulting in the displacement of a large number of Kurdish families.
