[GP] The US Supreme Court on Monday upheld President Trump’s executive order restricting mail-in ballots ahead of the midterm elections.
Earlier this month, US District Judge Indira Talwani, an Obama appointee, expanded her previous block on President Trump’s executive order on mail-in voting.
The Boston-based Judge previously blocked President Trump’s March 2025 executive order, specifically his attempt to create a federal voter list.
In March 2025, President Trump signed Executive Order 14248: Preserving and Protecting the Integrity of American Elections.
"Free, fair, and honest elections unmarred by fraud, errors, or suspicion are fundamental to maintaining our constitutional Republic. The right of American citizens to have their votes properly counted and tabulated, without illegal dilution, is vital to determining the rightful winner of an election," the executive order said.
"Under the Constitution, State governments must safeguard American elections in compliance with Federal laws that protect Americans’ voting rights and guard against dilution by illegal voting, discrimination, fraud, and other forms of malfeasance and error. Yet the United States has not adequately enforced Federal election requirements that, for example, prohibit States from counting ballots received after Election Day or prohibit non-citizens from registering to vote," the executive order said.
"Several Federal laws, including 18 U.S.C. 1015 and 611, prohibit foreign nationals from registering to vote or voting in Federal elections," Trump said.
Judge Talwani previously said, "The Constitution does not grant the President any specific powers over elections."
On August 11, Judge Talwani blocked the US Postal Service from implementing Trump’s executive order that would make mail-in ballots more secure.
On Monday, the high court paused Judge Indira Talwani’s ruling that blocked key parts of President Trump’s executive order restricting mail-in ballots.
The three liberal justices, Kagan, Jackson and Sotomayor, dissented.

The Supreme Court on Monday sided with President Donald Trump for now in his effort to impose sweeping new restrictions on distributing mail ballots, putting on hold a lower-court ruling that had blocked key parts of the plan ahead of November’s midterm elections.
The justices, over three dissents, paused a ruling by U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani in Boston that prevented the Trump administration from carrying out portions of a March executive order involving the U.S. Postal Service and voter eligibility lists.
The decision is an interim victory for Trump and does not resolve the underlying legality of his order.
And it does not immediately clear the way for the new mail-ballot system to take effect. A separate injunction Talwani issued on Aug. 11 still bars the Postal Service from implementing the procedural changes for the Nov. 3 elections. The administration would need to overcome that order as well.

[FOX] Los Angeles County GOP Chair Roxanne Hoge issued an impassioned appeal for Republicans to "send help" to Democratic-controlled California, describing what she sees as rampant corruption in the state and saying most people "can't understand the level of obsession they have with controlling our lives."
In an interview with Fox News Digital, Hoge addressed the online reaction to a recent viral video posted by Democratic Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass in which the mayor said the city government would match six times every dollar donated to her re-election campaign. While some social media users expressed shock, Hoge said she was not surprised.
"The rest of the country doesn't understand what we're living under here," she told Fox News Digital.
"The number one thing people need to understand about Los Angeles in particular and California in general is that they've codified all of their shenanigans," she explained. "What normal people consider cheating or weirdness in the electoral process? It's all in the rules [here]."
[FOX] Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco remains defiant as the California Supreme Court deliberates whether he has to return approximately 650,000 ballots he seized from a November 2025 special election on redistricting.
The court heard arguments Monday from Bianco’s lawyers and from California, where state Attorney General Rob Bonta launched a legal challenge to Bianco’s ballot seizures in March, ordering him to return the ballots.
Bianco, however, refused, arguing through his legal team that he had a legal obligation to investigate the ballots after receiving a complaint.
"I did this, and this was legal," Bianco told reporters. "I went a different route. They are legal. Both routes are legal. It's just their side doesn't like the route I chose."
[BB] Monday on MS NOW’s “All In,” former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-TX) said voters are excited, so “Texas is going to shock the country” with Democrats wins.
O’Rourke said, “Here in Texas, you know, he’s behind Ken Paxton, the Republican nominee for Senate, who is a total train wreck. He is central casting as perhaps the most corrupt villain you could hope to find in the state of Texas.”
He continued, “On the other side is James Talarico, who’s this generational talent who is raising a ton of money, who’s connecting with communities as he travels the state. And he was fighting for things that people care about, making sure that teachers can afford to teach school, that folks can see a doctor, that we end the corruption in D.C. and here in Texas. So I like our odds in this state. And as you played that clip in South Carolina and as you talked about your experience in Maine, I really like our odds across the country.”
He added, “It’s 108 degrees in Arlington, Texas today, and we both had the volunteers out there under the sun, and the students who can connect the dots to what’s happening in this country and this election on November 3. And you better believe they’re going to be out there to vote for James Talarico, Gina Hinojosa, Vikki Goodwin, for every single Democrat up and down that ballot, Texas is going to shock the country.”

Paxton does have negatives. He was impeached by a lopsided House bipartisen majority back in 2023, basically a pay to play corruption. He was not convicted by the Senate as the evidence wasn't that strong.
However, he has made a lot of enemies in TX and his in-state fundraising is weak.
A moderate Democrat with positive achievements in biz or govt would beat him easily. Not too many of those however can win primaries.

in January, as border crossings dropped to near-unbelievable and infinitesimal numbers considering what they had been merely 12 months before, the Trump administration was already on the hunt, looking for the next way to tighten up on illegal aliens in the country.
One obvious starting point was visa overstays. There are any number of countries whose citizens routinely overstay their visas, and once those numbers started coming in, Secretary of State Marco Rubio moved quickly to shut that pipeline down in the interest of the 'public charge' - identifying countries of origin whose arrivals swiftly and routinely wind up on public benefits.
He announced they were indefinitely suspending visa processing (for jobs and family, not student and tourist) from 75 countries, which officially began on January 21, until the State Department could put more stringent vetting processes in place to ensure the newer, stricter rules were followed. Some of the countries were already on the outright banned list.
The well-established immigration industry in the United States went into overdrive at the announcement, and among others, one of the most notorious was part of a filed lawsuit - Catholic Legal Immigration Network.
As this has wound its way through the court system, the State Department has kept the pressure up on visa holders already within the US. They've revoked some 175,000, according to SecState.
As of this past Friday, a Manhattan judge decided that the State Department didn't have the authority to stop someone from getting a visa simply because of their country of origin, and she struck down Rubio's program as discriminatory.
Judge Jeannette Vargas said Rubio was acting outside his lane because the visa's outcome was 'predetermined.'
Judge Vargas gave the government until September 11 to resolve the remaining issues in the case, and the government can appeal her decision.
Her order also doesn't impact any visas denied for other legitimate reasons - just those under the blanket policy - and it doesn't have any other effect on the forward-going immigration push to remove the illegal aliens and visa overstays here.
The other thing cases like this are doing is exposing to the public eye who the enemy combatant non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are that are actively fighting legal immigration enforcement efforts to remove the illegals that these NGOs were paid so handsomely - up until the Trump administration took office - to flood the country with.
Digging in a little bit, as I tend to like to do when things piss me off, I had a question about this Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. (CLINIC). They are fighting tooth and nail for illegals. Taking the government to court over enforcement. Providing illegal aliens, border jumpers, and those who use precious resources the American people pay for and need themselves with legal assistance to defend themselves against the government.
