[NYPost] The unhinged lunatic who stormed into a Manhattan synagogue is a deranged serial robber who sources say told cops "F—k the Jews" after the hate-filled attack — but his aunt bizarrely claims he wants to be Jewish.
Montes’ aunt Myriam Montes, who lives in Puerto Rico, told The Post that she believes he’s gone off the rails. Pretty obviously, this short fat fuck wasn't on GLP-1s
"I feel terrible about what happened to this young man—my nephew. He’s had issues regarding religion, but he didn’t act the way he should have," she said in Spanish.
"He’s mentally traumatized because of his desire to belong to that religion [Judaism]—that’s what he’s said. Given what happened, he might not have been in his right mind; he’s mentally traumatized."
Myriam, who hasn’t spoken with Montes in about three months, said his infatuation with the religion seemed to "escalate."
"I told him he had to be careful with that because those things are sacred — you have to approach them seriously," she explained. "He wanted to keep studying because it seemed like he had a dream he was pursuing."
She also blamed his mental state on childhood trauma. His mother died during childbirth and he had trouble coping with what happened to her, she claimed.
Montes’ Facebook is flooded with posts about Israel and Judaism.
One image depicts two hands, one covered in the Puerto Rican flag and the other covered in the Israeli flag, reaching toward each other, while another picture reads: "Keep Israel in your heart."
He’s also reposted videos that slam anti-Israel Mayor Zohran Mamdani, including a clip of a woman comparing Mamdani to an Iranian dictator.
Montes, who police say is a known emotionally disturbed person, was arrested at least twice before for violent mostly peaceful robberies.
On the Fourth of July 2023, he was charged with robbery with a deadly weapon after he pulled a knife on an employee trying to stop him from stealing $25 wireless headphones from a Best Buy at 1280 Lexington Ave.
He also pummeled a 20-year-old worker in the head after attempting to steal four deodorants from a CVS at 2833 Broadway in July 2019.
.
Cops discovered that Montes was carrying a crack pipe during that incident. He was charged with robbery, criminal possession of stolen property and criminal possession of a controlled substances.
"I think his mind isn’t right and that he needs good therapy," Myriam said.
[IsraelTimes] Hate crime charges have been filed against a man who disrupted Shabbat services in Manhattan’s Central Synagogue and struck two people while being hustled outside last night.
“As synagogue security was escorting him out, he struck a member of the congregation, damaged synagogue property, and then spit at and head-butted a member of the security team,” a statement from Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch says.
A police sergeant working as a paid security detail at the synagogue immediately took the man into custody, and no one was seriously injured, Tisch says.
Larry Montes, 46, of the Bronx, faces two counts of assault as a hate crime and one count of criminal mischief as a hate crime, among other charges, Tisch says.
Additional police security was added and Shabbat services continued earlier today.
“We might want to be focusing on the beauty of our liturgy and the sanctity of Shabbat, and somehow the feeling of the imperfect and cruel world keeps flooding in,” Rabbi Rebecca Thau told congregants.

Mentally unhinged, so nothing he says is meaningful.
Some 70% of NYC Jews voted for the other Democrat, against Mr. Mamdani, in a deep blue city where only a third of the rest of the population bothered to vote. Blaming The Jooos for Hizzoner is unfair and untrue.
[Daily Signal] Earlier this week, Gov. Greg Abbott announced a new initiative aimed at protecting students in Texas schools from abuse.
During a visit to Lubbock on Tuesday, Abbott announced his initiative to combat abuse in public schools, targeting educators who engage in inappropriate relationships with students.
During fiscal year 2026, there were more than 1,600 allegations of inappropriate relationships between students and educators and more than 500 allegations of sexual abuse involving students at Texas schools, according to Texas Education Agency data.
During fiscal year 2025, there were 580 allegations of inappropriate relationships between students and educators and 304 allegations of sexual abuse involving students.
Abbott said new laws are needed to strengthen protections for students and hold educators who abuse their positions of authority accountable.
"This new law builds on previous and vital actions that crack down on inappropriate teacher-student relationships," Abbott said. "We must protect our students and lock up predators. Together, we will keep Texas classrooms a safe space for children to learn, grow, and succeed."
Under Abbott’s proposal, criminal penalties will increase for teachers and school staff convicted of an improper relationship with a student. The penalties would include mandatory sex-offender registration and a minimum 10-year prison sentence.
Those convicted also would not be eligible for community supervision, deferred adjudication, parole, or mandatory supervision before completing the 10-year prison sentence.
Example: We have a 9th Grade female (10 rated) teacher that every guy wanted to bed. The lucky guy was a football jock, at the High School. He was 17, in a different school, and given GA's age of consent law (then), it was never openly addressed.

Teachers shouldn't sleep with students not because of age but because teacher-student relation is a lot like parent-child. Even if the student is college.

The schools have been incentivized to keep the incidents quiet and to shuffle the perps out of town to offend again elsewhere.

Our institutionalized sexism has given women less punishment for the same crimes that men commit and are punished. Maybe someone is looking to fix that.
[Red State] It's finally happened. An Obama-appointed judge has decided to uphold the law, rather than indulge her feelings about Donald Trump. Her cocktail circuit friends will surely be disappointed in her.
So will Rep. Ilhan Omar (MN-5), given the litigants in the case. The case, African Communities Together v. Mullin, challenged the Trump administration's decision to terminate Somalia's TPS designation, which had been scheduled to take effect March 17.
U.S. District Judge Allison D. Burroughs had initially stepped in on March 13, just four days before the termination was supposed to become effective, and temporarily froze the administration's action.
As we reported earlier on RedState, Burroughs had faced an impeachment effort after refusing to clear the way for the Somali deportations.
"SCOTUS made it very clear that lower courts cannot suspend TPS. Yet, an Obama-appointed judge is defying the Court and the Constitution in an attempt to subvert the will of the President,"

[Regnum] The 30-meter yacht Angiola II sank in the Mediterranean Sea off the northern part of the Italian island of Sardinia, the newspaper Corriere della Sera reported.
The incident occurred on August 12 between the island of Cappuccini and the cape of Capo Ferro on the Costa Smeralda. There were 14 passengers on board. None were injured, and all were rescued by emergency services.
The incident was caused by engine failure on the vessel, which resulted in a fire. The vessel began to list and eventually sank. The yacht currently lies in 7 meters of water off the Costa Smeralda and is under observation. A tugboat is scheduled to bring it to shore. Emergency services clarified that no fuel leaks were detected as a result of the incident.
According to the publication, the yacht was transferred to its new owner, an Italian businessman, just four days before the incident. Its value exceeds €8 million.
How very odd. Did the new owner have it inspected before closing the deal?
A similar incident occurred in July 2025 in France. The superyacht Sea Lady II, over 40 meters long, caught fire off the coast of Saint-Tropez. Thirty rescuers and four emergency vehicles arrived at the scene. The vessel was built in 1986 to designs by Don Shead Yacht Design and refurbished in 2024, after which it was chartered for €65,000–€80,000 per week.
Italian media outlets have estimated the vessel to be worth more than €8million (£6.8million), however the yacht is listed for €4.5million (£3.8million) on yacht selling platforms.
The Angiola II was launched by the Italian shipyard Permare under the Amer Yachts brand in July 2020. It was the sixth hull in the Amer F100 series.
Experts have noted that stability problems, such as errors in metacentric height calculations, are among the most significant factors that can cause vessels to capsize or sink.
The Trump administration’s Justice Department sued New York, Connecticut, and Vermont as part of its effort to stop illegal aliens from receiving in-state taxpayer-funded higher-education benefits denied to out-of-state U.S. citizens.
The new lawsuits bring the administration’s nationwide campaign to 17 states, even as federal judges and state officials continue to push back against parts of its broader higher-education reforms.
The administration argues that the policies violate federal law by allowing illegal aliens to receive lower tuition rates and other benefits that are unavailable to U.S. citizens from outside those states.
"This is a simple matter of federal law: Colleges cannot provide benefits to illegal aliens that they do not provide to U.S. citizens," Assistant Attorney General Brett Shumate said in a Justice Department statement.
Associate Attorney General Stanley Woodward similarly accused New York, Connecticut, and Vermont of placing illegal aliens ahead of American citizens.
"Congress long ago made clear that states cannot put illegal aliens over our nation’s own citizens," Woodward said.
The difference in tuition can amount to discounts of thousands of dollars for illegal aliens that American out-of-state students are not eligible for.
In New York, illegal aliens pay roughly $7,700 annually at State University of New York campuses, while American students from other states pay about $17,730.
The administration has already secured several victories in its effort to eliminate similar policies.
States including Kentucky, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas ended policies providing illegal aliens in-state tuition benefits unavailable to out-of-state Americans, while a federal judge in Illinois ruled last month that the state’s in-state tuition benefits violated the Supremacy Clause and were unconstitutional.
The DOJ is now appealing a March ruling by Biden-appointed U.S. District Judge Katherine Menendez, who dismissed the administration’s challenge to Minnesota’s tuition law granting in-state tuition to illegal aliens. The Justice Department maintains that the policy still violates federal law by extending education benefits to illegal aliens that are unavailable to some U.S. citizens, and has taken the case to the Eighth Circuit.
The administration is weighing its options in another major higher-education case as well. On Thursday, Clinton-appointed U.S. District Judge Richard Stearns dismissed DOJ’s Title VI antisemitism lawsuit against Harvard University. Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon said the department "disagree[s] with the ruling" and is "assessing next steps."
The four-page decision does not resolve the DOJ’s related claim seeking recovery of federal grant money Harvard received while it was allegedly violating Title VI. Stearns acknowledged that the government had advanced a breach-of-contract theory for recovering previously granted funds, but said he was "assuming without deciding" whether that remedy was available and expressly declined to address the merits of the issue.
That leaves the administration’s next move unclear, while preserving a potentially important legal avenue if DOJ appeals or pursues another route to recover taxpayer funds from Harvard.
The Trump administration still has time to advance its higher-education agenda before the November midterm elections, but the political environment could become significantly more difficult if Republicans lose control of the House, Senate, or both.
While DOJ has secured significant victories, the rulings in Minnesota and Harvard show that judges appointed by Democratic presidents have emerged as a significant obstacle to parts of Trump’s higher-education agenda.
The next phase may depend not only on how many lawsuits the administration files, but on which legal theories survive and whether unresolved questions like the one left open in Harvard give DOJ another path forward.
[NYP] Sophie Cunningham went from the hardwood to the bar top on Friday night.
Hours after the Fever’s 98-87 victory over the Wings, Cunningham went viral on social media after she climbed atop the bar at Clayton’s Country Bar in Indianapolis and belted out Toby Keith’s "Courtesy of the Red, White & Blue" as the crowd sang along.
The performance came after Cunningham helped the Fever continue their late-season surge with their eighth win in their last 10 contests, giving her another viral moment away from the court.

[Federalist] When the clock struck midnight on August 12, Second Amendment activists everywhere celebrated because for the first time in nearly a century, the burdensome regulations and registry required for firearm-muzzling suppressors could be on the chopping block.
The gun rights victory came in the form of a memorandum opinion and order from a federal district court judge in Texas, who declared on August 5, 2026 that the provisions outlined in the 1934 National Firearms Act "exceed Congress’s Article I enumerated powers and are therefore unconstitutional.
The biggest benefactors of the decision were the large "coalition of individuals, businesses, associations, and states" who sued the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for using the "unconstitutional" NFA stipulations on suppressors to "infringe the Second Amendment right to ’keep and bear Arms.’"
Under the 1968 Gun Control Act, suppressors are classified as firearms and require 4473 paperwork as well as an FBI NICS background check when purchased from federally licensed firearm dealers with Special Occupational Tax status. The NFA additionally compels suppressor buyers to submit fingerprints, a photo, and a Form 4 to the ATF. Before President Donald Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill, purchasers of the popular hearing protection devices were also required to pay a $200 tax stamp fee.
Form approval could take up to a month and comes on the condition that owners secure their suppressor and keep proof of ownership with the device at all times. Their names and other pertinent information is also added to the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record (NFRTR), a central registry that tracks the millions of NFA devices and their owners.
The latest injunction and a lack of protest in the form of a stay extension from the Department of Justice emboldened plaintiffs like Silencer Shop Foundation and Gun Owners of America to begin transferring suppressors to qualifying parties with no paperwork, registration in a federal gun database, and no waiting period.
"I think this is an incredible moment for the Second Amendment. This is a historic and generational win for gun owners to have a gun law that was in effect for 92 years actually get repealed," Aidan Johnston, federal affairs director of the Gun Owners of America, told The Federalist in a phone interview. "It’s very, very seldom that once we give up a Second Amendment right, that we actually get it back."

As far as home invasions and uses for self-defense go, Dead is dead.
What difference does a silencer play other than not waking up the neighbors. 🤫
As far as political assassination attempts go lately. Maybe retraining the Secret Service Protective details to shoot in a timely manner, when they see the shooter, would be better served.

From what I've read about subsequent purchases, the main two requirements are (1) you have to be a member of Gun Owners of America (the original litigant) and (2) reside in one of the states that joined the litigation.
Note that the guys that did a purchase in Austin met those requirements, and both had FFL's, so that if there was a legal challenge, they were still good. They still had to file a 4473 purchase form. Testing the water, so to speak.
What I'd like to know is where home built suppressors sit in all of this.

[FOX] Harvard University’s investment arm disclosed a $2.2 billion stake in SpaceX, revealing a massive payoff from an early investment in Elon Musk’s rocket company following its blockbuster public debut.
Harvard Management Company reported the position in a regulatory filing Friday, making SpaceX the largest individual stock holding disclosed in its $4.3 billion portfolio of U.S. equities.
The investment highlights how SpaceX’s record-setting June initial public offering delivered significant gains for university endowments that gained exposure to the company through venture capital investments, in some cases more than a decade ago.

AIDC (Artificial Intelligence Data Center) power refers the specialized, high-density electrical architecture, backup power, and energy storage systems required to run intense AI workloads. Unlike regular data centers, AIDCs experience massive instantaneous load spikes, run at ultra-high rack densities (50kW to 750kW+ per cabinet), and demand zero-millisecond power reliability.
[KhaamaPress] Elon Musk plans to spend at least $100 million to help increase Republican voter turnout in the November U.S. midterm elections, part of a renewed political alliance with President Donald Trump ...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and whatever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th and 47th President of the United States... , The Wall Street Journal reported.
The Wall Street Journal reported Friday, August 14, 2026, citing people familiar with the matter, that Musk has recommitted to Republican political efforts after a bitter public split with Trump last year. The newspaper reported that Musk’s focus is on encouraging Trump supporters who typically vote in presidential elections to participate in the midterms as well.
Musk, who was once one of Trump’s most prominent political allies, fell out with the president in 2025 after disagreements over government policy and spending. Their relationship has since improved, although Trump has privately indicated that it may never return to the level of closeness they previously had, according to the Journal.
Behind the scenes, mutual friends and political allies helped repair the relationship. The two have resumed communication and are reported to speak roughly once a month about issues including artificial intelligence, China and international affairs.
The renewed relationship could have significant political implications for Republicans ahead of the November 3 midterm elections, when all 435 seats in the House of Representatives and 35 of the 100 Senate seats are scheduled to be contested.
Musk has already demonstrated his ability and willingness to spend heavily in U.S. elections. His political operation spent roughly $200 million to support Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign, while a Wall Street Journal report said Musk spent nearly $300 million during the 2024 election cycle to support Trump and other Republicans.
The Journal reported that Musk’s renewed support could help Republicans defend their narrow congressional majorities. Republicans also have an incentive to maintain ties with Musk because companies he controls, including SpaceX, have substantial government relationships and could face greater congressional scrutiny if Democrats ...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects... regain control.
Democrats have already indicated that they plan to investigate companies and financial entities connected to Trump and Musk if they win control of the House. Rooters reported last week that Democratic politicians are preparing investigations into Trump-linked businesses, government contractors and companies owned by Musk.
Musk has largely abandoned an earlier idea of creating a new political party and is instead returning his attention to Republican candidates and voter mobilization.

[Yahoo] Ukrainian drones disabled US armor brigade in simulated warfare 'so quickly' that they had to respawn the exercise
Ukrainian drone forces have proved so successful against US troops in exercises that "destroyed" equipment had to be reintroduced into the simulated combat
Over the course of the two-week-long exercise, US forces improved at camouflage, dispersing, and using electronic warfare against the aerial attacks
The Combined Resolve military exercise took place in Germany earlier this year
US forces engaged in military exercises were stunned to be defeated quickly by Ukraine drone teams, so much so that the units were allowed to be re-added into the scenario.
Taking place in Germany earlier in 2026, the event was one of several exercises intended to simulate real drone warfare and develop responses and countermeasures to attacks. Ukraine's drone warfare has proved vital in its ongoing war with Russia, with its successes in the conflict defining the country as a pioneer of Unmanned Systems Forces and electronic warfare integration.
The US isn't the only country to have engaged in wargames with Ukraine, with the UK, Estonia, and Sweden all recently outmatched
RECORDING A "KILL"
Despite the US incorporating long-range drones into its arsenal during the War on Terror, it has had mixed results in defending against drone attacks, both in combat and in exercises. The simulated conflict with Ukraine took place in April and May 2026, and while the Fort Hood-based US forces may have come away from the event with some pride, the speed and decisiveness of the Ukraine drone forces clearly took them by surprise.
Rather than using live ammunition in these exercises, an observer is employed to determine whether a "kill" has been made. This is usually achieved by the drone controller hovering the craft above a vehicle or other combat equipment long enough for a potential kill to have been made.
In this particular incident, the Ukraine drones were recording kills so quickly that vehicles had to be sent back as new units, like a video game respawn.
However, as the exercises progressed, the US forces were able to improve their performance. Their responses to drone attacks relied on faster camouflage and concealing, effective dispersal, and employing electronic countermeasures to block the drones.
UKRAINIAN DRONES DOMINATE
As part of the training, Ukrainian drone controllers also switched sides to assist the US troops in making effective offensive use of drones.
The Wall Street Journal reports that Air Force General Alexus Grynkewich, NATO's top military leader, stated that "You can't get training like this in the United States," but observed a noted improvement in NATO forces after training: "The change is remarkable."
It isn't just the Americans that have struggled with Ukrainian drone warfare in simulated scenarios. Other events in 2026 have revealed shortcomings in handling drone attacks in exercises involving the UK, Estonia, some US troops, and other NATO forces. In addition, a military exercise involving Swedish-led NATO troops and Ukraine's drone warfare resulted in the NATO side being outmatched.
